Fedora Installation :: Fc11 First Boot Hangs On "Verifying DMI Pool Data"
Oct 18, 2009I had Fedora11 (default layout) running on a separate hard drive (winXP on the other drive). After the FC drive failure I replaced the drive and did a fresh install again. This time I tried a custom layout to keep the /home on a separate partition. The installation went without a hitch, but on first boot the system hangs with "Verifying DMI Pool Data......"
XP boots fine though. Looks like grub doesn't get loaded. I can boot with the installation cd and get into recovery mode, everything seems fine on the fedora disk. Fdisk result:

Apr 22, 2011I am managing a PBX which runs redhat enterprise linux. The time on it is always getting out of sync, which causes the time on the phones to display incorrectly. I can't figure out for the life of me why the time keeps changing. How can I set it to update it's time every day or two? I don't want to hit ntp.org every day, as is recommended. What's the recommended interval for connecting to the ntp pool? The kernel is Linux 2.6.9-67.0.4 (from uname -a)

Feb 2, 2009Im having a hard time trying to change my raid configuration. Here is my situation:
A have two HDs that I configured in instalation time to work as raid squid proxy-cache. they are both 40GB. 40+40=80GB. So, I want to change it to two of 160GB. 160+160=320GB.
I have:
sdc1=40GB
sdd1=40GB
im adding / want:
sda1=160GB
sdb1=160GB
I want to remove the two 40GB and use only the two 160GB for my proxy. The thing is that when I remove the two 40GB, the system crashes at startup telling me that the raid cant be done then file system check fales too. Im wondering if there is a file a have to edit to change to point it to /dev/sda1 intead of /dev/sdc1 for example, so my system would start up looking for sda1(160GB) and sdb1(160GB) intead of sdc1(40GB) and sdd1(40GB).

Nov 26, 2010I recently removed windows 7 from my computer and am now only using ubuntu. I used a live cd to grow the partition to use the new available space, but now the system just hangs at the Verifying DMI pool data section of bios. This is usually the first thing before grub loads.

The ip addresses I am using for the vpn connection are in the 10.9.1.0 network but I want to connect my ovpn clinets to the 192.168.0.0 network. I read the manuals and I think the "push route" command will work for me, but I cannot understand fully the description of the command "push route".

Sep 23, 2010I got this working before, but now I have a freshly installed Ubuntu 10.04 and I wanna play yahoo pool and I followed all those crazy insane commands they posted but they (java) didn't help at all, their support and help is really poor as I get errors like directory does not exist or no such file. I basically installed the jre-6u21-linux-i586.bin file in my home directory like and used all their commands like cd /home and all that. Here is my ls output they say always to check, but it seems like I installed it but I can't get it installed with firefox together.

Dec 4, 2015Sometime system wait during boot a long time on

When everything is ok boot took around 20seconds. But when this problem occur it can take around 5 minutes. It occure during normal boot, but there are some information about resume from hibernation in log. But I didn't hibernate it. And hibernation doesn't work reliably so I removed uswsusp because I tried to fix hibernation with installing uswsusp first.
My laptop: MSI EX600X-033Sk (C2D T5250, Nvidia 8400g, It has firewire, usb2.0, ...)
I tried to google stuff like "Jessie slow boot", "Stack on random: nonblocking pool is initialized" etc but I didn't found any solution.

Ubuntu Installation :: Stuck In BIOS -Verifying DMI Pool Data
May 20, 2011I was dual-booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10 till recently. Then I had to reinstall Windows. After re-installation of Windows I did not try to restore Grub and deleted Ubuntu partitions on disk thinking that I'll install newer Natty version. But now when I try to install Ubuntu 11.04 using pen drive it gets stuck in bios showing message "Verifying DMI pool data ....". I also tried to boot GParted, memtest and Windows 7 with the same pen drive. Same thing occurred with GParted and memtest but Windows 7 installation did not stuck and went as usual. So I guess it's not hardware.

My ISP gave me IP Pool 110.88.90.68/29 to use this on my LAN. my question is how can I use this IP pool on LAN side interface. i think now its simple. 192.168.1.0 /24 is my LAN network and I can not change this, because i have near 180 PCs on my LAN.

So i wanted to set a new one on Fedora 14, there is the problem..On my fedora 14, i tryed to use the configuration file that i've made on the F11 but withtout success. It seems that when i activate the SSL option on the server it does not want to start anymore... and i have no errors messages. I notice that when i desactivate the SSL "ssl_enable=NO" my server on F14 can start normaly.

HP LaserJet 2200d is connected on WS-NSU62P with USB cable. This printer works fine with Windows clients (when you add printer with standard procudure for WinXP OS). Before adding the printer I have to install some drivers witch i found on install cd. I didn't found any drivers for Linux. Specification has info about supported protocol on WS-NSU62P (Network Protocol IPX, TCP/IP, NETBUEI, APPLETALK, LPR, smb (Over IP)

Aug 12, 2010I am trying to edit my http configuration (menu System -> Administration -> Server Settings -> HTTP) and it seems to be impossible. My Server Name comes up empty and I want to change the default Webmaster email address root@localhost to something else, but I can't change anything. I enter mu new server name and e-mail address, but when I click on the OK button I get a popup box which asks me if I want to save and exit. I click on the Yes button, and the box disappears. HTTP Server configuration does not exit and my changes are not saved.
