I have a problem with real prayer, though it works fine, sometimes it stops. I cannot run the program without restarting my computer. I tried to re-download but its just the same.
View 2 Repliesi just installed 10.10 on my girls laptop (Acer Aspire 5735z) hoping it would fix the old problem i had with playing real dvd's. it didnt. it keeps saying "Could not read from Resource". when i try with VLC is say "Could not read from file". but if i put in a burned movie, it plays fine. i checked and it has libdvdcss2, libdvdnav4, and libdvdread4 installed. i get the same problems with my laptop (toshiba portege m400 tablet) which runs fedora 13.

Also, it shows up under "$lsusb", but when I tried using gnomad2 and kzenexplorer, they couldn't find any jukeboxes. Also, rhythmbox doesn't show any players.

I donno why but after several boots somehow GRUB gets corrupted or something so that when i restart the laptop, it displays "Grub 2 loading..." and restarts again. This seems to go on in an infinite loop, restarting the machine again and again trying to load grub.
When I re-install grub, everything is fine (I am able to see the Grub menu of ubuntu and windows and able to boot into both) .
I am using a Dell vostro 1320 .
I bought a DVD laser lens cleaner for $20.00 that worked fine in my DVD player But my computer will not play the video using real player 11 or the movie player.

Then it thinks it's installed because it doesn't install again have to force it the second time. Can't remove it though because that doesn't think it's there.
i am using ubuntu 9.10 on a x386 machine, have libasound 2 installed & updated, cannot install realplayer 11 because is says Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libasound2 (>> 1.0.22). likei said, libasound is installed & updated according to synaptics.

The CD booted and i selected the option of "using The OS together and selecting which one to boot" or something similar to that. Ubuntu and changed MBR and installed itself. However on restarting I am getting Error 18. Now i am unable to use my computer at all.

I had Ubuntu installed on my old laptop in dualboot with windows. This year i bought a new Sony Vaio VPCS12M9E preinstalled with windows 7 pro, but i liked the idea of having the opportunity of chosing between windows and ubuntu, so i downloaded ubuntu 10.10 and burned the ISO-image to a disc, and restarted my laptop just as i did when i installed it on my old laptop. The problem is that when i boot the disc after restarting the computer, the screen just turns black. What can i do to install Ubuntu?
