very new to using fedora and trying to install my belkin wireless adaptor is not working at all. It reads the disk but says there is an error.it still works fine on windows so i'm not sure how to fix this.

Linux doesn't seem to recognise this device at all. I had a look online from another PC for drivers. and they are provided by Belkin themselfs but only for Windows XP/Vista.Is it possible to get this working on openSUSE. I previously used this very same adaptor on an Unbuntu 10.2 PC and it worked with no problems at all.

I've got an old IBM Thinkpad T41 that I just play around with Ubuntu on. The internal Wireless card is broken, so I bought a Belkin F5D8013 PCMCIA Wireless N card a while ago. It worked fine with Ubuntu 8.04-9.10, but it will not work with 10.04. It sees the networks just fine and will let me type in the network password, but it will not connect. Everything else in my house connects without a hitch, so I know it is Ubuntu causing the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Compaq AMD64 that has ubuntu 9.04 on one HD that works great. I've installed 10.04 on a separate HD and had problems installing it. I have 10.04 running now but I can't get my wireless card to work. During installation I skipped setting up the wireless network. Now when I boot into the 10.04 partition I cannot get the nm-applet to work. I can't get it onto the task bar and I don't see it anywhere else.
I checked to see what drivers are installed, and since I have no connection with that OS I can't update or DL drivers for it. I'm pretty sure that it is because I skipped setting it up during installation. What do I need to do to get the wireless working now? I checked other threads and none seem to pertain to my situation. Since I have to log into the 9.04 partition, I can't copy/paste outputs very easily.
i am complitly new in Ubuntu and the world of Linux in general, so i said to my self its better late then never, i installed the last one 10.10. but i am having trouble with my wifi usb adapter (BelkinF5D7050 v 1000), the same adapter works perfect under XP in the same PC. when i go to NM i dont see it in the list of network cards "i see just my two other normal network cards + loopback" and i have permanent small "x" on the icon of NM up in the task bar, even if check or uncheck "Enable Networking", it alwayes show a info bubble "you are now offline", here is the result of all the command line that can help getting better view on my problem

I have just installed Ubuntu 9.10 alongside Windows 7 and it is not picking up my Belkin N wireless adapter?? So I went to go and download the Windows Wireless Drivers (ndiswrapper) software so I can install my adapter and the download center just says "Not available in the current data" and wont let me download it? Also I tried to download my nVidia drivers from software center and it said the same thing?
Never before have I had a problem with Ubuntu until now So can anyone point me in any directions as to how to get these installed???
I tried getting a Belkin USB Wireless adapter:N150 to work in a fresh installation of 10.4 with no success. After reading several forum posts I tried both solutions with ndiswrapper and the XP driver and with the Ralink native driver with no luck.

i have ubuntu 10.04 i believe and i cant connect to the intenret i guess its not detecting my wireless adapter. i cant try ethernet cord which prolly would work because i cant move pc to another room....is there any fix for this? i googled linux drivers but i cant find any...i do have the cd that came with the adapter.

I'm new to all of this but read through many threads to do as much as I could myself. I used the GUI to load the rt3070 drivers rather than rpm. The GUI is easier I think and should be equivalent. Please let me know what else I need to do. Fedora has been great on my Lenovo but this usb wlan stuff has been a pain.

I have a Belkin G Wireless USB Network Adapter that I cannot get working for the life of me...USB adapter hardware: F5D7050 Ver. 3136 (v3000) Below are ouputs after a fresh install... Then I tried to install the newest drivers from ralink [URL] I blacklisted the current drivers and installed these and everything looked the same as before. Even if i blacklist the 3 drivers

I have a older Dell desktop running a older version of Ubuntu 9.04. I recently got a Belkin N300 micro wireless usb adaptor so I could use it to connect to the internet. I have a Verizon MiFi 2200 wireless router that I use for internet access. The desktop won't recognize the new hardware. It came with a driver disc, but it's for windows.
Will this adapter even work with linux?
If so, how do I get it to work?

I set up an older computer with Ubuntu 9.10 and tried to get my Linksys AE1000 Wireless N adapter to work. My first mistake was not checking in advance to see if this adapter would work, but I have taken the leap and I am intent on making it work. I ran lsusb and it gives me a device number (13b1:002f) so I know it can be seen and I have also installed indisgtk the GUI for Wirless drivers. I am having trouble finding the wireless network however. My Box has an " Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN " wireless network adaptor. From what I can tell, this is supported by this version of linux. I have the adaptor enabled, my image settings as bridged, and the wimax enabled in the removable devices (connected). When I open network settings in YAST my wired (ethernet) card shows up but not the USB. If I manually add a wireless card, I can't select the kernel module from the drop down list - there is nothing in it. At that point I abort YAST. So, how do I convince YAST that there really is a USB wireless adapter connected?
