At a real road block/standstill getting an apt-get repository working. I built a apt-get repository using reprepro here:

containing two packages gtm and astronaut-wv-server-beta It doesn't seem to work at all even though it seems as though it should.
I have some source of some packages( .dsc, diff.gz, orig.tar.gz) and I want to generate a [.changes] file for it so that I can use [reprepro] for generating my desired repository.
I read the manual of dpkg-genchanges and try with it however, It direct me to help of the command.
1. Can I generate from ( .dsc, diff.gz, orig.tar.gz) file a [.changes].
2. If question (1) is not possible, how can I use directly ( .dsc, diff.gz, orig.tar.gz) in reprepro for generating my repository.

i am running backtrack 4 (using kde 3.5.10) on my laptop with an ATI mobility radeon HD 4650 graphics card. i installed the proprietary drivers from the ati site, just as i always do in any linux installation. then i installed xgl, and all of the compiz packages, including compiz-kde, but for some reason, my system won't enable xgl rendering. every time i run either "compiz --replace" or "fusion-icon" in the terminal, i lose the borders of my windows, and every thing i've tried so far does not work.

As it is, Sun's JDK was removed so I need to add it per the release notes.

Computer reply's with "command not found". Running a whereis on add-apt-repository, it appears it is not installed.
2. How do I fix this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a (very old) svn repositoy on an ubunta dapper machine. I want to switch to another machine with lucid running. I simply want to "copy" the whole repository to the new machine. I've tried several ways, but the most succesful one was to do a dump on the old machine, copy the file to the new machine and do a load there. The repository has about 28.000 revisions. At revision 3130 it stopped with an error saying some path was not in UTF-8. I tried running a UTF-8 migrationtool on the dapper machine but this told me all files were UTF-8 compatible already. I am really stuck, even a two and a half hour google session didn't provide any answer.
edit: more specific, the error I get is:

The end should have been /database instead of ?218tabase. When I look in the revision on the dapper machine this path shows a square at that location, so this is wrong also. When I try to open the dumpdile in gedit I get an errormessage saying:

When I change the encoding I get the same error for that encoding.
I have been looking into setting up a local repository for updates etc as we have an increasing number of fedora clients/servers. Searching the web I found multiple how-to's on how to accomplish this little project. One thing that bothers me is that each how-to seems to refer to a "static URL" mirror for rsync to get the rpms.

I'm attempting to create the repository in /home/svn/foo with the command svnadmin create /home/svn/foo while in /home/svn.
I am greeted with the error: svnadmin: SQLite compiled for 3.6.20, but running with 3.6.17
I installed subversion via yum install subversion
I've installed SQLite 3.6.22 from source and removed/installed subversion with no change.
What gives? I wasn't really wanting to install subversion from source. Seems a bit excessive.
