Fedora :: Oracle 10g Installation Error In Fedora 15

I have installed oracle-xe-univ-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm in my system but im unable to open the database home page please suggest me to how to rectify the problem. Im using fedora15 32 bit OS with gnome, i have installed it by just right clicking the file and selecting the option "open with software installer" then it automatically installed the software and i can see the icons of oracle in applications but when i tried open the "go to database home page icon" the home page is not displaying in the browser and displaying the following message "Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at xxx.x.x.x:xxxx. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I upgraded to fedora 12 today from fedora 11. I had oracle-xe 10g running on my system perfectly fine when I was running fedora 11. now , after the upgrade, i cannot login to sql.it gives the following error

I was notified by the updater that VirtualBox-3.2-3.2.10_66523_fedora12-1 (x86_64) was available to install. So I clicked [Install Update] and got the following Transaction error:The GPG keys listed for the "Fedora 12 - x86_64 - VirtualBox" repository are already installed but they are not correct for this package.Check that the correct key URLs are configured for this repository.

Exception String: Error in invoking target 'ntcontab.o' of makefile '/home/oracle/oracle_10.2/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk'. In forum I saw this kind of post and I did all the steps, then also getting the error.

I have wasted lot of time in installing rpm packages which are needed for oracle 11g on Fedora 10. Packages dependencies are going in circle. Is there any better to handle this package install and its dependencies? I was using rpm -ivh command. Following are required packages. Tried to down load packages which are not present in /var/log/rpmpkgs.
In some cases I got higher versions of the following packages.

The following packages failed to install :
I couldn't find any of these packages in the x64_86 or i386 DVD. i686 version of the above packages are already installed, but I still get the error while installation.

An unhandlable error occured There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks. Please report this error at http://launchpad.net/aptdaemon/+filebug and retry.
I recently tried to install Oracle xpress edition 10g by downloading the ".deb" file of around 200 mb. When the installation was about to complete, the "Ubuntu Software Center" gave an error like shown in the picture.

I was wondering if i could get an oracle 10g version that is guaranteed to work for fedora 10.I know they have downloads for linux and possibly fedora 4 but will they workon fedora 10.I thought about using wine to run the windows version of the installer but it seems wine cant 'emulate' everything.If the above stated courses of action are not possible,what 'easy to learn' software could i use to create a database on fedora 10.

I need to install Oracle on my F15 machine however when I try and run the installer it gives erros that DISPLAY is not set, so I tried adding using XHOST + but that also states no display setting, any idea what i am doing wrong?

I'm new to linux I love it. I want to open oracle forms 10g in my mozilla which was default in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5 (Tikanga) ( I'm using). When I tried to open, getting error mess "Install missing plugins". I tried to install plugins manually but no use. Some one said I need to change the "pluginreg.dat" file. But I didn't find that file " /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins " to change.

im a newbie in this of linux. I want to have a linux virtualbox with DB servers like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and so on, so i installed Fedora in virtualchine of virtualbox. In the network configuration i set the Bridge Connection to enable Fedora to get IP from DHCP and it works fine. After that i've installed Oracle 10G Express and it works fine, i can connect without problems to oracle admin web application from Fedora. Previously i checked if port 1521 is open on fedora so when Oracle is running i use nmap and i get this:

I am trying to install guest additions on Oracle Enterprise Linux Update 5. Whenever I try to the run VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run script I get the following problem:
erifying archive integrity.All good. Uncompressing VirtualBox 2.0.0 Guest Additions for Linux installation. VirtualBox 3.0.6 Guest Additions installation install the build and header files for your current Linux kernel. The current kernel version is 2.6.18-164.el5PAE Problems were found which would prevent the Guest Additions from installing. correct these problems and try again. I also tried yum install using the following commands without any luck:
yum install kernel-devel kernel-headers-`uname -r`
Following are the package information of my kernel-devel and headers:
> rpm -q kernel-devel
kernel-devel-2.6.18-164.el5
> rpm -q kernel-headers
kernel-headers-2.6.18-164.el5
I have been spending a couple of hours already on how to fix this but I still couldnt get to install this.

I have been trying to install MATLAB 2008b as a standalone version; however, every time when the process runs to 18% it shows an error as follows: "There was an error extracting the archives for MATLAB compiler. Chceck that you have enough disk space and rerun the installer."
I did have checked the disk space which is much more than enough. I have also changed few different disks that are way more than enough as well, about 5GB at least, but this error still popped out when it runs to 18%.
