I've run into a slight problem. As you can tell, I cannot connect to my HP printer through bluetooth. I've followed the Ubuntu documentation: [URL]... but I get stuck at actually connecting to the device. Here's the terminal output:

I am unable to connect to my printer wirelessly. I get this: Idle - "Connecting to printer..." The computer never connects. I can print a configuration report and get the ip address. If I type that in a webrowser, I get an error: unable to connect. Even if I plug the printer into the computer by a usb, I am unable to access the printer's ip address in the webrowser. I'm not sure how to proceed on getting the printer working wirelessly. It is a hp 6940 I use the HP Deskjet 6940 Series hpijs, 3.10.2rc1.9 driver. I have only recently been having printer problems. The printer has been hooked up on the same network for years. It still prints via usb.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with Bluetooth on Debian 8 Jessie i just can't connect to any bluetooth device, i have only tested my smartphone and my bluetooth headphones, i am using blueman manager.After attempting to connect to my bluetooth headphones/smartphone it just disconnects and says "Connection Failed: No such file or directory",i don't know if i have to create a config file or something, the error message doesn't say anything but the error previously mentioned.

My main box is usb connected to my HP Photosmart 7600 and works fine, my daughter has her winxp box connected to it over network as well. My wife's Ubuntu box (same OS and version as mine 9.10) CANNOT connect in any way, shape or form. I've tried every protocal, port, helper program (hp-setup, cups local webpage etc..) and nothing. I have the printer shared.
why connecting to a network printer in the same OS and version would take so much work?
Also we're all on the same network, & subnet with no filtering or firewalling in between the boxes.
*resolved* After trying everything else I restarted cups on the box the printer is attached and everything mysteriously works.
I have a network printer which is on a windows domain/workgroup. Earlier I use to connect to the printer with URI socket://10.x.x.x:9100 and it worked fine. Then I after some time the going got tough and at the moment I am not able to print.
Initially I thought that I need to upgrade CUPS and even downloaded its latest version (did not installed it though).
My trouble shooting started with the ping then telnet followed it. Following is the output of telnet

I tried to telnet by turning off the firewall but no good. Hope someone has a solution to this issue.

Have split hard drive into Windows 7 OS & Ubuntu OS. The printer connected to Windows 7 with no problems but I am unable to load the printer in Ubuntu 11.04.
The printer is Lexmark Prevail Pro700 series.
I'm having some problems with sharing my printer via SAMBA. Connected to my Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop is a HP office-jet D135 witch I shared via samba. I have no problems printing from my Ubuntu laptop. And in Vista I can see and access all the other shares, including the printer. But ones i try to access the printer I get a pop-up window telling me: "unable tot connect to printer error code 0x00000709 check if the name is correct or if the printer is connected to the network" ( but of course in Dutch). I've bought a HP Photosmart printer, HP Photosmart wireless e-All-in-One printer - B110a and i've got a problem installing it properly. I'm using Debian 6.0 Squeeze. When i connect the printer, Debian doesn't recognize my printer as the Photosmart B109 printer for unknown reason. When i go to the site of HP and search for a driver, it directs me to this site:I've downloaded that latest hplip file as a .run file and installed it. My printer is recognized proparly, but when i try to print a colored image, it comes out black/white. Something is not crrect. Does anyone recognize this problem with this type HP printer?

The computer that has the printer and the files I want to access runs windows XP Home edition, and when I boot into XP on my machine, I can access the files and printer. Can this be fixed, or is Fedora incompatable with Windows XP in this case?

I read that Fedora 10 comes with an updated BlueZ 4 package, which has an improved gnome applet.

The applet discovers the printer, but fails pairing with the device. There seems to be short flash up of a pincode error message (which I cant read).
I've been using blurtooth printing with no problems since Fedora 6.

I am unable to add my USB printer via the YaST2 Printer Configuration setup tool in openSUSE 11.3. The printer, a Dell Color Laser 1320c, was last used with openSUSE 11.2, and setup was entirely uneventful. No driver is provided by Dell, so I used the Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C525A Linux driver. The problem: To add a print queue in 11.3, a Connection must be specified (parallel, USB, network, etc). However, the configuration wizard fails to show the presence of the USB print device.

This printer was working just eight weeks ago under 11.2, and 11.3 is obviously able to detect its presence and identify it correctly. I feel certain the solution is simple, but I haven't found documentation that provides the answer.
Is there any way to connect the phone via bluetooth on the laptop and once connected answer the phone through the computer as a handsfree kit?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Rocketfish bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo and am running Ubuntu 10.04. The mouse was easy to set up. I just went to the bluetooth icon and clicked add new device and it connected. The same wasn't true for the keyboard. It gives me the code to type so I typed it and pressed enter and... nothing. So I found a little tutorial and I had to install bluez and type in the terminal, "sudo hidd --search" then enter my password (which I needed to grab my other keyboard to do) and it connected. If I don't use it for a while or reboot, the keyboard will not connect. I have to do the hidd search again which means I need to keep my extra keyboard handy. I had it set up before where it would connect on a reboot, but I got a new hard drive and reinstalled Ubuntu, now I can't remember how I set it up. Could I have set up bluez wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running 9.10 Karmic and using Blueman 1.2 with the latest bluez stack. I have a pair of Sony DR-BT100CX bluetooth headphones. I've got them paired and working with my system. When I turn them on I can click on the blueman icon and then select the DR-BT100CX device and then choose to connect the Audio Sink. As soon as I do this my Pulseaudio is redirected and all system output is driven through the headphones. This is great!
My only issue is that I have to select the device (I don't have to re-pair it) when I turn it on. On my Windows system when I turn on the headphones the bluetooth detects them and connects and then audio routes through the headphones. I don't have to click on anything.
Does anybody know how to remove the need to click on the device and add the sync. When I turn my bluetooth mouse on the system picks it up and starts using it, so I know this is possible. I just can't find a simple way to make this happen with the headphones.
Im using a Samsung R420/R470 laptop with Broadcom bluetooth and a Prolink PMO624B mouse.My mouse works when I add it as a new device, but if I off the mouse and on it again, the mouse does not auto connect. I have to press and hold the connection button under the mouse and reconnect to the mouse.The mouse says that it is linux compatible, so I guess its a problem with my bluetooth drivers.

The trouble is, I only occasionally want to connect it to my laptop; I mostly use it with my mobile 'phone.
The two devices fight over my new toy a lot, and invariably the laptop wins, contrary to what I want. It seems a pain to have to rediscover the headset every time I want to use VIOP or whatever, so is there a way to add a device to Karmic's Bluetooth list, but not have it connect whenever it sees it?

I am using Debian sid(xfce). I have a bluetooth dongle and a bluetooth headset. The headset supports only the HFP and HSP profiles.
I think I have installed all the necessary packages but I have problems connecting to it. Pairing works, but connecting via a profile doesn't.
The dongle works great for transferring files to other devices.
When I tell blueman to connect to either profile of the headset it connects for maybe one second and then immediately disconnects with the error:
