Feb 4, 2010In Google Chrome Beta and in Epiphany, I am able to scroll through the different tabs with the middle mouse button. However, this doesn't happen in Firefox. Is there any way to implement a feature like this in Firefox?

May 11, 2010I want to be able to auto scroll by clicking my middle mouse button. In Firefox you can do this in the about:config easily, but with Google Chrome, I don't know what to do.
There is no Chrome option to allow this, so I guess I'd have to configure some stuff. Does anyone know how to do this? I really prefer Chrome over Firefox, and would like to go back to it, but can't without auto scroll.

Jun 17, 2011I recently purchased a Wacom Bamboo Pen Only (CTL-460). It's a great device and in Fedora 15 (x86_64) it worked out-of-the-box like a charm!
I don't miss the rubber or the extra keys on the tablet. But I'm having quite some trouble, using the pen as a mouse replacement in all day use. The following is with respect to usage outside GIMP and Inkscape (i.e. Firefox, Nautilus etc). What I would really like to have, is:
+ scrolling by pressing the "first button" and simply _moving_ the pen. Just like with my Thinkpad-Trackpoint: Here I press the middle key and can then scroll just by controlling the Trackpoint. Would already be cool, if I could scroll by pressing the "first button" and touching the tablet. A short tap while pressing the "first button" should still be a "middle click"!

Found a solution for "jamming at the edge of the screen". Just resized the "area" a bit (smaller) with xsetwacom...
Ubuntu :: Change Scroll Speed In Firefox?
Sep 7, 2010Is there anyway to change the scroll speed for the mouse in Firefox? Right now it leaps down a long way for each click of the scroll wheel, practically leaving me cross eyed and having to search for my position where I was reading. I can't seem to find a way to adjust this anywhere.

Ubuntu :: Firefox - When Open Up A New Web Page It Does Not Automatically Allow To Scroll
May 31, 2010After installing a bunch of new updates with the update manager a few problems have popped up regarding the scrolling in firefox with the arrow keys. The first problem is that when I open up a new web page it does not automatically allow me to scroll. I have to first click the web page and then are the arrow keys enabled. The second problem that I have is that when I press the down arrow key to scroll down in the beginning it jumps down to the end of the page. The third and final problem is how it scrolls. For some reason a site in firefox acts like a word document. Instead of be the arrow keys controlling the scroll bar it controlls the little I symbol you see when typing.
It is amazing how annoying it can be when you can't scroll with the arrow keys. If nobody knows how to then I will probably just reinstall firefox. I have also just figured out that page up and down also do not work.

Sep 16, 2010Usually but not always, when I try to scroll down by clicking in the vertical scroll bar - instead of going down approx 1 screen firefox slowly and jerkily and out of control goes all the way to the bottom of the page. If it is a long page I wait a long time.
The wheel on the mouse works fine, moving the vertical scroll handle with the mouse works fine, pushing the down arrow also works fine.
Alternatively - sometimes the vertical scroll works as I expect it to.
Alterntively - when I use Opera it scrolls as I would expect.

Nov 20, 2010Hi, very new to opensuse. I have 64bit 11.3 and its been working very well. My problem is that in Firefox: I have Firefox 3.6.12 when i scroll down using the mouse scroll wheel (not up?) most of the time, but not all the time i get horizontal lines instead of the "real picture". This also happens when i use my keyboard's down arrow key.
When i go slower it seems to happen less often. Also if i click off the page and back on again the display is fine. Is this problem my graphics card? Firefox? or my mouse/keyboard?

May 18, 2010I am doing some Linux kernel programming for my research project. I need to record the timestamp (by using cpuid and rdtsc) when an interrupt handler (top half) is first invoked. Due to the time critical nature of the problem itself, I have to do the timestamping inside the interrupt handler itself (the first operation when the handler is called). However, I understand that tasks that are not so time critical should be deferred to a tasklet function (bottom half) for processing because other interrupts are disabled in a (top-half) interrupt handler. I am currently out of idea on how I can pass the timestamp information that I have obtained in the interrupt handler to the corresponding tasklet function.

Ubuntu :: Middle And Right Click With Touchpad (10.04)?
May 11, 2010I use middle click much more than right with my Asus EEEpc 900, so I prefer to use it with two fingered tap. Default configurations for multiple finger taps are 2 = right and 3 = middle. I got this reversed with this guide ("Make middleclicking work in Firefox again...":[URL] but after an update it doesn't work anymore. I tried to install the .deb again, but Ubuntu tells me that the system already has a newer version of it.
P.S. If only we'd get this configured straight from the GUI of mouse settings like the scrolling options...

Jan 6, 2010I was in the middle of updates when a console message appeared stating it needed permission to exit while others were logged on to my computer.so I clicked cancel because the terminal was still clearly configuring the kernel update.upon clickingh cancel the system crashed and would not boot.what should I do if the system wants to log off befotre its done .was this an early message that would have worked itself out?I have never used gparted before but I know that I will never get a second installation to take without all of the settings being screwed up.
