Ubuntu Networking :: Linksys WUSB54GP Not Found - Can't Connect To Wireless - 10.04 Lucid

Linksys WUSB54GP Not Found, Can't Connect to Wireless - 10.04 Lucid Lynx

I am having a problem setting up my wireless on Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) on my desktop computer using a Linksys Wireless-G Portable USB Adapter WUSB54GP.

The wireless has run fine on my Thinkpad X60s laptop running Lucid and with my desktop and the same USB adapter in Karmic (9.10). When I installed Lucid as an upgrade on the desktop, I could not see the adapter listed at all and could not connect wirelessly to the internet.

if I need to install drivers, edit a file, or do something else to get this working I couldn't find anything useful to actually solve my problem after searching for a while.

This should be all the important desktop system specs: Linksys Wireless-G Portable USB Adapter WUSB54GP -- not found; can't connect to wireless internet
Lucid Lynx 10.04 (straight install from CD from Canonical)

Intel Pentium 4 630HT
ATI Radeon 4650HD

Ubuntu Networking :: Linksys Wireless G Won't Connect

Mar 25, 2010

My first Ubuntu/Mythbuntu install. Installed OS, plugged in linksys wireless G adapter. It finds the network but cannot connect. Discovered wireless priviledges while setting up admin/user accounts. Should be ready to go. or not, I'm thinking it needs a driver but

1) in linux? certainly not in Fedora.

2) If it can see the network it doesn't need a driver,

My settings are wrong or I'm missing something. SSID is set in settings. Do I need mac address and BSSID?

Ubuntu Networking :: Can't Connect To Wireless With Linksys WUSB100?

Apr 1, 2010

I've tried it using the Ubuntu 9.10 live CD (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions) and while the adapter can see wireless networks, it can't connect to them. It asks me for my WPA2 key, but after trying to connect for about 30 seconds it asks me for it again. I've read other threads about this issue but they were kind of confusing.

I just need to know whether the adapter will work and if so, how to get it to connect. I'm so sick of Windows and I'd love to switch to Linux, but I won't be able to if I can't get my adapter to work.

Edit: I just noticed the sticky about posting wireless tickets. I'm sorry, I don't have time to post it right now, but I will post all of that information when I get back.

Ubuntu Networking :: Belkin Wireless N USB Found But Won't Connect

May 4, 2010

I have been trying to get my Belkin FD8233-4v3 wireless-n usb adapter to work in Ubuntu since 8.04. It has worked with ndiswrapper under 32-bit (never the 64-bit) versions in the past, but has never been able to be configured directly. It uses the Ralink RT2870 chipset, but cannot seem to be configured using the drivers from the Ralink website.

With Ubuntu 10.04 64-Bit, everything has changed. I have high hopes that this adapter may finally work correctly and without ndiswrapper. As soon as I first booted 10.04, for the first time ever, Ubuntu recognized the IF automatically, reported my wireless router, allowed me to enter my 128-bit WEP hex code and tried to connect up. It is failing miserably, but it is making a valiant effort.

Ubuntu Networking :: Linksys WUSB54Gv4 Disconnects After A While On Lucid?

May 4, 2010

This problem is fixed in the upcoming kernel, 2.6.34. You can either wait until Canonical releases the update, or download, build and install the 2.6.34 kernel manually. The instructions to do so are HERE. It's fairly easy.I'm having a problem on Lucid (amd64) with a Linksys WUSB54Gv4 usb wifi adapter. After some time (varies between ~10 mins to a few hours), the connection is lost. However, in my case I can't connect back. It tries to establish the connection, then pops up the dialog asking for the WEP key again. It will do this repeatedly, not ever connecting back. This is basically how the disconnect looks in dmesg:Quote:

[ 2657.920014] phy0 -> rt2500usb_set_device_state: Error - Device failed to ente
r state 1 (-16).
[ 2658.120008] phy0 -> rt2500usb_set_device_state: Error - Device failed to enter state 3 (-16).

Hardware :: Connect Linksys WPC54gs (bcm4318) Wireless Adapter In CrunchBang?

Feb 11, 2010

I recently tried to install Crunchbang on my IBM Thinkpad T20 laptop. Everything went OK as far as I can tell (I still have to adjust acpi and display settings), but I cannot get my laptop to connect to the internet via wireless (wired connection works fine). I've done a good deal of searching online, and I realize that my wireless adapter (wpc54gs, bcm4318 chipset) is problematic in linux, and that b43-fwcutter is typically required. I did install b43-fwcutter, and it seemed to install OK, but nothing subsequently happened when I opened networkmanager. I'm not sure at this point if my problem is that I don't know how to configure any wireless adapter in crunchbang, or if it is that my particular adapter is not being recognized.

Ubuntu Networking :: Cannot Connect To Network Using Linksys Wusb600n V2

Jul 16, 2011

My OS is Linux Xubuntu 11.04 (32 bits) and I'm trying to get Linksys Wusb600n network adapter to work. I followed this post and did all that was written in it... almost. When i came to blacklisting, I blacklisted all drivers that starts with rtx (where x is any digit). Here are lines that I pasted in blacklist.conf:

Code:
blacklist rt2860sta
blacklist rt2870sta
blacklist rt2x00usb
blacklist rt2500usb
blacklist rt73usb
blacklist rt2800usb
blacklist rt2x00lib
blacklist rt2x00pci
[Code].....

The problem: I do see all available networks. So I guess... it somehow works. Anyway, problem is that it does not connect successfully to my network. I click on it - it asks my password. I enter it and click 'Connect'. Nothing, except that network icon is started to like spin around (trying to connect, I guess), happens. After few minutes, it asks for password.... again. I enter it and all starts from the beginning. Its like a loop! Note: I don't have any other things installed except linux-firmware-nonfree_1.9_all.deb and, don't know how successfully, but RT3572USB 2.5.0.0.

Ubuntu Networking :: Linksys WMP54G Not Connecting To Wireless

Nov 12, 2010

I've just installed Ubuntu 10.10 and everything seems to be working fine, but I can't seem to connect to my wireless network. I am able to see the wireless networks nearby, so I'm guessing that means the drivers are fine and the hardware is working. When I try to connect, I am seeing the wireless networks of my neighbors, but mine isn't showing. So I manually enter the information in and try to connect, but it doesn't seem to connect. I enter the WEP key and it attempts, then the WEP key screen pops up again, as if I entered the key incorrectly. I've tried many times and I'm 100% certain my key is correct. By the way, the chipset is: Ralink RT61
Which means it really should just work out of the box.

When I click on the network connections button on the top right corner (the two computers). I can see my Wired Internet, but no wireless. Ubuntu Networking :: Getting Gigabyte And Linksys Wireless Cards To Work On Laptop

Feb 8, 2010

I've got an old laptop wich wireless adapter is a Gigabyte GN-WI01 GS MINI PCI(its chipset is Realtek RTL8169/8110, I believe) and I'm not able to make it run in Wifislax 3.1 Live CD. I downloaded the linux drivers for it and tried to install them following the instructions but when it came the time to execute configure.sh it told me that I had to actualize some kind of packets first(GK+ or something like that can't remember ). I also have another wireless usb adapter that I tried to use too. It's a Linksys WUSB54g v4(chipset: rt2570). I tried to follow a guide I found about making run an adapter like that on Wifislax 3.1 but when I had to "Force ralink rt73 on rt2500" it doesn't appear on my Live CD version, it appears "Force ralink rt73 on rt2570", dunno if it has something to be but I get an error while making it.

I don't know if it has to be with my laptop, my wireless adapters or my way of following the steps. If it has to be with my adapters I would like to buy some new one(not very expensive) that I won't have any problems running it on Wifislax and that will work on my old laptop(cause I just have that one and can't afford a new one).
