I am trying to uninstall Real Player using Yast2 > Install Software. Following error is popping up:
Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: prerm called with unknown argument `0'
error: %preun(realplay-11.0.2.1744-1.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
How can I get rid of this error and how can I uninstall Real Player?
I am using fedora 14 and after i have installed RealPlayer11GOLD.rpm , i didnot work and it give me the following error
./realplay: /opt/real/RealPlayer/realplay.bin: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory
When i try to install the realplayer in rpm format i get the following error: Subprocess failed. Error: rpm error. Failed dependencies: lsb >= 3.1 is need by RealPlayer-11.0.2.1744-20091006.i586

Then it thinks it's installed because it doesn't install again have to force it the second time. Can't remove it though because that doesn't think it's there.
i am using ubuntu 9.10 on a x386 machine, have libasound 2 installed & updated, cannot install realplayer 11 because is says Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libasound2 (>> 1.0.22). likei said, libasound is installed & updated according to synaptics.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed Backtrack 4 and it is set up as a dual boot with my Windows 7 x64 bit. I want to uninstall Backtrack because I am going to put it on a different computer. The problem is - I can't do it. My laptop is an Asus K61IC, and it doesn't come with an installation CD, because the OS was factory installed. It comes with a recovery wizard instead, which gives me the options to 1) recover to first partition only, 2) recover to entire HD, and 3) recover to entire HD with 2 partitions. Because of Grub and it asking for me to choose what operating system to boot when I start my computer, when I recover Windows 7 to the entire HD and try to boot, it gives me Grub error 22. I need to fix my MBR so that the grub menu is also deleted and all of Backtrack 4 is removed, actually letting me back onto my Windows 7. I need a way to delete the Linux partition, and fix the MBR, but I don't know how to do that because I don't have an installation disk.

Now I want to rip this DVD but all the rippers I tried return a error at that point when they try to rip it. Rippers I tried:

Now I want to know ain't there a ripper which can read over these errors and still make a decent rip?
I have a dual boot Vista/ Kubuntu and my vista SP2 has made both my vista and kubuntu unable to boot completely. I've been through many steps to recover vista but no restore point works and such so I am going to use my Toshiba recovery partition to reinstall but what I'm wondering is if after I do that will the grub loader be affected and give me the error 22? The two are on separate partitions and I've been meaning to get rid of Kubuntu from my laptop since I have it on my pc

So i went out and downloaded the newest version, and tried to install it. Cause i thought that it had been removed maybe by anti-virus or something. When i clicked on it to install it said i had a previous version that i had to uninstall. So i clicked OK. It started to uninstall and then i got an error message. How do I remove KTTSD from my system. I installed it some how, cannot remember how, and now I get no sound at all. Previous posts to this forum suggested that the KTTSD was the problem. Yesterday I got an error message saying that KTTSD had crashed, I then got my sound beck. I used YAST to remove the KTTSD but now I get an error "Could not find service 'kttsd' - Plasma"
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running opensuse 11.2 since a few days. I installed wine to play some game. Originally I tried with the default version but since it didn't work I have installed a newer version from winehq website (just the same, an rpm package, supposedly for suse). In the mean time had a lot of stuff installed, like winetricks, or wine-doors, and the necessary wine software like directx or microsoft fonts.
After a couple of days the game is not working anymore so I have tried to remove everything and start from scratch. The problem is I can't remove wine. If I remove wine the dependency will say, it will remove package 'wine' and install 'wine-snapshot'. If I uninstall wine-snapshot it installs wine. And so on.
I'd just like to remove everything related so i can check and eventually manually delete rest of wine-related stuff to make sure it's all clean... reinstalling the game didn't help so I figured that wine is broken somehow.
I installed IBM Lotus Symphony; it said the install was succesful, yet when trying to run it, nothing happens. Then I'm uninstalling using Yast, and it got blocked; it stayed on "5%" Eliminating Symphony... The cancel button does not work. If I kill the process, would there be a way to have this app correctly uninstalled?

Iam using opensuse 11.1. I want to know which is the best player that can be used in suse, which should support all codecs. I have tried totem player, xine, kaffeine, Noautun etc. But none of them is good. I have tried to install vlc player, but it shows a lot of dependencies too..it was not successful.
