As you can see in the 3082 line, the path says /usr/lib/banshee/Banshee.exe... I didn't knew I was backporting Wine to run banshee.
Ubuntu :: The Program "Force Quit" Is Frozen
Mar 11, 2011I have added to my Panel the "Force Quit" program to click and use so I don't have to type it in on the rare occasions that I need it. I accidentally clicked it today not needing it. Not knowing this would be an issue, I clicked on it thinking it would force itself to quit and just close itself. I know I should have just hit esc to close it.
The problem I have now is that it is now frozen on my screen and for the life of me I cant figure out how to get rid of it. Yes I tried esc. I tried opening System Monitor and looking for it to end the prog and couldn't find it. I know I could fix this by just restarting the x server, but at the moment I happen to have several things open that I either cannot save right now or are actively running.

Mar 21, 2010I've Fedora 11 64-bit with Sun java SDK 1.6.0_18 and when quitting eclipse, the GUI window will be gone, but the process eclipse and java that it instantiates will not die. Subsequent execution of eclipse just creates new eclipse and java processes, taking up more memory. It doesn't matter whether I run from the command line or from the gnome menu.I tried both Fedora packaged eclipse-platform-3.4.2-20.fc11.x86_64 and the manually downloaded Eclipse Galilio, with the same problem. I tried removing ~/workspace/, ~/.eclipse and also tried -clean option, but still no go. I also have ~/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_*/configuration/config.iniosgi.bundlefile.limit=100 as explained in other threads which solves the start problem, but it has no effect for stopping.l -9.

Jun 29, 2009Why my weather and temperature quit displaying after I upgraded to FC11 from FC10. I used to see sun or clouds and the current temp. Now just the date and time. I have the location set, and even tried removing the clock and re-added to the taskbar.. still no luck. I know it worked with fc9 and fc10. Not sure if it worked in fc11 and then stopped working, or never worked at all.

Sep 21, 2010I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with onboard ICH9R RAID support. I have successfully used this with Fedora 9 in a striped configuration.Upon moving to Fedora 13 (fresh/clean install from scratch), I've noticed that it is no longer using dmraid. It now appears to be using mdadm. Additionally, I need to select load special drivers (or something close to that) during the install to have it find my array - which I've never had to do before with F9. While the install appears to work ok and then subsequently run, my array is reporting differences .. presumably because it is trying to manage what mdadm is also trying to manage. More importantly, I can no longer take a full image and successfully restore it as I could with the dmraid F9 install. Is there anyway to force F13 to use the dmraid it successfully used previously?

Jul 18, 2009I have messed up, I downloaded something about gnash through the repositories trying to get a flash player to feed my little house on the prairie on ..... habit(I know, addiction is sad). Anyway, it didn't work but now it won't let me remove it. I have flash player installed but it's doing the same thing as gnash by itself, I have black lines across the screen instead of a flash player. Is their some way I can force it to remove gnash?

May 9, 2009Just wanted to ask a small question... I've set up a VPN connection to my university and i installed and configured everything ok, cause I can connect without any problems...
Now that I'm connected I want my browser to run through the VPN tunnel created by the connection so i can access certain sites that are else inaccessible, but how do i force my browser (I'm using firefox atm) to do that?
When I'm on MAC of Windows OS, as soon as i connect with a VPN, all connection run through them. Fedora seems to ignore the VPN connection and just continues to use my home-network to connect to the internet.
So the basic question is: how do i use the VPN connection.

It is a fresh system not an upgrade. The installation proceeds - but it starts to download everything from the network, not from the CDs. How do I prevent this and force it to load from the CDs?

Fedora Servers :: Force Php Mail() Through Postfix + Auth?
Mar 8, 2011I'm a bit lost with the PHP/Sendmail configuration, maybe somebody could help me getting back on the right track. Following situation:
Postfix:
* accepts smtp on port 25 but from his own domains. Some policy and spamchecks through amavisd are made.
* accepts submission on port 587 and 465 from authenticated users only. Quota and spamchecks prevent outgoing spam.
So I'm enforcing a very strong outgoing spam-policy but the users are still able to use the php mail() function to send spam through the /usr/sbin/sendmail command.
My users have access to their own php.ini so my idea was to somehow enforce the delivery through the local postfix on port 587 or 465 and just let them enter their user/pass in their php.ini. (I suppose, their might be a cleaner-solution ).
Unfortunately, my configurations like smtp_host, port, user etc. are getting ignored if the sendmail_path line is active. But if I comment this line out, php just uses the default, which is the same as configured in the sendmail_path line - so it's active whether i use the line or not (setting it to an invalid command breaks the mail() function completely).
how can I enforce my anti-spam policy on the php mail() command?For my ssh users I just blocked the outgoing connection to localhost on port 25 which seems to work so far, but somehow the postfix-sendmail-wrapper just ignores this.

Aug 12, 2011After a great deal of pain I have Fedora 15 running in Virtual Box 4.1 on a older Mac Book Pro running Lion. When I boot Fedora 15 I get a black screen. I can get a virtual console by banging on the fn ctrl option f2 keys I can then use 'startx' to get another black screen but clicking around for a bit gives me the gnome fallback windowing. Is there any way I can force the gnome fallback to start up directly on a reboot?
