Ubuntu :: Where The Gedit Saved Sessions Are Located

Jan 3, 2010

Do you know where the Gedit saved sessions are located? In my case I saved a session and titled it 'Redit'. I'd like to backup this 'Redit' file.

Ubuntu :: Restoring Saved Nautilus Sessions?

Jun 13, 2011

When I go to "/home/scribe/.config/session-state" I see several files that begin with the word "nautilus" and they have various date time stamps that lead me to believe they are snapshots of the nautilus folders I had opened on that day.

Is there an easy way I could "execute" on of those files so it would open up all of the nautilus windows I had opened on a particular day?

Ubuntu :: How To Find Where Fonts Are Located

Jun 20, 2010

I have been playing with my desktop and I've found that I prefer Nimbus Sans L to Arial for my default desktop font. Was going to put it on my "shared" folder so that other people in the house (not all running Linux) could try it if they liked. I can't find it! It doesn't appear to be in usr/share/fonts as you would expect. (I did find the other font that I wanted to share, Inconsolata...) However Nimbus Sans L does appear in the font selection menus for gnome, Oo.o, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc. Is there a way to find where the .ttf is located so that I can share it? It does appear to be properly installed, as it is distinct from the other Helvetica-like fonts that I have.

Ubuntu Installation :: Where Is The X11vnc Located In 11.04

May 9, 2011

I am working with Ubuntu for the first time since school and it was an intro class. I am trying to setup a file server for part of a school project. I installed x11vnc and am trying to set the password. However everywhere I look says the file would be located at ~/.vnc/passwd. However when I ls from the home directory .vnc does not exist. When I type out vncpasswd ~/.vnc/passwd I get returned a message The program 'vncpasswd' can be found in the following packages:

* tightvncserver
* vnc4server

how I can get this setup? Am I using old information that is no longer accurate or am i messing this up somewhere?

Ubuntu :: NFS Setup To Mount Drives Located On Desktop

Sep 27, 2010

I am trying to setup nfs to mount the drives located on my desktop, to my laptop, so I can watch them on my laptop rather then my desktop. I have both nfs server running on both the desktop and laptop. Desktop is running Arch Linux and the laptop is running Ubuntu, I keep getting this error claiming that the devices dont exist. I restarted all the services on both machines and tried editing my fstab/exports on both machines also but still nothing seems to be working.

Here is my nfs restart log from my laptop [URL]
And now desktop [URL]
Here is the export/fstab from my desktop [URL]
Now for my laptop export/fstab [URL]

There rather the same, but just wanted to include both for each machine just in case there is a distinct difference in something I did.
