I erased Windows a week ago and is loving Ubuntu 10.04 (which changed to xubuntu after installing Qimo for Kids??) ever since. Now I want to get coding again and PHP is working fine, but I can't access mysql!?I followed a ton of guides, completely removed, reinstalled etc. Nothing works. Here some stuff that might be interresting. I can't remember the "ls" and "awk" and "grep" commands to use, so please guide me if you need more info.
sudo mysql status

I set up mod_proxy in order to get rid of :8080 now I cant access phpmyadmin through the browser. what is the quickest way to turn off mod_proxy and access phpmyadmin? I would like to optimize the tables and back up the sql file. I just need to turn it on for a bit, and then enable mod_proxy again.Right now, if I got to localhost/phpmyadmin, it redirects to the main application.
I have used a2enmod, and added sudo a2enmod proxy sudo a2enmod proxy_http sudo a2enmod proxy_ajp
I'm running an Ubuntu 9.04 Minimal server and trying to get MySQL to work correctly. But when I try to access MySQL with the root user it doesn't want to.
We started our project (it's a website "employee performance appraisal system") in windows by starting with some html forms and then slowlyadded php ,javascript and other stuff in windows we had no issues of insertion and retrieval of data from thedatabase. Now,we decided to shift the entire stuff to drupal the html forms along with those php files but we had 2 issues with this1. the first one was ..we created "page" for each html form and copied the html code into "page" but we didn't find where our pages are getting stored (do they get stored in mysql database that we create for drupal siter do they remain as html pages somwhere?)2.second problem was ...for admin in drupal I gave the username "root" and a password ..similarly for mysql also I gave a password.
now I used phpmyadmin and created another database called "appraisal" which is supposed to hold the data of our website.when I try to insert data into one of the tables of this database (attendance table) ,the following error occured "Attempt to connect failed access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'(using password:NO) cannot run querry insert intoattendance values('x','y')" Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (usingpassword:NO)Also I'm unable to access mysql as a normal user only super user can access and can we unset the password that's required to reach mysqlprompt?
One server is a dedicated MySQL server. After upgrading that one to Ubuntu 10.04 (from an ancient Suse 9.2), both servers are running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.I have another server that I use to administer the database server via phpMyAdmin. However since the upgrade it is not able to connect. I get an error #1130 Cannot log in to the MySQL server. The same happens if I try to connect remotely from the command line with: mysql -u root -h 129.79.137.121 -pI'm not sure if this is an iptables/ports problem or a configuration problem on the MySQL end or something else entirely.I've searched and tried the suggestions I've found in various places but none seems to have fixed it.
I configured the server freeradius with mysql and I think I configured well freeradius and mysql but when I m testing my configuration with: radtest nezar azerty 127.0.0.1 0 azerty1234 I have always: rad_recv: Access-Reject packet from host 127.0.0.1 port 1812, id=108, length=20
I am up and running. Symptom: webapp/servlet deployed to Tomcat, utilizes JDBC driver for MySQL connectivity. Upon launching application in browser and performing action requiring database interaction, exception thrown, server log:
WinXP Host Ubuntu 10.04 is the guest Mysql is installed in ubuntu and it works fine in the guest (ubuntu) Internet works fine in the host and the guest. Bridged Network.
Now, here is the thing... i want to access mysql from my host to load some data into it.
I can not access my MySQL database from any remote host on my home network, I keep getting "Access denied for user 'dbuser'@'192.168.1.10' (using password: YES)"
From what I've read this seems to be a permission problem, I tried
My Linux server which is running my company website have been hacked. Today I saw a number of clients (customers) with some fun characters entries on my database. Access denial on really clients.
I was trying to install MySQLbd (a module for python to connect and access MySQL) I followed these steps for installation[URL].. but while I am getting some installation errors. When I try to run $ python set.py build I am getting the following errors (I removed few errors as I can post more than 10000 characters here)
I set up a servber on my local machine, & also PHp - Both working fine.I'm trying to load up MYSQL i have installed it, & *can* start/stop the server. however if I do anything else with it, I get this error :-
Quote:
root@gordon-desktop:~# sudo mysqladmin -u root -h localhost password MYPASSWORD mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'
Query :-
1) How do I know MYSQL is actually active ? (apart from the message it says that its statrted (or stopped).
2) Is there a way to
a) Find out the usernames that are recorded on the MYSQL server ? b) set / RESET the 'root' username (I know MYSQL root user is different to PC root user) c) anything else I can do on the PHP / website code to see if MYSQL is working
(as yet, no tables / databases etc have been set up - as I can't get past this error message - I get the same error when setting up a database.)
Ps I did allow my usermname (when logged in to ubuntu) to edit / create files in the /usr/www/ directory (but it is still OWNED by 'root' - that directory)
I have install mysql on my fedora12. My different mysql server is located in us. I want to check health status and hits per seconds everything. Is it possible with mysql-administrator command.
now a these days i am connect through ssh and excuting below command
#mytop mysql -u root -p <passwd>
In my mysql db i have added the userip & passwd (allowed the privileages for that ip)
If i use mysql-administrator i am getting below error
MySQL Error Nr. 2003 Can't connect to MySQL server on '66.98.152.64' (111)
I have installed Mysql in Ubuntu 9, for the use of roundcube database. After installing iam getting the error like this
* Stopping MySQL database server mysqld [ OK ] * Starting MySQL database server mysqld [ OK ] * Checking for corrupt, not cleanly closed and upgrade needing tables.
So because of this in the roundcube configuration its giving the error message that MYSQL is not installed. So Kindly give me a idea how to solve this.
I am using fedora on my home pc. Due to some reasons fedora is does not show my GUI interface. I want to access my shell prompt. how can I access my system at prompt so I may troubleshoot my system
Everything was working well between my Windows 7 shares and all three of my Ubuntu machines. I just replaced my buggy belkin router with a Netgear one and now none of the Ubuntu machines can open my windows box through Nautilus. All three (one 10.04, 2 10.10) can see the Windows box but when I click on it I get the never ending password prompts. My Mac can access the Windows 7 machine fine, and all three Ubuntu boxes can access the shares with CIFS/autofs. I just can't browse the available shares using Places->Network. I'm lead to believe something on Win 7 reset when I changed the router but after two days I'm at a loss as to what it could be.
I do regular updation of my system. Today, I have updated my ubuntu system, but after booting I am getting only grub> command prompt. I am not able to see my main login screen. - I am using 11.04. - I have ubuntu 10.04 cd.
I am trying to access another partition on my drive through the command prompt. I have tried to access it through the /dev directory but when I input "cd ./sda1" or "cd /sda1" it says no such file or directory.
I have been reading guides for a while now and so far have not found an exact solution to my problem.
I want a linux user (dave) to be able to switch to another account (patrol) without a password prompt, but dave must still be denied access to root. Patrol must also be denied root access.
In the sudoers file
Code: User_Alias Patrol=dave, john root ALL=(ALL) ALL Patrol ALL=(patrol) NOPSSWD: ALL
I am trying to get mysql to start at boot without any success.
The mysqld scripts works fine when run from the command line, but it does not work when i use the links created by chkconfig. I checked the boot.log and found that mysql starts but then it stops or gets shutdown. This is the log message:
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /data/mysql [ OK ] Starting cups: [ OK ] STOPPING server from pid file /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid starting DenyHosts: /usr/bin/denyhosts.py --daemon --config=/usr/share/denyho sts/denyhosts.cfg 090727 04:35:47 mysqld ended
I have a pretty fresh install on Ubuntu 10.10 Server, with the LAMP bundle installed. Anyway, I just restarted the computer after changing the /etc/network/interfaces script to connect via dhcp. Now when I boot into the server, there is no command prompt and seems to hang there forever, with one blinking cursor in the top left hand corner of the screen. It will not respond to any input besides ctrl-alt-delete. I was able to press control-alt-delete and the computer automatically restarted itself, but it returns to the same state after each reboot. I booted from the grub menu into recovery mode and made sure the /etc/network/interfaces script was correct, and it is. Also I don't think an error in this file should cause the computer to not boot into the command prompt.
I have a Debian etch system I haven't fired up for about a year because the mobo went bad.I had one user setup, I hammered it with all my normal passwords and finally got a prompt that said 'Access Denied'So my understanding is that I figured out my PW, but for some reason this user doesn't have access anymore. Is there a workaround for this? I am just trying to retrieve some files from the drive I don't have a problem formatting it.
Also I tried hooking it up to a windows machine:I loaded Ext2 IFS, it recognizes the drive, but says it can't load it - something to do with the headers being closed out improperly, and basically said I would have to boot it in linux then try it in windows.I tried this after I got to the linux logon prompt (the bootloader had scanned the drive because it hadn't been scanned for x amount of days), this didn't help Ext IFS read the drive.
I am using Ubuntu 9.04 Server. I use screen alot for persistant sessions and suddenly I have a problem. When I type Code: screen -R -DD as usual, I get into screen but there is no command prompt. There is a cursor and I can type commands which work, eg ls. However I don't know which directory I am in, so it makes using it rather hard.
I'm trying to jump Ubuntu Server 10.04.1 x86_64 on an HP DL360 G5. After loading the modules for install, I'm greeted with an iSCSI prompt that cannot be bypassed. Hitting Finish brings me right back to the same iSCSI prompt. The issue seems to be identical to y kickseed file is as follows:
Code: #platform=x86, AMD64, or Intel EM64T # System authorization information
On startup - prompt asking for apache certificate password doesn't accept input. Can switch to another tty but can't restart apache due to the port already being bound (suppose I could change ports for apache config after startup but that's pretty ugly and clearly not the right way to address the problem.
I'm having a problem with my webdav share. I have a secure webdav folder that gets accessed via a non-standard port and requires basic authentication. I can connect and interact with it fine via cadaver. However, when I try to connect from nautilus, it says "Access was denied." To make it even stranger, sometimes I can click on the folder in nautilus (it still mounts) and access it. Sometimes not (just repeats the error message and won't show me the contents). I may not even un-mount it, but just look at other folder, then click it again and be able to access it, but again - only rarely.
I asked a friend to try connecting from his windows vista computer and it would not work. It would not work from my windows XP virtual computer either. However, it mounts and works just find from my work computer (also Windows XP).
So it seems to be a 50/50 chance that the drive will mount on any given computer/system and work. Do anyone know what the problem may be? I'm guessing user permissions, but I can't figure out what.
I've made sure the webdav folder is owned by www-data and www-data has read access to the password file as well.
When I try connecting from nautilus, I get this in the log file:
Code:
Here is one of the (many) sites I've tried looking at: [url]
