I have tried the fix * Hit ALT+F2 and enter

* add the following line BEFORE the last line of text
* export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=1
But I DONT have that file. I have searched for hours and hours. I can rightclick on the player and get to its options, but left clicking doesnt work
so yeah i've seen threads on getting flash installed, and it appears to be installed. videos videos play and all that jazz. you got to adobe's webpage and it says i have the latest released version installed.
problem is i can't click on any of the buttons in the videos. like in ..... i can't click pause, change the video resolution, or move the bar to fast forward or rewind. i'm kind of at a loss cause it is installed, and reinstalling doesn't do anything in ff. i mean if i uninstall videos don't play, and if i reinstall they play. still can't click on anything though. edit:also it does work just in ..... if i get the new interface. it won't work in the old interface.
specs: lucid lynx 10.04 amd64 + gnome 2.3 + ff 3.6.3 + ati drivers + compwiz
When i got to a site such as You Tube of South Park Studios the vidio playes fine but the pause, play , fullscreen ect... Buttons dont work unless it click on them multiple times!
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently in the course of normal nightly updates my Firefox got updated to a newer version. I believe that it was a security update, so I don't really want to roll back to an earlier version (I went from 3.5.x to 3.6.8), but I am having some issues with the current version. One of the more annoying issues is that a previous bug that was fixed has resurfaced, and now the prior solution no longer works. The only way I can left-click within Flash and have it work is by holding down the right mouse button at the same time as I click. Previously I was able to get around this with this fix:

That line is still there, and I even tried reinstalling flash (using the FLASH-AID plugin someone on these boards wrote), but nadda. The problem does not exist in free standing flash applications and flash running in Chrome works fine, and it worked fine in Firefox before the upgrade.
Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit. Firefox 3.6.6. Flash 10.1.53.64. When I right-click on any flash video, FF hangs completely and has to be killed/restarted.
View 2 Replies View Relatedupgraded to 10.4 on many web pages, when I click on a button, nothing happens. If I hover over the button, the cursor turns to a pointing hand but that's it.
I've tried firefox, cromium, epiphany and arora, they're all the same. I think it's just on flash content, some things work, some don't and I cant tell the difference between them. Tried install flash again and tried gnash which I couldnt get to appear in the pluggins list.
As far back as I can remember, on any Linux system, not just Ubuntu, you could use the mouse to highlight a chunk of text, and then by clicking both mouse buttons at the same time, you could paste that high-lighted text wherever you want. I had used this all the time on my previous Ubuntu installations... until now. In Ubuntu 11.04 I don't have this luxury anymore.

If I decide to unplug the mouse and work with the touchpad, I must always reverse the options again to pointer = 1 2 3, or else, while the right and the left button still work as a left-handed mouse, tapping, instead of acting like a left-click, gives a right-click menu. My touchpad is listed as:

using the evdev driver.
I admit that I haven't played much with alternate xmodmap configurations, but I'd like to sort this out. It's even more confusing since I don't have a xorg.conf and, if I manually add one, despite having tried repeatedly, I can't make X-server to read it.

I upgrade to ubuntu 10.04 and now I can't click on flash applications. The only solution I found is to disable compiz. I search on the forum and I doesn't found something useful.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, I've done a fresh install of F13 on my laptop and the very first thing I chose to add was Adobe Flash (installed with help of Autoten). Flash plugin in Firefox seems to be working alright, but make a right-click on any Flash content on a web page - and browser will freeze.
I'm even puzzled about what can be done to diagnose the problem. Running Firefox from a terminal emulator doesn't give any useful feedback on this situation.
some input on what can be done to clear things up.
P.S. I'm running a 32 bit version OS.
i'm in 64 bit kubuntu, with the the nswrapper in 10.10http://www.metacafe.comin firefox i get the sound but not the video in metacafe, when the video is unblocked by flash block. Others have the same problem?

I'm trying to find a GUI program (not a terminal command) to bind the 4th and 5th buttons on my mouse to ALT+Tab and Escape. I tried BTNX however I encountered the error "btnx-config needs the file /etc/btnx/events to run". View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated Lucid yesterday, and when I restarted the user interface was changed to a more simple feeling display. This makes me think I'm stuck in a "basic" mode or something. I attached a screen shot, but to give you an idea ill describe some issues. For one thing the minimize buttons are now on the right. The volume control, which used to appear on the top right of the screen, is gone and my multimedia volume control buttons on my Inspiron 1420 no longer work. Furthermore, the command terminal is now white and the keyboard shortcuts for copy and past don't work.
Immediately after updating I also got an error message at login (which also appears different and gives options on bottom of screen like gnome Failsafe) which said something like "gnome default power management installed incorrectly...". I followed the advice of a forum thread that involved the purge command and that seemed to remedy that message.
I`ve triple checked this and every time I run compiz any window opened has no minimise maximize or any other buttons for some reason but I don`t know why.If I exit compiz from the icon there are still no window buttons until I log out and then back in again. I can`t find this mentioned elsewhere but it`s happening every time in Squeeze AMD64 fresh installation having only downloaded AWN and compiz (tried this without AWN running and same result).It seems to have a drawing issue as if I run AWN then only three icons can show up on the dock any others are just thin white lines but I have no idea why my buttons dissappear. Anyone able to enlighten me?EDIT: Well I realised that by default the window decorations bit was not enabled, enabling it solves the first issue so the white lines instead of icons in AWN can`t be related so will look into that seperately.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm playing with dual monitors. I have an NVIDIA GT220 set up so that my monitor and my TV are running as extended desktops. Everything is working well enough, but there is one annoying bit I've noticed:
If I'm watching ..... on monitor 1 in fullscreen and working on monitor 2, clicking anything in monitor 2 kills full-screen in monitor 1. Is this something that can be fixed somehow or is it a hardwired "feature"?
I did a clean install of 11.04 and I have experienced that my separate X-screen does not have the program-name bar with the minimize, close-buttons etc. It's my third monitor is a separate X and it does not really work since I cant close programs, maximize windows or move them around. I cant even write anything on it. The first two monitors work great as one X-screen, just as they did in 10.10. Ubuntu Classic, no Unity. Two monitors (one X) on a ATI HD6970 One monitor (the X-screen that doesn't work properly) on a ATI HD4870
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using Debian Wheezy with LXDE and I am using the monitor resolution as 1280x1024. Now the Window maximize, minimize buttons look tiny and its pretty irritating. Is there anyway I can make them bigger ? I tried googling but whatever documentation I found was regarding GNOME not LXDE since not many people use it. I don't want to try any online themes of Linux just want the buttons to be bigger. Is there anyway ?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm newish to the forum, but have been using ubuntu for the past few months.I recently upgraded from eeebuntu (a 9.04 derivative) to 10.04, and found that two finger tapping my touchpad has gone from middle click to right click, (and 3 fingers is now middle instead of right).
From what I've seen, this has been changed since 9.10, but I haven't been able to find a permanent solution yet. Most fixes have been from before and use hal, or other things that don't exist anymore. The one thing I've found does work is using xinput and the command

But that has to be run every time I start up, and it occasionally reverts while I'm using the computer. I've tried making a script that runs at startup, but neither adding it to the list of startup programs, or autostart folder has worked, but running the script file manually does work. I'm a bit at wits end with this, it's the only issue I've had with 10.04, and I've spent many many hours trying to get it to work (I've also tried gsynaptics and the newer version whose name escapes me right now). Hopefully there's a permanent fix out there.
Me-TV was working fine. Now it will not open.
I click on the menu to open ME-TV and nothing happens.
Newish desktop with NVIDIA card. Again it was working fine, now it stopped.
Also, where do I find the error file in Ubuntu?
About a week ago I installed some updates. What they were I don't remember. After I did that my mouse started acting up. Now about half the time when I single click it registers as a double click. Also when I click and drag to select text anywhere it'll randomly do another click screwing up that process.
So far I think the problem is when I press the left mouse button it registers the left click and then when I release, it randomly registers another left click.
The mouse itself works fine if I take it to another PC that's using windows.
OS: Ubuntu 9.10 64bit
Mouse: Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0
mouse menu different in 10.10, is there a way to make the mouse single click instead of double click?
