General :: Could Not Verify This Certificate For Unknown Reason
Jul 7, 2011
I am testing about using SSL Certificate in apache web server using Ubantu 10.04.2 (64 bit edition). And I insert SSLcertificate and private.key file into "default-ssl" file in "sites-available" folder. But when I call the website, SSL certificate show "Could not verify this certificate for unknown reason".
I am trying to get openssl to verify a certificate. I will walk you through what I have done so far.
1. openssl genrsa -des3 -out connect.mydomain.com.key 2048 2. openssl req -new -key connect.mydomain.com.key -out connect.mydomain.com.csr 3. Bought an SSL from GoDaddy. 4. Submitted my CSR 5. Downloaded sf_bundle.crt (CA File I presume) 6. Downloaded connect.mydomain.com.crt
Now I can do the following: [root@server tls]# openssl verify -CAfile sf_bundle.crt connect.mydomain.com.crt connect.mydomain.com.crt: OK This is specifying the CAfile.
i have continue found below message on server rhel 4.5(ent) Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 31 on CPU 0. Feb 14 16:15:01 fe2012 kernel: Dazed and confused, but trying to continue Feb 14 16:15:01 fe2012 kernel: Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled?
My windows xp partition crashed for an unknown reason the other day and i was wondering if i could fix it from my mint debian partition. my windows partition starts to boot but then just hits a black screen and freezes and when i go to run it in any safe mode it just lists a bunch of drivers and then stops there.
We installed 3 new rhel 5.5 systems yesterday; each of which are generating this error " Error: certificate verify failed" in response to a basic "yum update". From what I can gather, via a general search, this may be isolated to x86_64 -- however the references I found were specific to Satellite Server (which we are not using). Never the less, I checked the PATHs for the cert and they are correct. All of our 32 bit systems are running RHEL 5.5 and this is not a problem on any of them.
this is not on the master node, but rather the node that is being replicated to. The problem occurs when i query using ldapsearch or an `getent passwd` EG ldapsearch:
The cacert.pem in /etc/ssl/certs and /etc/openldap/certificate are identical (check using md5sum). I have done an strace and found that it looks at /etc/pki/tls/cert.pem .
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10. Something really weird keeps happening to me, a total of 3 times so far, and given how it occurs. When I click I all of a sudden get a black screen with some output about states and then the gnome login is displayed.
Here is how it happened:
1) I clicked on the close button on Google Chrome.
2) I double clicked on the Skype icon in the panel.
3) I clicked on a dialog in a Windows 7 Virtual Box guest.
why this is occurring? I doubt you will so how the heck do I go about diagnosing something like this?
I just booted up ubuntu, and instead of the beautiful default appearance, my task bar and some of the icons in my launcher (home folder, workplace switcher) look like they were thrown back 5 or 6 years in time.
Im having a hanging problem with a HP dl160g6. uname -a shows:
Linux mail.xxxxx 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 #1 SMP Thu May 13 13:08:30 EDT 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
The server was working fine since November 09 until a month or 2 ago.Sometimes (almost daily now) the machine hangs and shows the front "health led" blinking red.The services do not respond, locally i can see the login screen but when attempt to logon it freezes (the same happens with ssh).2 weeks ago i open a case in HP and the support sugest that the problem is in the X server (??), since then the system starts in runlevel 3 but the problem continues. A week ago open another case, on Tuesday make a BIOS upgrade but today in the morning the server hangs again.
Theres no strange messages in log files but... after the Tuesday hungs (before the upgrade) i can see the error msg below (thanks to the change to console mode):
Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 30.Dazed and confused, but trying to continue.Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled?
Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 20.Dazed and confused, but trying to continue.Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled?
adding "nohpet" as kernel parameter does not work.
I'm pinging a certain website and what happens is that each time the ping process freezes for an unknown reason ca. 10-15 sec then it starts to ping. Note that only this particular domain causes this hanging and Ctrl-c seems to have no effect at all! The domain is niteco. So far I've tried several independent linux systems all with the same result however other non-linux systems ping normally.
I'm trying to install an Ubuntu cloud on my home network - I've been following this guide. When I arrived at STEP 6: Install an image from the store PART 3: Click on the Store tab I get the following error message on the page: Error 60: server certificate verification failed. CAfile: /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt CRLfile: none
I've been using Fedora 12 for about a month, and i'm very happy with it. Even tough, there's only one thing that worries me, and is giving me problems at the same time. I'm getting an error from: syslog@localhost that says: kernel:Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason b1 on CPU 0 kernel: Dazed and confused, but trying to continue. Kernel: seems to be a problem, likely on the PCI Bus
I'm not able to reproduce the problem every time i want, but, sometimes happens when i activate the snow effect combined with the cube effect, using kwin. My computer and OS specifications are: Pentium IV HT(disabled) Nvidia Geforce 8400gs 2 Gb Ram DDR2 (1xGB, 2x512) Hard Drives: 2x80GB Using Fedora 12, KDE 4.4.1, with Nvidia privative drivers, nouveau disabled
I've bought a HP Photosmart printer, HP Photosmart wireless e-All-in-One printer - B110a and i've got a problem installing it properly. I'm using Debian 6.0 Squeeze. When i connect the printer, Debian doesn't recognize my printer as the Photosmart B109 printer for unknown reason. When i go to the site of HP and search for a driver, it directs me to this site:I've downloaded that latest hplip file as a .run file and installed it. My printer is recognized proparly, but when i try to print a colored image, it comes out black/white. Something is not crrect. Does anyone recognize this problem with this type HP printer?
If I send data via scp, will scp automatically verify that the received data matches the sent data? I can do it manually with md5sum, but is that necessary?
How do I verify that my 6 GB/s SATA ports are working under Linux?
Linux detects the ports, and I can use them for disks but I would like to figure out if they are using a 6 GB/s controller/driver instead of the slower, more common speed.
I back up all my digital photos to a couple of places. I've been using the cp command, but--given the personal value--have started to wonder if there's a more reliable way. I'm no stranger to Linux, Bash, Perl, etc., so I could write something to copy and compare md5 hashes, but I was wondering if something already exists (reinvention, wheels and what-not).
Most of my googling for copy and (verify|valid|check|hash|confirm) turns up rsync. However, as far as I can tell, rsync only uses hashes to see if a file needs to be updated. It doesn't perform a hash comparison afterward. For this use, specifically, the files are binary and typically 8-10MB.
I want to verify that serial port libraries are installed in my system.I know that it is installed at /usr/local/lib. But I dont know what all files are to be present in there, so to ensure that the same is installed properly. Iam using suse 11.1.
I have noticed kernel.org with kernel releases on the mainline.Example: 2.6.36-rc1 is currently on the mainline. What does it mean? Does it mean that feature changes been freezed.Does it mean "2.6.36-rc1 Released". I have job to verify vmware drivers to test the version information, Can I test it now through compiling for vmware drivers now. Lots of Git activity goes on after kernel comes on mainline. Does it mean our vmware drivers can only be tested after kernel if finally announced
Simple task: I'd like to use uzbl, but I need to visit a couple of sites with client certificates. Chrome uses my local cert storage, I suppose uzbl can do that too. But how?
I am using the curl version 7.21.0. When I try the curl command from command like, things works fine for the http sites. But when I try https I get certificate error. I have source compiled curl with latest OpenSSL. I have also tried downloading the latest certificate bundle. With the same version of curl, same version of openssl with same certificate file I can get it work on the linux. But in the QNX OS I get this error.
./curl --cacert /mnt/temp/curl-ca-bundle.crt -v https://www.paypal.com * About to connect() to proxy 172.16.2.17 port 8080 (#0) * Trying 172.16.2.17... connected

When I start Apache it ask me for the pass phrase for the second host (both hosts have one). When I browse to first host it have recognized the loaded its certificate. When I go to the second server I get am untrusted message because it is using the first certificate. I have found and followed the directions of several web posts: [URLs]
