Server :: Unable To Configure Slave Nodes On Rocks Cluster?
May 28, 2010I am trying to setup Rocks Cluster on a Cluster containing 1 Master node and 23 slave nodes connected via a Switch. The master node's eth1 is connected to public IP and eth0 is connected to the slave nodes via the switch.
I was able to install the Rocks cluster on the machine, I configured the IP for master through DHCP. When I run the command 'insert-ethers' on the master node, it doesnot get me any slave nodes.

CentOS 5 :: 2 Nodes Cluster Hang At Startup?
Feb 17, 2010I have an annoying problem with a 2 nodes cluster that I don't understand.
One of my server is totally shutdown.
When I start cman after a reboot on the other server, it hangs on "Starting fencing...". The process which is actually hanging is : /sbin/fence_tool -w -t 300 -m 45 join
When I start this program manually, I get this output :
# /sbin/fence_tool -w -t 300 -m 45 join
Waiting for all 2 nodes to be members
Waiting for all 2 nodes to be members
Waiting for all 2 nodes to be members
Waiting for all 2 nodes to be members
(and so on...)
What I don't understand is why the fence_tool program wait for the 2nd node to join the cluster and don't fence the other node.
Here is my cluster.conf :

Would it be a good idea to edit the cman startup script and remove the "-w" option of command fence_tool join, so the command do not hang up ?

Jun 8, 2010I am trying to do the cluster storage with the Rock Cluster storage operating system . I have install the rock cluster on the main server . and I want to connect the client with the PXE boot . when I starting the client then it boot from the PXE boot into the mode of compute node. but it ask the where is to be stored the I have give the path..then server says that not able to find the directory path.
Steps:-
1) insert-ethers
2) client is started with the PXE boot.
3) it detects the dhcp .
4) At last it demand where is to be started by cd-rom, harddisk ,nfs etc.
then I started with the nfs and I have given the lanIp of server.and server is detecting the client but client is not finding the filesystem directory. into export partition directory but it is not taking path.
PATH:-
/export/rock/install it is not finding this path then it is not able to start the o/s from PXE boot..Is there any solution and manual of rock or anyother solution then u can reply to me...

There is no luci_admin and even if I manage to start luci service, I get a blank white screen when I try to open it from the browser. I've googled a bit and found that I'd might be able to setup GFS if I manage to build cluster.conf manually and start the cluster suite, but I cannot find documentation on how to create cluster.conf anywhere. If anyone knows how to setup GFS2 without a cluster suite or how to configure cluster.conf.

I then put my new key onto my file server and attempted to connect to the FTP and it failed (this did work before with the default key).. I use curlFTPfs to mount the FTP directory locally as /ftpbackup, below is the command and the output.

Dec 21, 2010I have a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 server on my network & that I inherited with no documentation what so ever and it has an application called 'Clearquest' installed from IBM. This application uses some proprietary web server that gets installed with the 'Clearquest' application. My problem is I need to find the SSL certificate the web server is using. If this were Apache, I would look in '/etc/httpd/conf.d/http.conf' but there is no Apache software installed. Can someone please assist me in a way I can look through the RHEL 4 server for any trace of the SSL certificate. I don't know the actual name of the certificate but I know the server is rendering it on the web. When I type the address of my server in the URL field, I can see the servers SSL certificate. Now how I can find that certificate path / location on the server itself?
