Fedora 13...using yumex I installed everything for eclipse/CDT C/C++.
However when creating a new project, no option fpr C++ is shown.
Obviously Eclipse doesn't know CDT exists!
I want to eventually add Qt 4.6.2
Here is what I have:
I have been using Eclipse to program in Java for a long time, and have been using Jigloo for most of my GUI design. Recently I decided to try out the C/C++ plugin. I tried installing it, but it did not work. After many attempts, I finally gave up. However, after uninstalling it I found that Jigloo had stopped working. Any other plugins I try to install now also don't work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling plugins, and reinstalling eclipse, but nothing I have done fixes it. Although eclipse says that the software has been installed, nothing shows up in the features list or the plugins list.
Another problem: When I install eclipse from the repositories, it doesn't install a bunch of libraries and eclipse cannot recognize standard java files.
I have a Sansa Clip + ,it works just fine in MSC mode. I wanted to give a try to the MTP mode. But it does not show up in Amarok. I have libmtp installed and mtp-detect does show up the device information.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyway since I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 when I right-click on something and there is another menu in that menu, it doesn't show up for the first time!
for example if I want to create a an "Empty File", I'll right-click on desktop and when I want to go to "Create Document" menu, it doesn't show up! so I must click somewhere else and try again so for the second time it works!!
I created a Fedora 13 x86 live image on USB using [URL] I've set it to boot using the USB and when it does I see the 10 sec countdown (or the options if I press a key), I tried all the options to boot the image but the screen just turns black for a few seconds and then the the monitor goes into "power saving mode" and nothing happens (I waited like 10 minutes). What's going on? I am trying to install fedora into an empty (secondary) HD, in the main HD I only have a win XP, and I don't want to burn a cd/dvd that's why I am trying to boot the USB.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have taken a break from using Fedora, but since getting my netbook Ive decided to dual boot with Windows 7 Started (warranty purposes) and Fedora 14 with Fedora as the default boot OS. Now Ive got my home network setup as follows:
Gaming laptop, Windows 7 Pro x64, external powered USB hub with 1.5TB HD with shared folders through windows share permissions and the HP Deskjet F2430 printer
Netbook 1, my wifes netbook, Windows 7 Starter, has 100% access to the windows shares and the printer.
Netbook 2, my netbook, Fedora 14 has windows shared folder access but no printer access. In Windows 7 Starter has access to windows shared folders and printer access.
All of them are wirelessly networked through my Linksys WRTG54GS thats flashed with DD-WRT Mega firmware. The only laptop that has a hardwired connection to the printer and HD is my gaming laptop. how to go about allowing this? My printer doesnt show up in the CUPS wizard.
I cant do anything with my desktop... It doesn't show any icons, it doesn't show any menu when I right click on it.. it's useless. I am new to Fedora 15 and GNOME 3

This causes havok in the software I'm developing that tries to make use of the selection buffer. I need the full selection, not bits more bits more bits and then the full selection.EDIT: I cannot listen for mouse events such as button release outside of the GUI of my program.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had Vista installed then Ubuntu Grub showed both... then I wanted to try Fedora 13 an after install I had Fedora Bootloader but it only shows Fedora / other and other is Vista... how do I manually enter Ubuntu partition into /boot/grub.conf or should I just reinstall ubuntu grub and hopefully that will pick up vista and fedora? Lost on where to go with this.

When I install F14 on my desktop, everything works 100%. I can open up the Add/Remove Software search for Thunderbird for example and install it. When I install F14 on my laptop (Dell D820), Thunderbird doesn't show up when I search, and when I look at the software sources, nothing is checked. When I try to enable it, it says could not contact fedora and it will be disabled. as to what is different between the two installs?

I just updated to the new drivers. In my Xorg.0.log file, it doesn't show any errors. It just stop at a black screen. This might be a new bug with the binary drivers.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI haven't used Eclipse on my laptop for a few months now, but all of a sudden I can't seem to right click anywhere in the program. The right mouse button still works for everything else (ie: in Firefox I can right click and the menu will appear). In Eclipse, though, if I right click on a project name, it will select the project, but no menu will appear (even if it is currently open project). This isn't how it used to act (nor is it, obviously, how is should act) but I'm not entirely sure what would have caused it. In all likelihood there was a system update that I forgot about, but has anyone come across this problem before?

I know Zend stands behind PHP and that Eclipse is a popular open source IDE. What is the difference tho?Is the PDT Project only a functionality that could be added to Eclipse IDE? I'm trying to make some pages. For this I try to host them locally. However, when I have an error in my PHP code, the server shows an internal error 500 page and doesn't show on what line and what compile error it encountered. There is no such information in the error log either. What should I do about it, it's not really nice to comment all the lines and then try to uncomment them one by one. I've been googling for a while, but didn't find anything.. I forgot to mention, I;m using Fedora :P, the apache that came with it and mysql and php from the repository...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using a 64-bit release. But, my PC doesn't seem to show the full 4GB of RAM that is installed. It shows about 3.4 to 3.6GB of RAM (please see attached picture).I thought that if I could install a 64-bit OS that would mean that I have a 64-bit capable processor. I thought using a 64-bit release would show all 4GB or RAM on my PC. What am I doing wrong? My CPU is a Pentium 4 Prescott DT 630.

Have downloaded Fedora 14 (64-bit Gnome) and installed KDE so I'd have the option of both desktops.
However, I'm unable to change from one desktop to another - from what I've read, there's meant to be a drop-down menu at the login page allowing you to select the desktop but I don't have one.
I am a beginner with Fedora (mostly used Ubuntu in the past few years, but figure it's time for a change) so I may be missing something obvious.
Not sure it's relevant in this case but specs: Intel Core 2 Duo, ATI 4850, 4gb ram, 320gb HD.

The problem is that none of the video players doesn't play video, they show only black window and play audio.

I installed windows binary codecs for mplayer to /usr/lib/codec/
So, now that I got http://bit.ly/h70Nnf sorted out, how come doesn't my Mobloquer show anything in the log. I'm used to Peer Guardian 2 in Windows and I know it has to show some more stuff than nothing.. Your help is sincerely appreciated cuz I'm so new to Ubuntu. FYI: Mobloquer and Peer Guardian 2 are IP blocking programs.
