I have recently wanted to use a Movicel AnyData ADU Bat 100 USB Modem to a new laptop. I had the software disc when I bought the modem but have since lost it. Can anyone tell me where I can download software to help get this modem working on a new computer?

i'm running Kubuntu karmic and i've been using a 3G Huawei E1552 modem to connect to the internet, everything was going well when suddenly my modem stopped working. I've tried reconfiguring everything, i even reinstalled kubuntu from scratch with no success.Here's a part of my /var/log/debug

I just pop into my computer and idea was to dual boot with XP and gradually solo Ubuntu. But it is a bit slow (for my old hardware Penntium III , 256 ramm ) Music player asks for add ins for everything i try to play (mp3 , flv, wmw etc). I cant download those add ins as ubuntu does not let me install my modem which is (CDMA 2000 fixed wireless phone made by ZTE china). I have driver for it for xp but they dont work for ubuntu. How can I install those add ins and my modem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to use the onboard modem on my laptop for Internet connectivity. From what I can gather, Ubuntu hasn't installed a driver for the modem.
When I connect my phone using a usb cable to the laptop, I'm able to connect and browse. However, the network manager doesn't seem to have a driver for the onboard modem because it doesn't recognize it.
Torrents work fine on all other machines including on a VM within the affected laptop.
No matter what client I use, nothing ever downloads. For example, right now Transmission says "Downloading from 0 of 0 connected peers - Idle" while WinXP in a virtual machine is downloading at 500 kb/s.
Like I said, it's only one this laptop, with all clients, and it works on a VM.

I just got connected to Charter Cable Internet service a few days ago and I'm having a weird problem with my home network. Prior to this my network worked fine. On my network I have a desktop running Ubuntu 9.10/64 and Virtualbox with WinXP installed, an HTPC with Ubuntu 9.10/32 installed and a laptop dual booted with Ubuntu 9.10/32 and WinXP. The desktop and HTPC are hard wired to a wireless router and the laptop is wireless. The cable modem is hard wired to the router. I have samba installed and UFW is disabled. The problem is: with the cable modem turned off or on standby, all machines connect to each other and can transfer files, etc just fine but when I activate the cable modem all of the machines can connect to the Internet but the machines running Ubuntu can't connect to each other on the home network. If I boot the laptop into Windows, it can connect to the Linux machines just fine but if I boot it into Linux, it won't connect to the Linux machines but it can connect to the Internet and as far as the desktop, Ubuntu won't connect to the network but Windows running in the Virtualbox with bridged networking can connect to all of the machines.

I understand i686 has backward compatability with i386. But i have following questoins:
(1) why we don't have an installation for i686?
(2) If I install the i386 package, do I get performance downgrades?
(3) Also, why the live DVD has this file called F10-i686-Live.iso?

I moved from Debian to Ubuntu a few months ago, with everything working fine, except my 3G modem (which worked with wvdial and umtsmon in Debian).
The packaging claims that it is a Huawei E160, but lsusb says different: E220 (12d1:1003).
I've followed various instructions from these forums and the wiki, and it seems to be being recognised as a modem (I can set up an O2 prepaid (UK) connection), but it refuses to connect.
i m able to change mode to usb modem device 9603 Micromax 300 G USB modem.
