View 1 RepliesNo matter which skin I choose for audacious, it looks mostly purple. Even *.wsz skins that I have downloaded from winamp. Here's the skin the way it should look:

-xmms does support the "Expensive Hi Fi", wich as i told i've allreday installed and works.
-Xmms doesn't support the "Analog Vu Meter Plugin" for that skin, wich i don't know were to download(i only am able to see the images of it at [url]?content=49220"-3rd picture bellow, left side-the "Sony Vu's").
-The http page refers the skins and the plugin to KDE graphic environment, i'm using GNOME, and i'm not shure that this may make any difference.
-After the exausting net reading, i think...?, that Audacious does support the "Expensive Hi Fi" and the "Analog Vu Meter Plugin".
As i told, i don't give up that easy, and Audacious seems to be some upgrade or evolution of Xmms, and it as that "retro classic" look that i like and can be personalized like Xmms.
So, i've allready installed Audacios, with all the necessary codecs and libraries, and it's working so well as Xmms worked.
But know i'm having another problem :
-To personalize skins in Audacious(...more exausting net reading...), the operation should be so easy as:
-For any skin that we want(*.wal;*.wsz or compressed one's...), download it and copy it into:/users/share/audacious/Skins, wich i've allready tried(such as skins pasted into .xmms), but i get this error message:"Permission denied"!
I',ve recently installed suse 11.2 on my vaio vgn-nr31e. one of the(several...)things that i'm not been able to do,is to install knew skins on xmms player, that i've allready installed. can't copy compressed downloaded skins to usr/share/xmms/skins...and by the konsole i'm getting error when trying to ./configure,after downloading and decompressing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to play MPC (musepack) in Audacious but can't any more. I have the Audacious 2.1.1 package and libmpcdec3 installed, running Ubuntu 9.10

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently switched my usb external soundcard from an M-Audio Fast Track Pro to an Edirol UA-25EX (i can get 24bit working on it - that's why). After making the switch, all audio programs are working just fine except for Audacious. When i try to play audio, i get 00:00 and no playing. The output plugin is ALSA and the audio device is UA-25EX. I don't understand why it's not playing the audio.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a pretty fresh install of Ubuntu with Audacious 2.4 RC2 installed. For the first few days it ran fine, since Saturday it keeps crashing literally 1-2 seconds after opening it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Crunchbang Statler which is based on stable Debian Squeeze and I was wondering if anyone knows when audacious 2.4.2 will be available in the repository?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Ubuntu 10.04 32 bits and I have one keyboard Logitech Comfort Wave 450 with some multimedia keys (PLAY/PAUSE, VOLUME UP/DOWN, MUTE,.This multimedia keys works well in Rhythmbox but in Qmmp and Audacious2 doesn't. I explain this: Start my Gnome session. I open Qmmp/Audacious with one playlist charged, I press PLAY/PAUSE in my keyboard, but Qmmp/Audacious doesn't play. Close Qmmp/Audacious. I open again Qmmp/Audacious and now, when I press PLAY/PAUSE, it works! It also works if I open Rhythmbox before to open Qmmp/Audacious.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI really like using Audacious, but Rhythmbox (which isn't as horrible as iTunes, admittedly, but I still don't think much of that style of player) is set up as the default audio player on my laptop. I'm running Lucid Lynx on it. When I go to System > Preferences > Preferred Applications, Audacious doesn't come up in the drop-down menu under the Multimedia tab. Anyone know of any way I can change this from Rhythmbox to Audacious?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a very fresh and basic install of the weekly jessie build (this week). I've installed nvidia drivers, some non-free plugins, virtualbox, basic system tools, etc. The issue is while playing in audacious, the song will freeze for about 5 seconds. It's always around 5 seconds. Sometimes it's once or twice per song, sometimes I'll play 10 songs without it happening. BTW, all music is on a separate hard drive on an NTFS partition.
In audacious, I'm using the Winamp skin. I noticed when trying to play for the first time, it wouldn't play unless I changed the setting in audacious to use ALSA. That was the only way I could go to Settings and select my SPDIF digital output. But then doing that, other sounds no longer worked (in iceweasel). So I downloaded pavu, was able to select my onboard digital stereo output, set audacious back to pulse audio, and everything now works. Only issue is audacious is freezing every now and then... Is there a driver or module that I need to check for? Is there a way to get everything to use ALSA?
I once tried AV Linux for the low latency kernel but since it was based on Wheezy and I wasn't familiar with repos, everything was extremely outdated, so I migrated away. Should I need an LL kernel for 320kbps audio playback? I haven't sat and watched a full mkv yet, some of those have 1.5mpbs audio.
I updated Audacious to latest version v2.5.1.1 & it wont work anymore.
Whats up with that?
I wanted to downgrade to previous version but i cant find older versions of Audacious.
I am running Open SuSe 11.3
My Rythmbox and SongBird when I click a mp3 the fan goes into over drive and the mp3 song play timer goes up in three's and doesn't play any audio. But I can play the mp3 files in Audacious.
I have gstreamer installed and I can do gstreamer-properties and its setup right for alsa. Whats going on with Songbird and Rythmbox?
I just got done installing Debian Squeeze on a system..Everything seems to work where audio is concerned, except for audacious.I can get streaming music from vlc/totem as well as play music files (mp3, ogg, flac, ect.).I was wondering if anyone else experiences this problem..It should be noted that I have the Debian multimedia repository enabled as well. When running audacious from terminal and trying to open up an mp3 file I get this message:"madplug: open_audio failed: XMMS reverse compatibility output plugin."
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was using audacious happily, but after the dist-update last week I can't get is working anymore. The error message is:
audacious2: symbol lookup error: audacious2: undefined symbol: index_new
Version: audacious-2.2-1.pm.5.1
uname -a output is: Linux linux-9b84 2.6.27.39-0.2-default #1 SMP 2009-11-23 12:57:38 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Deleting .config/audacious, .local/share/audacious, and .cache/audacious doesn't help (it did with a similar problem before). how to get this program working again?
Looking for skins for xine
Using Debian Lenny
xine version:
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.6cvs. (c) 2000-2007 The xine Team.
I would like to try a different skin for xine. Is there a package I can download? I would like something besides black. It gets hard to see things at times.
In my home network i have installed NSLU2 in my router , and the hard drives have all my music stored in them. When i try to open a music file with RhythmBox everything its fine. But when i open them with audacious nothing happens. I can play music files that are stored in my laptop , but not from my hard drive from NSLU2.
I have ubuntu 8.10 installed.
Salutations,I've been struggling with getting audacious working for the past hour. I'm using synaptic to install it. When trying to run it from the bash, I'm getting the following error:
Code:
audacious: error while loading shared libraries: libmowgli.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.I tried to make /usr/lib/libmowgli.so->libmowgli.so.1 link, but it didn't help. Tried reinstalling audacious/libmowgli and a few others packages, but in vain, too.
I've been having a fit with Ubuntu (even tried updating to the new version). I have a USB camera (1.3mp- 1024x768 ) that I need to observe and capture images with (microphotography). I've downloaded and installed multiple packages, but have not found any way to change the default resolutions for V4l2. The resolution closest to what I need is 1024x816, but the video is torn and unusable. One program, Kamoso, worked fine in 640x480 mode, but as soon as I upgraded to Ubuntu 10, it went to the higher resolution (1024x816) which doesn't work right.
Is there some way to force v4l2 into a 1024x768 mode? The camera is a Tucsen 1.3mp microscope camera. I've emailed the company for more information and to see if they would email me the software/drivers (I lost the driver disk in a fire), but nothing so far from them.
The programs I've installed and tried: Camorama, Kamoso, Xsane, Cheese, VLC media player, v4l2ctrl, v4l2ucp, v4lctl, v4l-info. Camorama doesn't work, Kamoso- you couldn't change resolutions (ditto for Xsane), Cheese - I can change resolutions, but they have these crazy values that don't work, VLC media I cannot change either. I'm supposed to be able to use v4l2ucp to change settings, but I don't get the screen that the preview for the program (in Ubuntu Software) showed.
On a Dell 14n, 10.04. Mic problem: To use the mic jack/external mic, I need to have MIC 3 selected at SYSTEM/PREFERENCES/SOUND/INPUT To use the built in mic, I need to have MIC 1 selected
How can I get these mic's to work w/o having to change the settings each time I want to switch mic's.. so that if the mic jack is plugged in, then the external mic works. and if the mic jack is unplugged, then the built in mic works.

Whenever I try to click any of the places under the "Places"-menu in the panel under Gnome audacious gets started instead. How strange! Only way to stop it is to uninstall audacious. This seems very strange, it started today and I have no idea of why it started. Ubuntu 10.04. Do you need any more information? I am pretty new to the Gnome environment, I have always been running Fluxbox before.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently managed to compile and install audacious 2.4.0 successfully. I prefer to browse my music folders and double click on the song I wish to play rather than use "open files" within audacious. It works fine to open the first mp3 but when I click to play another song instead of stopping the first one, it opens another instance of audacious and now both songs are playing. When I go into the properties of an mp3 and select open with > "other application" > audacious then click "Use a custom command" the following is in the box /usr/local/bin/audacious %f. is there any custom command I could use so that when I click another song audacious stops the currently playing song and plays the new one, without opening another instance?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to install Audacious 2.5 which required new libraries:gdk-pixbuf-2.22.1
glib-2.28.6
gtk+-2.24.4
libmowgli-60e2589fc14e
pango-1.28.4
I performed the following commands to build them:
Code:
./configure
make
sudo make install
I rebooted and now my current window/icon theme is missing and gives the following error:
This theme will not look as intended because the required GTK+ theme 'eco' is not installed". If I look at synaptic, it shows it as being installed (see screenshot). How do I go about rolling back the library updates I made? I tried reinstalling the themes from synaptic but so far no luck.
I am using RHEL 5. I have enabled rpmfusion, epel and rpmforge yum repositories and installed Audacious and dependecies. But I could not find any mp3 playback plugins. Installed Audacious plays ogg format but doesnt play mp3. How can i make Audacious play mp3 format ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got an HP dv6-2150 laptop. Dual boot with Windows 7 and 9.04 (9.10 will not work but that's a different story). The screen resolution is too low and is set at the highest option available (1024x768 which is a 4:3 aspect ratio). The HP uses the new Intel i3-330m chipset with on-board Intel HD graphics. The system is capable of 1366x768 resolution (16:9) - so how do I get it there? xorg.conf looks real generic - nothing specific to Intel.

Identifier "Generic Monitor"
HorizSync 30 - 75
VertRefresh56 - 61

With both 1600 x 1200 and 1680 x 1080 I get the resolution but I see lots of shadowing.(The letters are not crisp) Do I need to upgrade any driver ?
