I know that it's possible to create panoramic photos very easily with hugin. But I would like to create a script for nautilus where I select my picture and then create a panoramic without any questions.I guess it's possible but I can't find on google, each time I find something about hugin.Is it possible to call from the command line and hide the interface during the process ?
View 3 RepliesRunning Ubuntu 10.10 along side Windows7 on a 64-bit HP Pavilion dv7 Laptop. Everything works in Windows. Everything works in Ubuntu, except for 2 things.1) I can live with not being able to enable/disable wifi.) I cannot read photos from an SD card plugged into the laptops SD card reader. When I open the SD card in Ubuntu, I can see the file name, but the thumbnails show messed up pictures. Usually, the bottom half of the photo is solid green, and there are usually lines running through the photo, or it is divided into quadrants with one quadrant being ok, but the rest having the green and/or lines.I assume the driver for the card reader is not correct. Card reader works fine in Windows. So I have to reboot into windows, copy pictures from reader to a folder, then reboot into Ubuntu and I can see and open the photos just fine. Just cannot read and copy them from the card while in Ubuntu.

I have spent some time in photoshop. And I remember a useful feature in it, where Photoshop can tell you info about the image, by pressing on the properties or something. Photoshop can say what the picture was taken with (mobile / camera) and what date.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUbuntu 10.10. All things have been working well and as expected until tonight. I was updating some flac files using easyTAG (AAC), adding pictures and changing things a little, then dropping them into a Sansa Fuze+. All things I've done with this setup before and with no problems. I close easyTAG and try to open: Places/ Pictures. Instead of the normal brouser up pops easytag at the pictures directory.
I test all other Places. For each Place selected easyTAG opens instead of the usual brouser. I go to synaptic and remove easyTAG and then restart the system. All is now normal again (except that easyTAG is missing). I reload easyTAG and once again it has put itself as the preferred tool to view directories. How do I restore things to normal and what have I done?

Then I would like the system to execute a shell script automatically. The shell script will have commands that will control execution.
The goal of this exercise is basically to pre-configure a system (RAID config, BIOS update, etc) automatically using the shell script before installing the OS. I would like the ability to change the shell script as needed and probably repackage the ISO image. I would prefer not to deal with building a source tree to accomplish this. this is something one could do using mkisofs.
I have done this in the past with little effort using a easy to use GUI picture editor. Now I can seem to find the function in any program I have installed. I have digikam, fspot and gthumb image viewer. I am now not sure if I lost the program that I had been using in an update or if I am just looking in the wrong place.

I have a box that's used as an SFTP server. All users have restricted shell so they can only use SFTP to send and receive files. But it makes it hard to have them change their passwords. So my command is this:
cat $configfile | sed -n '/cluster:'$clustername'/,/cluster/ p' | awk /host/
Which produces many lines depending on the value of $clustername. I'd like to get each line as elements of an array.
I have this problem, however the solution given there is outdated- There is no such menu entry (I tried to see if it was disabled, but it wasn't in the menu editor either).
So how would I do this in Karmic?
Edit: I found it. As a reference: Open Nautilus, go to Edit-> Preferences -> "Media" tab -> Photos -> Your choice.

Ideally, it should be possible to connect it to external MIDI device for recording and playing back the recorded notes.This would go something like this: I set up a rhythm, say, 4/4, and I hear metronome sound that hints about the pace. I have a percussion voice selected on my synth, and whenever I press a key on the keyboard, that sound is recorded on my PC, registering it's position in the pattern. PC is repeatedly playing back the recorded sequence, so I can enrich the beat with more and more instruments. When the job is done, I'd save the created sequence in MID file, and use it later.
I have installed Rosegarden on my Ubuntu, and it might well be that it has such mode that does exactly what I'm looking for, but since Rosegarden doesn't seem to have official forum (only newslist, but I am now reluctant to sign me up to just another newslist), I wanted to check in this forum, maybe someone knows right away. At least, I have succeeded playing MID files via Rosegarden to my synth,and recording from synth to the Rosegarden interface, and save the result in MID file.
I have tried to burn dvd's using Brasero, after making the dvd etc I choose to burn as a video, but it gets to around 95% of converting the file to MPEG2 or 4 (Tried both) and just sits there doing nothing!I even left it over night to see if that helped but no joy.
