Fedora :: Connect To Another Computer In Network Via Qpid-config?
Jun 22, 2010
I'm trying to connect to another computer in my network via qpid-config(which is running qpid server). Here is where I follow the instructions [URL].. I can connect to qpid server(which is running on the network) via JMX Management Console which is gui version of what I'm to accomplish from console/unix shell. I can connect and read messages from queue(s) from this server so it means there is no problem with network or whatever. I'm running Fedora Core 13, here is the following combinations I've tried so far with qpid-config so I can run qpid-tool and some other commands :
Code:
qpid-config -a localhost, 192.168.1.2:8999, guest/guest@qpid-server
qpid-config -a guest/guest@qpid-server 192.168.1.2:8999
qpid-config -a qpid-server, 192.168.1.2:8999, qpid-server:8999, guest/guest@qpid-server
qpid-server is added to /etc/hosts as hostname for 192.168.1.2
Had anyone anything similar to this maybe I'm missreading the instructions(although they are pretty straight forward), I've spend so much time on this and just stuck now.

I have the following problem:I have to networks in remote places.I have an opnvpn client in one network that connects to the the router (openvpn server). My question is,can i connect the network where the openvpn client is,throught the computer with the client to the other network. If yes, how? (please make it an idiot proof anwser because i have limited knowledge about iptables). I was thinking like forwarding (the router in the network with the openvpn client is also firewalling with iptables) the request of the ip class of the openvpn network to the computer with the client, which masquarades the interface

As i describe the thread,i won't be able to configure my NIC to connect to internet which is basically done by just running system-config-network in shell to configure xDSL connection. But instead of system-config-network it contains system-config-network-tui which is used for ISDN connection. And after running system-config-network as well as system-config-network-tui it shows the same output which is in attach file
After some google search it shows that there is bug with system-config-network and it is fixed in system-config-network-1.6.0.el6.2-1.el6 but i wont be able to find it.
As i m not subscribed to RHN

However when I click on the Windows network Icon SuSe tyies to locate my Computer but then comes back with " failed to reteive share list from server. This is as far as I can get after several hours of trying.

I looked around, but found no results that really matched and I would like to point out that I am fairly new to linux, so this may be a very obvious answer to some of you.I am running fc12.i686, installed from a disk in the back of a book for a class. No one else in my class is having this issue. When I select System > Administration > Network I am given this error: Failed to execute child process "/usr/bin/system-config-network" (No such file or directory). I am not so new to not realize that this file is not there, which I confirmed with an "ls -a". My question is, is there any way that I can download and install that bin? Or perhaps replace/repair it with the disc? It was supposed to be in the original install and my have been, the only thing that I have done in the /usr/bin/ directory is I tried to install Java (6.22 I think it was), which told me it installed correctly but didn't work when I tried Minecraft.

I've been running F10 since it first came out, and I was happy to see it was the first Fedora release that automatically recognized my Atheros wireless card. I have to run system-config-network and press the "activate" button when I start the machine, but that's ok and no big deal. But today, for whatever reason,in system-config-network, the "activate" and "deactivate" buttons are grayed out and I cannot start the device so I have no network access. When I boot the machine into Windows, it works fine.

I have F14 on a laptop and can't see the laptop screen very well, unless I put my face like right up against the glass, is there a way I can login to my F14 laptop using my windows desktop computer?
whats the easiest way to do that?
I used to use nomachine in previous versions, is that method still used in F14? can't seem to find the FreeNX package anymore.
I used these instructions in previous versions: [URL]
which you'd think would still work in F14, but not sure what happened to FreeNX
otherwise, how do you do it using vncserver? I didn't do it that way in the past because I didn't understand how.
using XFCE window manager in F14 on a windows 7 desktop
Laptop: HP Pavilion dv6-1350us
Desktop: custom build Asus computer using a 23 inch Samsung SyncMaster 226bw LCD display

This may fall under the "ain't broke don't fix it" category but it's driving me nuts. I've got the Broadcom 4322 wireless adapter in my laptop and it works fine with broadcom-wl driver and kmod. However there is no ifcfg-eth1 file and the card does not show up in system-config-network.

I have two computers and I'm trying to get them to talk to each other, but after I installed Fedora 14 on this computer, my other computer can't connect to this.
[code]...
Same with DAAP I'm using rhythmbox to both broadcast and listen to the DAAP, and the rhythmbox on the remote computer cant connect here either. ssh and VNC are working on the other computer as well, I can connect to other computers using ssh on both computers, and I can VNC over to the other computer without any problems, its the traffic going myway that seems to be hitting a roadblock. is it possible that since I installed a different system (was Ubuntu Natty before, and I was using all three services before I installed Fedora), I need to do something on my remote computer so that this won't crop up?

I have so many _wired_ devices that I can't get by with just 4 eth cable outlets anymore, so I thought I'd hook up an older router that I don't use as a way to get extra places to plug devices into.
Now it looks like:
Internet
then cable modem
then router1/wifi + (1 eth NAT storage)
then router2 + 4 eth0 computers:
(legacy FC5 box)
(legacy F11 box)
(updated F13 box)
(windoze)
All of the computers EXCEPT the FC5 box are fine (my def of "fine" is I can ssh to and from the other computers and to outside computers, and browse the web).
The FC5 box, however, can ssh to and from computers inside the network just fine, but can't get any kind of web browsing. Nor can it ping to the outside. I get a "Network is unreachable" error. I'm not using a proxy, not knowingly, and my firewall settings haven't changed...it certainly hasn't been blocking port 80 before.
what's the best way to go about adding more ethernet when you need about 7 cables. I'm not really excited to buy a router with 8 ports or anything like that, especially when this seems to _almost_ be working just fine.

My wifes networked computer connected to the network just fine when it was Win XP. Now that Ive converted it to 10.04 (completely) it can see the network, but it just wont connect to it. I had no problem converting my computer to Ubuntu and it sees the network and accesses it great. Files, folders and hard drives are all shared. So, one computer connects great, the other does not.**I dont know what to do at this point. Here is the layout:My Comp (10.04) ---------......Main Network Comp (XP)Wife Comp (10.04) -------/The main network computer is XP as it has software on it we need that does not work in Wine. The main computer will have to stay XP. I cannot get my wifes computer to connect to the main system, although mine connects just fine. I dont know what the problem is. Her computer sees the network, but when trying to connect, it times out and says unable to connect.

so, last night i checked my e-mail, jumped on facebook for a minute and went to bed. i got up this morning and my computer seemed frozen; no mouse/keyboard, no network visibility.....nothing. the screen was just frozen. tried too ssh into it to reboot, but the network wasn't up on it. i had to hard reboot. NOW, it just reboots forever....and ever....and ever. i have a WinXP partition on there along with my F12 and that wont boot either. selecting a previous kernel does nothing either. it wont even boot off the F12 install DVD. just keeps rebooting. I've never had this happen to me. so, it seems like a hardware thing to me, but i dont know if its my mobo or the drive. i suspect a mobo issue as the drive still spins up and gets me to the grub menu.

I just upgrade my Fedora 14 to Fedora 15 RC1.I found the critical issue for me that Juniper Network connect(SSL VPN) didn't work for me again.I wonder if the network interface name changed impact this, but I am not sure about it as I didn't see any obviously error.I can connect the VPN auth page with my username and password after I switch my Java plugin to Sun JRE( I use google Chrome). As the Java VPN applet started, it appeared for a while and shutdown again. I think the VPN auth has been passed at that time, the problem might about creating the VPN Tunnel.

I bought a new PC with fedora (gnome-based) on it, but i can't seem to connect to my network.
I also have a laptop with fedora 12 which did connect to our network.
I think the problem lies with the new PC, i can't see the NetworkManager icon anymore in the bar, and i don't know how to start it since the NetworkManager daemon failed.
When it was still working I was able to see 1 other network, but on my laptop i was able to see about 10 other networks.
I hope someone could help me fix the networkmanager and possibly help me connect/fix the wireless card.
