Trying to attach my Motorola Bravo (Android 2.1) phone to my Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Laptop via Bluetooth. Can see the phone "pair" to it. But If I try to do the transfer of files, or browse (using the bluetooth applet), I can't see the phone.
Where are the configuration files for bluetooth in Lucid?
It reads on my phone device, "Paired but not connected". With my icon I can set it up just fine, I can click "Connect" but nothing happens. I was able to pair & connect my Motorola SD9 Headphones but was unsuccessful in actually getting any sound from the head phones or the microphone to work. (But it does say paired and connected).
I know nothing about bluetooth issues. We do know it's not soft or hard blocked.

I have an ASUS Zenbook UX31E with Debian testing and LXDE as a Desktop environment. I have a Logitech T630 Mouse that I connect through Bluetooth. When the mouse is paired I can use it properly but I get random keys typed in my desktop such as "1", "2" or "/".I am a regular user of Debian, and I have being using the system for several years now even worked as sysadmin for sometime. However I do not have much knowledge about Bluetooth devices management. I found no information on this issue on the internet and I do not know where too look for more info on my own system. I have tested "blueman-applet" and "bluedevil" as desktops applets and pairing through console gives same results, so it seems like a problem with the bluetooth communication.
I have windows 7 and ubuntu karmic dual boot system.i can easily transfer files via bluetooth in windows 7 but in ubuntu it shows a message bluetooth adapter not connected while as i dont use any such adapter while working in windows .

I have seen many posts regarding wvdial, modem scripts, etc that are going a little over my head. I was able to connect my phone to the laptop, but when I tried to initiate internet sharing on the phone via Bluetooth PAN, nothing happened on the computer. I was connected but not able to do anything.
I saw some developer in a blog mention that he had put Bluetooth PAN support in Fedora 12. Is this not available in F11? Should I try moving to a F12 liveusb for this?
Has anybody had success getting a Tmobile 3G to work with F11?
I would rather use the USB connection so I could charge simulteously, but this looks a lot tricker.
How do I tell what comport a Bluetooth device is connected to? The software that i'm using needs to know what comport to connect to.

When i connect to my laptop a bluetooth usb stick, the bluetooth could not be turned on.
the bluetooth dameon is on, and when i press the turn on button, nothing happens.

The bluetooth manager does not detect a bluetooth dongle .trying to use ndiswrapper to fix.I installed device manager and the results are shown below.i downloaded the windows driver suite. It has 4 .exe self extracting driver archives and a setupconfig.ini. The .ini file is below.I was able to extract one of the 32bit archives on a windows machine and it had about 8 .inf files that are titled weird and would not install properly using ndiswrapper probably because im using the 64-bit architecture. there are 2 64bit .exe's in the driver download, but how can i extract them in ubuntu and do i really need to install all 8 .inf files. also do i actually need to make a .inf file? if so how?

Since I don't have any BT stuff to connect and really want to get all the battery life I can out of this thing I am using Ubuntu 11.04 with KDE, if there is a plasma widget I could use to make sure its disabled? There is no BT icon in the notifications area on the bar.

I followed a guide, (installed blueman, connected to phone, enabled tethering, set to trust device and provide network access). The computer connects to the network and says it is successful, and the iPhone has the blue flashing banner saying it is now tethering, but firefox doesn't connect to the internet.
Is there a way to force it to use the new tethered connection?
I run ubuntu 9.10. I recently convinced my wife to give it a shot. The problem is, the bluetooth dongle is detected and the icon appears when its plugged in, the mouse is found and says it is pointing in bluetooth manager but it does not move the cursor on the screen. I have tried 2 different dongles and both work correctly and control the mouse on my asus laptop. She is using a toshiba satelite. Both dongles show up in lsusb as hci0. I've tried everything on the forums and everything I could think of but no go. If she doesn't have use of the mouse for farmville I will be in trouble.

The Jabra won't even show up on btscanner or bluewho, but it will connect to my phone. The phone connects, but quickly disconnects. When left alone, the two will connect again! A friend's other headset connected, but had the same problems as the phone. That was an LG HBM-210. The signal was good for up to a minute, then down for at least a minute, over and over. Before the upgrade everything worked perfectly. What happened, or what did I forget to do? I have been using ubuntu for a few years now but am a noob when comes to the technical side of things, so apologies for my lack of knowledge.
I am using ubuntu 10.10 on a ZOTAC IONITX-A-U Atom N330 1.6GHz Dual-Core Mini ITX Intel Motherboard and since I have upgraded from 10.04 I no longer have blue tooth capabilities. I have a logitech mx 5500 wireless keyboard and mouse, which uses a bluetooth dongle. This is the strange part as they have both been working until recently.
They both lost their charge and after replacing the batteries in my keyboard it no longer is able to connect. The mouse however works fine, until I dropped it So I bought a microsoft explorer mouse which came with its own bluetooth dongle. Which I plugged in and the mouse works fine.
But when I go to System> Preferences> Bluetooth
I get Bluetooth adapter not present and Your computer does not have any Bluetooth adapters plugged in.
I have spent the last week googling this and can't seem to find any relevant info.
I ran this in terminal code...
Am I wrong in assuming that the logitech and microsoft dongles are being seen?
I have also removed and reinstalled bluetooth and bluetooth manager in the software centre, and the same with synaptic package manager, to no avail.
With both dongles plugged in could this also cause a problem?
Is there another way of starting the bluetooth?
i have had my bluetooth keyboard and mouse working fine for a little while now, then one day.. seemingly out of the blue (no pun intended) it stopped. heres what i deduced:

Trying to enable bluetooth (internal) on my Acer Aspire One D255. Despite bluetooth issues in general, here is the kicker: Acer decided to combine the fn+F3 key and fn+F2 key into one uber-network key. In windows 7 you hit fn+F3 and you get two options on your screen: enable/disable wireless + enable/disable bluetooth. Not so Ubuntu. I hit fn+F3 and it does various things to my wireless or my bluetooth every 3rd or 4th press. Disabling or enabling both... or neither. Very frustrating.
1) How does one remap the fn+F# keys (one for each)
2) Is there any other bluetooth voodoo for the bluetooth on this machine?

I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 and bluetooth turn/off is not possible. However, with 2.6.37 kernel it is possible. Now i have gathered whole info about the device(mac adress, usb port etc) from 2.6.37 and what i need is to somehow use those info in kernel 2.6.38 so that bluetooth works.

WiFi on this laptop worked fine for a few months then went out; after a reinstall of ubuntu (since 9.xx had come out since then anyway) the wireless still refused to even see networks, let alone connect to them; under Wireless Networks in the NM, I just see a greyed out 'disconnected'. This got me to thinking that it may have just been a hardware issue, but I find that hard to believe. Anyway, here's the pertinent information:

As an addendum : I found this driver project but they claim to require a 2.6.8+ kernel; a quick `uname -r` shows that mine is 2.6.31, and an `apt-cache search linux-image` reveals that to be the highest available from repos; do Debian/Ubuntu distros not use more recent kernels or is this an Ubuntu-specific kernel naming scheme? If so, to what would it be comparable? I'm hesitant to try to install this and change my firmware if it's likely I'll be borking something.

I hooked up to a wired connection and ubuntu installed the drivers for the broadcom card.When I put the cursor over the wireless icon on the desktop it shows the name of my wireless connection,active,and my ip address but when I open firefox I get a "server not found".
