View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using F14 and I usually saw cr2 raw thumbs in nautilus. Then some days ago they disappeared.
package raw-thumbnailer is installed.
Browsing gconf-editor at Desktop/gnome/thumbnailers I saw no key for CR2.
Then I wrote the key You can see in attachment and everything was working again.
But as You can see there is a message: "this key has no schema"
Is it possible to display a thumbnail for the *.png image in Nautilus ?It works fine for *.jpeg, *.tiff,... What are the requirements to do that ? (librairies...)

I've tired turning off previews and that didn't work. Running nautilus as root didn't work either

And after that point, it becomes unusable, can't be closed, only by killing, and can't start anymore, it shows only an empty gtk window and freezes again. View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using openSUSE 10.3.I play my video files using mplayer which I installed from tarball & necessary codecs.I can play my video files from command line nicely.Only one problem there are no thumbnail of any video file.Does anybody which software should I install so that thumbnail appear for video file in my nautilus file browser.The default player for GNOME desktop environment is totem which require internet connection to play file while my computer has no internet connection that is why I don't do anything with totem as it always says particular codec needed to play any audio or video file.

It created a "bkl-thumbnail" home dir and has been caching image thumbnails.
Any way to keep it from doing that? Or find out why it's doing it?
I'm playing a little bit with tracker, and I particularly like the feature that enables you to tag files. I was trying to see if there was a way to integrate it into Nautilus, and I stumbled upon this: [URL]. Which, of course, doesn't work for me! (Fedora 10). One thing to note is that they say to install python-nautilus, which I couldn't find, so I installed nautilus-python instead... just a different name for different distros or are they actually 2 different packages?

It does not appear in nautilus but when I look for it from command line it appears to be there. I simply do 'ls' for this and that means its not hidden.Googled it for an hour to find a suitable answer but most of the posts focus on removing the in front of file name which is not the case here.

In some cases it still appears to show the free space, for example when viewing properties of Home folder, or viewing the properties of a detachable HDD in media-folder (but not when trying to view the properties of any of the folders _on_ that HDD).

I have been setting up my laptop as a dual boot with Win7 (yuckkk!) and Ubunutu 11.04. My HP Pavilion dm4 came with 4 primary partitions used by Windows! (Again, yuckkk!) I got rid of Windows_recover partition (I don't remember the exact name) converted that primary partition to an extended partition and then installed Ubuntu in virtual partitions. All that works.What I don't like is that the partition HP_TOOLS shows up in Nautilus, and if you click on it, it self-mounts and makes that partition accessible.

Only a list of all files in the current directory is visible.
How can I enable/show ?
I have just tested this 3 times now and everytime I got the same result. I have two identical servers, they are both IBM x345 and everything has been copied directly from one to the other so they are exact duplicates other than the hard drive and partition sizes. When copying over the /svn directory it looks like everything copied successfully (I have tested rsync and cp) but when I go to look at the files locally there is nothing there. I can view the files without issue over the nfs share that I am using to copy the files but nothing is there locally. Even df shows that there is nothing there. The other server on the network shows the files there and using du I can see that the size is correct on all of them.
Before anyone suggests this is a permission issue, I was using root to see if the files are there but even root does not see anything. I am completely lost on this and even google does not seem to come up with anything. The servers are running fedora 12, the /etc/exports file is placed below.

I have a partition that I mount as /data on all of my distros of my multi-boot machine. I am having a bear of a time figuring the right way to address permissions/groups so that any distro can use it (or any removable drive).I tried (in linuxmint) making a group '/data' and assigning the users on my machine to that group, then changing the permissions/groups of the files and folders in that mount as belonging to the /data group, then booted to fedora 15, made the /data group, added the users to that group, I'm not sure that this way will work (it doesn't seem to) or if it's the best way to proceed. some of the things I don't get are:what is the '1000' user and group?is the user/group info on (in or somehow attached) the mount itself?does this seem like a good way to do this?is there on way to 'apply permissions to enclosed files' recursively through the nautilus context menu?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a problem on my installation of Ubuntu 10.10: it shows 0kb space remaining in nautilus. When I delete files (also out of Trash) it shows there is again space, but within minutes this free space is full again. When I look in Disk Usage Analyzer it says there is 140 GB available and it is impossible that the complete partition of 190 GB is full. But I cannot save or download anything anymore and the system is not very responsive. So it seems to act as if the disk is completely full.
