Ubuntu :: Dpkg-genchanges/reprepro For Making Repository?

I have some source of some packages( .dsc, diff.gz, orig.tar.gz) and I want to generate a [.changes] file for it so that I can use [reprepro] for generating my desired repository.
I read the manual of dpkg-genchanges and try with it however, It direct me to help of the command.
1. Can I generate from ( .dsc, diff.gz, orig.tar.gz) file a [.changes].
2. If question (1) is not possible, how can I use directly ( .dsc, diff.gz, orig.tar.gz) in reprepro for generating my repository.

At a real road block/standstill getting an apt-get repository working. I built a apt-get repository using reprepro here:

I'm making my own yum repository - firstly so that all the machines I administer can be updatedvia the internal network, secondly so that I can test any updates on a spare machine before passing them on, and thirdly so that I can add my own repo for internal software.
I've created the necessary folders under my webserver, and used rsync to update them from my local CentOS mirror, following the instructions at [URL]
I notice it says to run "createrepo" on the base repository, created by copying the rpms from release DVD.
When I rsynced the updates repo, but I notice that the files in repodata are very small. In fact, having a look inside them, filelists.xml contains no file details. But if I run createrepo in the updates directory, filelists.xml gets lots of file details inside it.
I wondered if maybe the local mirror hadn't been updated properly, but checking against mirror.centos.org shows that has the same files.
how does the (real, live, CentOS) updates repo work when there is nothing in the filelists?

how to modify an existing slackbuild from slackbuilds.org to check source out of a git repo instead of downloading a tarball? Slackbuild in question is 'scantailor'.I could just change the 'info' file to point to a git snapshot URL, but I would have trouble with the version numbers and tarball checksums needing manual updating, no?

im trying to update some software in ubuntu using the update manager. i type my password in CORRECTLY but then get this error message.

I'm having some issues building deb packages. dh_make --createorig behaves as expected, but when I attempt to buld the package with dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot the build dies on a dpkg-source error.

I installed the software Ubuntu Tweak yesterday and I was satisfied of how it worked. today, surfing the internet I was hoping to find a solution to a couple of problems that I have: the computer sometimes get stuck when opening videos or photos - I can't see streaming TV. when the internet browser was asking me to install plug-in in order to show the videos I tried to install them but errors occurred.
so I followed the instruction in [URL] (many of these things didn't work and the terminal was showing error messages...) now after rebooting I have got the unity 2D I think (which is fine as I can't notice great differences) but I can't install the updates from Ubuntu Tweak the error message is: E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. I want to install gcc on my Pyramid linux which is debian based. I downloaded gcc.deb. When I want to install this file, it gives me "dpkg command not found" error! I also get this error when I want to install other .deb files using dpkg command " dpkg -i finename.deb. I did some research and it seams that I should install package on my system, but package file is .deb file and I can't install .deb file! What should I do to solve the problem??? Should I install any thing on my system to install .deb files??

Today I installed Fedora12 from the DVD, so this is my first contact with all of you. The last years I ran very well with gentoo, but the time for system maintenance got to big the last few times I updated the system, so I decided to change and here am I. yum is completely broken. I cannot install or update any software. yum is always throwing:
Code: Loaded plugins: presto, refresh-packagekit Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist?repo=free-fedora-12&arch=x86_64 error was 14: PYCURL ERROR 7 - "" Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: rpmfusion-free. Please verify its path and try again I have tried globally to disable the gpg check as stated in other threads. I have no proxies or such in yum.conf or in my bashrc. If I manually click on the link it will resolve in firefox so I am sure it is not my net connection per se, it seems yum or curl is adding a : to the end of the url thats why it wont resolve properly.
I have done a yum clean all , which didnt really help either. reinstalling the rpmfusion repos isnt an option either as I start getting curl errors in the terminal. I am really at a loss here and am completely out of ideas as I cant install any updates or software , at first I thought the repositories were having problems with the holidays but this has been going on for 4 days now. /var/log/messages isnt showing anything either.

I updated my up to date F12 to F13. I have what must be a 640X480 display with no way to change it. I get an error:
"Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: pgdg90. Please verify its path and try again" on all Yum commands so no yum installs are possible. I don't have the /usr/bin/GLX command So theAIGLX doesn't work.
