I am having problems uploading my pictures into myspace. When I log into my myspace account, and I choose to upload photos and I click browse, it links me to my desktop but when I open up my photo album, all I get is an empty box. But yet I can access my pictures from my desktop direct. Does anyone have any solutions ?? I am Using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala.

I an app on my Myspace Page and I am unable to view my dressing room in my super pets app. I get the same results from my super pets app as I do when I try to upload photos. Although the stuff is there, I get an empty box. What do I need to do to be able to open my photos from my space and actually see my pictures there and not an empty box?? or open my super pets app and see my stuff there and not an empty box ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn several websites, such as WordPress and Facebook, when I go to upload pictures, in the window that pops up, all that I see is a big, empty box, even if pictures are in there. For example, let's say I navigate to my picture folder to choose a picture of my dog to upload. Neither the picture nor any of the other pictures in the folder will appear. Just a big, gray box, almost as if the folder were empty. Strangely, random pictures that I have downloaded from the web, such as one of Martin Luther that I have, show up. But even then, not all the pictures that I have downloaded!
This is perplexing to say the least!
Is this happening/has this happened to anyone before? Is it a bug in Ubuntu or have I neglected to download something important?
i can't even get that far on the ebay website. i've been using ubuntu on this computer for years, it all seems to be set up correctly, i have flash installed and can view videos, i have java installed and can view applets.go to url... and click the link on the top right that says sell. log in if you have to, enter a keyword, choose your category to sell in and go to the next page. on this page there's a picture section and the header says, "bring your item to life with pictures." next to it there's a link which allows you to show/hide options for where the picture comes from so you can upload one, link to a website, plus other options. i click the link to show the option for uploading a picture and it just brings me to the top of the page. each time i click that link it just brings me to the top of the page.
i thought maybe it was trying to open a popup window that got blocked but there's no notification in the url like there usually is, it just moves me to the top of the page and that's it.
I have Fujifilm A850 camera and i wanted to know how to get it working with ubuntu 10.04 LTS Linux so i can upload all my photos,as when i plug it in screen comes on and goes off,it is cos aint compatable?cos it works fine on windows.

View 5 Replies View RelatedRunning Ubuntu 10.10 along side Windows7 on a 64-bit HP Pavilion dv7 Laptop. Everything works in Windows. Everything works in Ubuntu, except for 2 things.1) I can live with not being able to enable/disable wifi.) I cannot read photos from an SD card plugged into the laptops SD card reader. When I open the SD card in Ubuntu, I can see the file name, but the thumbnails show messed up pictures. Usually, the bottom half of the photo is solid green, and there are usually lines running through the photo, or it is divided into quadrants with one quadrant being ok, but the rest having the green and/or lines.I assume the driver for the card reader is not correct. Card reader works fine in Windows. So I have to reboot into windows, copy pictures from reader to a folder, then reboot into Ubuntu and I can see and open the photos just fine. Just cannot read and copy them from the card while in Ubuntu.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded Opera, and I actually kind of like it and am thinking about making it my regular browser instead of Firefox. (I have version 10.10 by the way.) However, I can't check my Myspace account, because every time I sign in it tells me I need to enable Javascript to use the site. I have Javascript enabled in the site settings and global settings. Myspace worked fine until I randomly hit 'Mask as Firefox' for no real reason, and now it won't work, even though I have it set back to 'Identify as Opera,' the default setting.

According to the book the server should set the image in a cryptic folder in the /tmp/ folder.
This isn't working and i also try'd locate and find to find the image i uploaded. I checked the php.ini and file uploads were on but no folder so i set that one to /tmp/ but still no images. Can anyone help me with enabling this function?

I have been using digikam in linux, and I like it because I can just browse the pictures directly from my directories (and it is easy for me to keep directories synchronized within mac and linux).
I have been testing iphoto and aperture, which are quite nice but if use them, my understanding is that I have to import all the pictures into these softwares, and this doesn't seem to be the ideal solution for me. I tried picasa, but I don't find it as good as iphoto and aperture. On the other hand it allows me to browse directories, without having two copies of the same pictures.
I used GnomeBaker to burn photos from my digital camera onto a CD. I have a ThinkPad R51e with Ubuntu 8.04 installed as the only operating system. I do think that I will be able to use GnomeBaker to put photos on the CDs but I was wondering if there wasn't something that would be better.

I have overlooked some very important tools that would give me the information I'm looking for. What I'm trying to do is -
Plug in a USB camera
find /dev/camera-pseudonym
mount /dev/camera-pseudonym /camera
cp * ~/pictures
umount /dev/camera-pseudonym
and then work on adding this camera to /etc/fstab so that it will automatically mount to the usual place. I don't know how to find the pseudonym. I can, lsusb and see Bus 004 Device 009: ID 040a:05c1 Kodak Co. Digital Camera I can fdisk -l and not see any new partitions (which, with most USB devices with storage, I can usually see the partition listed in fdisk -l) After these two commands related to search FOR the pseudonym, I draw a blank and resort to manually searching /dev for things that may be useful.
This is difficult, though, because there are dozens of files named usb-something, and they're all very similar to one another, and not related to typical pseudonyms I'm used to (like /dev/usb[0-9], /dev/sd[a-z], etc) I would like to be able to find the /dev entry based on the ID 040a:05c1 because every USB devices I've tried has been listed by lsusb, and is accompanied by an ID number.How do I find the pseudonym in /dev for any usb device?

View 7 Replies View RelatedTrying to find a way to have the find command perform a search using multiple file extensions such as "find all pics" i.e. .jpg, .png, .gif, .raw etc. I would have thought something like the following would have worked, but apparently I'm doing something wrong:
sudo find / -type f -iname "*.jpg" "*.png" "*.gif" -printf
I'm guessing find simply doesn't support more than one "-name/-iname" at a time? Or perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way? I realize most times there's several different ways to skin a cat when a task is requested in linux/unix.
Need a Linux solution for looped slideshow from pictures in some folder. Pictures may be deleted and added, so it's a bonus if it doesn't stop/crash if currently shown picture is deleted.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a security cam watched by a computer with Motion. on that computer i use hdparm -S 240 /dev/hdb to stop the harddrive where the pictures go from running when not used (witch is usually 2 days in a row). Now when motion is detected, the first 3 or 4 pictures are saved, and then there is a pauze for about 5 sec. before the next picture. This has to do with the hard-disk spinning up (I tried without), but I don't understand why not more pictures are held in memory until the disk is ready. how to solve this without having the disk running all days?, or what i should start reading

# /usr/sbin/groupadd ftp-users
2. User test1 has been added to the group of ftp-users with /home/ftp-docs as home directory
# /usr/sbin/usermod -g ftp-users -d /home/ftp-docs test1
3. Ownership and permission of /home/ftp-docs has been changed to provide read/write access to user test1 and group ftp-users
# chown test1.ftp-users /home/ftp-docs
# chmod 770 /home/ftp-docs
But My intention is for the user who login with test1 user privileges, he should not be able to browse any other directories say /, /var /etc etc. Also he should not be able to change to any other directory. How can I accomplish this ?
I have CENTOS server with suPHP installed. The user (UID) and group (GID) are different for PHP files. But when I upload any file using FTP, it makes user:user and suphp fails to parse it. I then change the ownership (using ssh) as user:group for the php file and it works.

How do I download (upload) engrave-11.py from "Simple G-Code Generators Written in Python"? One of my home workshop project is a small engraver using a small micrometer linear table and three small steppers. It works fine with Stickfont - a free download - but I need something more sophisticated such as Engrave-11.py. When I follow the instructions from the Wiki I finish up with what I believe to be the source code and no means of generating an executable file.
