Fedora :: Create 360 Pictures ?
Nov 30, 2010I have seen on some sites 360 pictures that you can click on and look round an image like a car etc.. Has anyone ever done this? if so how!

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Cannot Pull Pictures From SD Card. Pictures Half Green Or With Lines?
May 1, 2011Running Ubuntu 10.10 along side Windows7 on a 64-bit HP Pavilion dv7 Laptop. Everything works in Windows. Everything works in Ubuntu, except for 2 things.1) I can live with not being able to enable/disable wifi.) I cannot read photos from an SD card plugged into the laptops SD card reader. When I open the SD card in Ubuntu, I can see the file name, but the thumbnails show messed up pictures. Usually, the bottom half of the photo is solid green, and there are usually lines running through the photo, or it is divided into quadrants with one quadrant being ok, but the rest having the green and/or lines.I assume the driver for the card reader is not correct. Card reader works fine in Windows. So I have to reboot into windows, copy pictures from reader to a folder, then reboot into Ubuntu and I can see and open the photos just fine. Just cannot read and copy them from the card while in Ubuntu.

Fedora Networking :: 'fuzzy' Pictures On Mobile Broadband?
Nov 4, 2010This is not really a problem but I'd like to know if anything can be done about it.I run Fedora 12 (kernel 2.6.32.23-170.fc12.i686)/Gnome 2.28.2 on my Acer Aspire One netbook with a 1.6GHz Atom CPU and 1.5Gb RAM.I use a Huawei E160 mobile broadband modem to get online and this works OK; but (for example) I am on Airliners.net and looking at the trip reports, the photos are somewhat 'fuzzy'. Obviously the modem does not download too much data and you just have to do Shift+A to get it to 'reload' the pictures. After this they are crystal clear.However, is there a config setting that you could alter to do this automatically � e.g. download all the image data at once? I have looked in the Network Manager settings for my mobile broadband account and there is nothing in there.

May 9, 2011I'm very slow with Linux, so I will probably ask for clarification. I'm running Fedora 14 on an HP mini-notebook. I recently bought a Nikon Coolpix L120. I am having trouble importing photographs from my camera onto the computer. I've tried several different programs, and I have F-Spot and digiKam.
In digiKam, it auto-detects my camera, but I get this message when I attempt to import pictures:Failed to connect to the camera. Please make sure it is connected properly and turned on. Would you like to try again?
I've seen this problem before on different forums, but I couldn't find any solutions that I understand. Do I have to mess with permissions? I don't know what this means, and I could use some help.
F-spot doesn't even detect my camera. I read that F-spot requires gphoto libraries that would have something for my device. Unfortunately, on this list my camera isn't listed. The Nikon Coolpix L120 connects via USB cable.
General :: Browsing Pictures On A Mac?
Oct 12, 2010After many years using linux, I decided to buy a mac. Now my main problem is: how do I synchronize pictures within my linux machines and the mac?
I have been using digikam in linux, and I like it because I can just browse the pictures directly from my directories (and it is easy for me to keep directories synchronized within mac and linux).
I have been testing iphoto and aperture, which are quite nice but if use them, my understanding is that I have to import all the pictures into these softwares, and this doesn't seem to be the ideal solution for me. I tried picasa, but I don't find it as good as iphoto and aperture. On the other hand it allows me to browse directories, without having two copies of the same pictures.
Ubuntu :: Pictures Not Available For Upload?
Jan 18, 2010On several websites, such as WordPress and Facebook, when I go to upload pictures, in the window that pops up, all that I see is a big, empty box, even if pictures are in there. For example, let's say I navigate to my picture folder to choose a picture of my dog to upload. Neither the picture nor any of the other pictures in the folder will appear. Just a big, gray box, almost as if the folder were empty. Strangely, random pictures that I have downloaded from the web, such as one of Martin Luther that I have, show up. But even then, not all the pictures that I have downloaded!
This is perplexing to say the least!
Is this happening/has this happened to anyone before? Is it a bug in Ubuntu or have I neglected to download something important?
Ubuntu :: How To Get Pictures From Camera
May 1, 2010I plug my camera into my computer and a window pops that says a camera has been detected. There are two buttons, "Ignore" and "Import Photos". I click on "Import Photos" and nothing happens. I'm wondering if I can just navigate to a folder where I might find the pictures, kinda like /media/cdrom/ to get to a cd.

Aug 3, 2010I used GnomeBaker to burn photos from my digital camera onto a CD. I have a ThinkPad R51e with Ubuntu 8.04 installed as the only operating system. I do think that I will be able to use GnomeBaker to put photos on the CDs but I was wondering if there wasn't something that would be better.

Aug 18, 2015I was docking my laptop wich has 4 or 5 hdd connected and I plugged in a USB stick aswell. I was gonna create a new debian USB but I was to tired to notice I deleted the partition and created a new one on the picture backup hdd and formated I as ext4 and then I dd the image to it. I noises it when the USB did not boot on the other computer and I saw it was the hdd that was containing all the files.
So is it possible to recover all the picture that was formated away and overwritten with dd?

Aug 11, 2010i can't even get that far on the ebay website. i've been using ubuntu on this computer for years, it all seems to be set up correctly, i have flash installed and can view videos, i have java installed and can view applets.go to url... and click the link on the top right that says sell. log in if you have to, enter a keyword, choose your category to sell in and go to the next page. on this page there's a picture section and the header says, "bring your item to life with pictures." next to it there's a link which allows you to show/hide options for where the picture comes from so you can upload one, link to a website, plus other options. i click the link to show the option for uploading a picture and it just brings me to the top of the page. each time i click that link it just brings me to the top of the page.
i thought maybe it was trying to open a popup window that got blocked but there's no notification in the url like there usually is, it just moves me to the top of the page and that's it.

When I log into my myspace account, and I choose to upload photos and I click browse, it links me to my desktop but when I open up my photo album, all I get is an empty box. now the problem comes with overwrite if there are two files with same name. Is there any simple way to copy all files into one directory and not to loose any, appending certain, even random char, to the 2nd file would do.

Mar 30, 2015I use an android app (Exif4film) for recording EXIF data (only aperture, shutter speed) when shooting an old analog full-manual film camera.
Everytime i take a shot, i dial in the app the shutter speed and aperture settings. Later i want to see if my settings were right.
The app exports an xml file. What software should i use to extract the exposure settings and to put them on the corresponding picture?
OpenSUSE :: Thumbnails Not Appearing For Pictures In Folders
May 18, 2011I am trying to figure out how to get all my pictures in my folders to have a thumbnail I have gone under view-adjust view properties and selected "show preview" option and than selected all folders at the bottom of the screen. I also went back under the view menu and made sure that the preview box was checked. Only maybe less than half of my pictures are able to be previewed is this a common problem.
