I can't manage to install Packet Tracer 5 on Lucid 10.04 amd64. I've tried both the binary and the tar.gz with the help provided on the old amd64 forum but it's still tell me that the the package architecture (i386) does not match the system (amd64). Do someone have any idea other than switching to the 32-bits version?

I'm running fedora 11 and cisco version 4.8.01 (0640). When I connect to my work, and get authenticated, the system freezes completely. In searching it looks like at one point updating the kernel to a new version resolved this, at least for the 64bit implementation. I'm running 32bit and I'm on kernel kernel-PAE-2.6.30.8-64.fc11.i686 which is a newer version then what was listed in the other thread.

Is using Cisco AnyConnect for ssl remote access, i loged on on my company vpn.abcd.com , using a username and a password, requested a certificate which was added to Firefox certificates, then installed the AnyConnect client. now i can just start the AnyConnect client to connect without the need to access to my company vpn.abcd.comWhat i want to do is to add a vpn connection to the network manager so its always connected once i powered my computer on, and dont need to start the AnyConnect client to get connected each time.
There were three options Password/SecurID, Certificate(TLS), Certificate(TLS) with TPM.I tried the first one, got a message "Unknown certificate from VPN server "vpn.abcd.com". Do you want to accept it?" , accepted entered my password ---> login failedThe other two options need a certificate files which i dont know how to get, is it the firefoxcertificate, or what ?.

Just wanted to ask a small question... I've set up a VPN connection to my university and i installed and configured everything ok, cause I can connect without any problems...
Now that I'm connected I want my browser to run through the VPN tunnel created by the connection so i can access certain sites that are else inaccessible, but how do i force my browser (I'm using firefox atm) to do that?
When I'm on MAC of Windows OS, as soon as i connect with a VPN, all connection run through them. Fedora seems to ignore the VPN connection and just continues to use my home-network to connect to the internet.
So the basic question is: how do i use the VPN connection.
Iuse FC10, kernel 2.6.27.21-170.2.56.fc10.i686, fully updated system

I just got DHCP working, but I need to add a "Pre-Defined Option" for the Cisco VoIP network here. At least that's what it's called in Windows. This "Pre-defined Option 150" is necessary on Windows dhcp servers tied to Cisco VoIP networks, but I have no idea where to start getting that set up in Fedora.

I am trying to connect to a cisco console port using the usb to serial converter. I am using minicom and I changed me setting to reflect the USB converter cable, but it isn't working. I have set my baud rate to 9600, 8 data bits and no parity. Minicom acts as if it is connected (it doesn't give any errors), but there is nothing on the screen and nothing happens when I type. Also, I use the tail command and it sees the usb connector connected when I unplug it and plug it back in.

I can get a dual band cisco ae1000 to work with fedora 15, but the same steps taken on opensuse don't work. Has anyone managed to get this card working on opensuse 11.4 x64? If so, I've tried compiling a driver and using the repo for an rt3572sta. neither worked. The way i hacked the program (following a fedora forum) worked in fedora but not opensuse. I've tried blacklisting cards and making sure the module loads on boot.

I wrote a program for transmitting an UDP Packet. It is properly received in Fedora core 2 machine while its not received properly in Fedora 12. I tried using Wireshack packet capture software which shows the protocol as DIS. Is there any service or setting i need to do for identifying the packet as UDP.

I'm writing to you because I encountered the following problem. My program displayes all network interfaces that are available in the system, but I would like to adda functionality in which a user can enter a destination address IP (ex. the IP address of the Google search engine) and will get information which network interface will be used to send it. As I know it is associated with reading information from routing table in the system. Maybe you know the API (functions/methods) which I could use to do it in RedHat ? I program in C/C++, but if you know how to do it in other programming languages (Java, Perl, Python) I will be grateful for any information.
