I click on the file, select open with opera's bit torrent client, and the OK the next window and it does nothing.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Flash In Opera Doesn't Work Any More?
Jun 19, 2011after I upgraded from Lucid to Natty, Flash doesn't work in Opera any more. In Firefox I have no problems.
As suggested in another thread, I tried installing Flash-Aid for Firefox and reinstalled Flash with this extension, but no luck. I also tried purging and reinstalling Opera:
sudo apt-get purge opera
sudo apt-get install opera
No luck.

Apr 8, 2011I have torrentflux set up on my server running ubuntu 10.10 server edition. It seems to worked perfectly when downloading, but it never makes any connections when seeding. I've done some searching but haven't found any clues as to what could be the problem.

Jan 14, 2010I recently installed Opera 10.10, and I'm loving the browser.I decided to try out some themes, decided I didn't like them, and went back to the default theme which I like.Now though, the right click menu of the mouse doesn't actually load a theme - similar to when a program that needs root privilages (Synaptec package manager for example) won't be skinned unless you put a theme folder in the .root directory.I've attached an image of the right click menu.how to get Opera to load the Gtk (I think) theme or inbuilt theme for context menus. I've tried removing/reinstalling, but it didn't work
Edit: Just noticed - buttons, and windows inside opera, aren't being themed either.So it seems anything that requires themes outside of Opera's main window won't work.
Software :: Opera 10.60 Doesn't Know "notrayicon" - Doesn't Start
Jul 4, 2010The new release of Opera 10.60 doesn't recognize the -notrayicon option anymore. If you had this option in your menu, then Opera doesn't start anymore and dies silently. You won't get an error message, and this error can keep you quite puzzled.
The solution is to remove the -notrayicon option from the menu entry. In opera, go to opera:conf and find the "notrayicon" option and disable it.
Ubuntu Installation :: Opera 10.61 Windows Installer Doesn't Open
Dec 9, 2010I downloaded wubi.exe from Opera 10.61. The file downloads ok, but then refuses to do anything when I click on the file.
I also switched to my IE version, and tried to run the file from there. Again, I get the hourglass symbol for a couple of seconds, then nothing.
I'm running Windows 98. I know, I should have a newer version, but finances can't manage that right now. In the meantime, is there a manual way to run the installer for wubi and get it to work?
Ubuntu :: Myspace Does Not Work In Opera
Mar 3, 2010I just downloaded Opera, and I actually kind of like it and am thinking about making it my regular browser instead of Firefox. (I have version 10.10 by the way.) However, I can't check my Myspace account, because every time I sign in it tells me I need to enable Javascript to use the site. I have Javascript enabled in the site settings and global settings. Myspace worked fine until I randomly hit 'Mask as Firefox' for no real reason, and now it won't work, even though I have it set back to 'Identify as Opera,' the default setting.

Mar 22, 2009I've got a box running Etch which seems to have a bad memory controller (I get segmentation faults left, right and centre) so I've built a new 'puter with twice the CPU power (2.4Ghz Intel Q6600 vs Athlon 1000+) and four times the RAM (2Gig vs 512M). I downloaded Lenny three days ago and, apart from some screen resolution issues which I've been discussing in the Newbie forum, most things have been working just fine.
However, I downloaded Opera yesterday (opera_9.64.2480.gcc4.qt3_i386.deb - same version I've been using on the Etch box) and I've seen some strange behaviour. A lot of sites, this one for example, work as expected, but if I go to, for example, www.bbc.co.uk or www.guardian.co.uk, the hyperlinks don't work, the cursor doesn't change to a hand when I hover over the links and clicking over the links doesn't do anything. The same pages work normally using Opera on my Etch box so it seems to be an issue with Lenny, or maybe Gnome on Lenny (I have KDE on the Etch box).

Jul 13, 2011Under gentoo after the last update, the opera window doesn't update after a few seconds of showing itself. I have to move the cursor over an icon or anything that changes appearance to make it update. This is very frustrating when in the middle of typing a URL, the window stops updating and I'm typing "blind". While playing flash/HTML5 movies this is also quite frustrating
This is under gentoo,KDE 4.6.5, mesa 7.10.3, opera 10.50. I disable compositing because performance is dreadful (Intel graphics) on my external screen, which I use most of the time. For now I've worked around the issue by changing the compositing backend from OpenGL to XRender (where the performance is acceptable), but I'd like to disable compositing altogether.
My theory involves the XDamage extension, but I have no idea about how to work from there.

Jul 29, 2010I'm having trouble getting compiz to work on my Laptop. It worked for a while and then I turned on Shift Switcher and a message popped up saying..."The new value for the button binding for the action Terminate in plugin Shift Switcher conflicts with the action Zoom Window of the Scale Addons plugin. Do you wish to disable Zoom Window in the Scale Addons plugin?" I was given the option of Set Terminate anyway, Don't set Terminate, and Disable Zoom Window. I clicked Don't set Terminate and ever since the only thing that works in compiz are the bindings in the general options. I've used synaptic to completely remove and then reinstall compiz but the problem persist. Something else weird, all of the changes I made are still there, even after complete removal, but they don't work?

Feb 16, 2011I just recently (about an hour ago) installed Ubuntu Netbook edition on my old laptop, and I was greeted with the message, that unity could not be run due to some sort of missing driver...fair enough, I was then greeted with the default Ubuntu desktop, I installed all my needed software (wine, google chrome) and installed the missing display drivers. I then rebooted the system, and once again I am stuck with the default desktop, and not the Unity interface. I checked the software center, and it says Unity IS in fact installed.. And yet I cannot make it appear. So now I ask you Ubuntu veterans. How do I make it work?
P.S. I wiped the system of windows, and the computer is an old HP Pavilion DV6000

Ubuntu :: Ssh Doesn't Work When Log Into Other Account
Jan 12, 2010ssh works fine on root but when i log into my other account, the ssh doesn't work, it just times out when i putty it. I used this to try and start it from terminal in my reg acc, and then as the su.
sudo /etc/init.d/ssh start
After that didn't work i did this
sudo apt-get remove openssh-server
sudo apt-get install openssh-server
sudo /etc/init.d/ssh start
and still nothing. I have no clue why it only works on root and no other accounts.

Feb 14, 2010I just tried a fresh install of ubuntu 9.04 and a new attempt for 3D acceleration with my ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 - AND IT WORKED! thanx to this guide: [URL] glxinfo | grep "direct rendering" was giving a YES and playonlinux in the terminal didn't give the usual "you don't seem to have any 3D acceleration" message. For a few minutes, my happiness was greater then ever (ehum) I installed Jedi Knight II, Jedi Outcast, and it worked. Only I couldn't adjust the screen size or the gamma (and a few other minor video settings). After some install/reinstall of playonlinux and wine I found out something: 3D acceleration didn't work any longer. glxinfo | grep "direct rendering" is now giving
direct rendering: No (LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT set) and I get the error in Playonlinux that i don't have any 3D acceleration. I want to know how this could happen? My xorg didn't change at all. But for completeness, here it is:

Of course I use the proper way (like sudo, etc.) The point is I can't print PDF files. Have a look at the image:

I have also modified to the cups-pdf.conf file and have directed it to /home/{USER}/PDF And yes the aforementioned folder (i.e. PDF) exists at its proper place.
So I think the main problem is "P2POutputStream" error which you can see in the image.

Apr 11, 2010or at least, it doesn't seem to. for some reason, my .txt, .doc, .rtf, and other files that shouldn't have the execute bit set often seem to (i think i know why, but that's not important). it's my understanding that this command should, for example, remove the execute bit from all .rtf files recursively (that is, from .rtf files in subdirectories too):
