Recently upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10. Tried to use the Evolution Setup Assistant. Problem is I cannot reach the "Next" button at the bottom of the screen. I have moved the panels to left and right - still no go.

And also under sending email, the server i should put as what?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI installed 10.04 on a machine up at work, and grabbed all of the updates. Whenever I when to import the PST file into Evolution, I ran into a problem. In the Import Assistant, the dropdown menu with all of the file types are grayed out, and whenever I select the .PST file to import, the Forward button is grayed out as well. Has anyone come across the problem before? I tried reinstalling Evolution, but that didn't have any effect on it. Still got the same problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo about an hour ago I put my computer on standby. For whatever reason I couldn't bring it back so I restarted it. It works fine except now Ubuntu has pushed my display down. This means that the bottom of my tool-bar on the bottom of the screen is cut off, and there's a black bar on the top. I'm using a T.V. screen so there is no way I can manually adjust it. I also plugged my desktop back into an old monitor and it was off-center downward too.

It shows there are unread messages in my inbox, but when I click on it, it says "Error Generating Message List" at the bottom, with an exclamation mark in a red circle. When I click on that, it says "database disk image is malformed". I've uninstalled and reinstalled Evolution, but get the same message.

Boot sequence is starting, CD is spinning, HDD is blinking but after few seconds little picture appears on the bottom of the screen with "a keyboard key = person in a circle" ?? Now my question is this. I did not migrate my music to ubuntu during the installation due to i simply forgot so is there anyway to simply relaunch just the Migration assistant ? Also, on the where to install to step, Where at the top it should say that another operating system is installed, it is blank.

I am using Xubuntu 10.10 64bit . When I press the quit or logoff buttons on the desktop it takes me to the logon screen and then at the bottom right corner it allows me to shutdown or reboot. I would like to bypass this screen entirely,and just shutdown reboot from the desktop. Only I use this machine at home ,no none else needs to log on. Is there any way to do this?

View 9 Replies View RelatedThe day started as usual until I got the very bright idea to install Ubuntu. A new OS along side W7, that sounded great. I checked some guides on the Internet, it was all very straight forward. Install it and Grub will show you the OS:es when you boot up. I installed Ubuntu, rebooted. After the BIOS messages the screen goes blank and my screen on-button begins to blink, as if trying to find a signal, I press enter, it reboots instantly. After BIOS messages I get to a screen that says "GRUB error: uknown filesystem grub rescue>"
I've looked through everything here and nothing works. I've tried to fix the mbr-thingy using Windows Repair and even though it says "one partition was updated with new boot-thingy" when I reboot, I get into that very same grub rescue. I think my setup has something to do with it. I run RAID0 (2x360Gb hard drives), first having C: at 50Gb and then the rest as F: for programs and such. What I did was that I shrunk the F: part and then used that as partition for Ubuntu. Also please have a look at these screenshots, my partitiontables and such seems completely wacky to the raid: Where should the boot-loader go? I'm very, very new at this. I've had Ubuntu Netbook remix on my netbook for a time but still treat me as an utter beginner.

Happens pretty regularly, but for example, a moment ago, I was trying to switch to Google Public DNS, in the network preferences, have to click apply/ok but cannot do so as the menu box is larger than the screen. Is there a way to scroll down or make the window smaller so that I can click buttons outside standard screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter seeing this conky profile I decided to try my hand at making something similar, as my conky profile looked pretty unappetising.All my conkyrc file does at the moment, is display an image and I seem to be falling at the first hurdle. I would like the image to be flush to the bottom of the screen however it floats about 100px above the bottom of the screen.Screenshot attached and conkyrc file below. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The small netbookscreen is just not good for this new appbar on the left side (it's one of the old eee-pc's). My problem is I cannot make the bars come up by moving the cursor via my finger. It works fine if I move the pointer via a mouse but that is not an option when in tablet mode. How can I make them come up when I move the cursor to their location via my finger?
Ok on the tool bar at the bottom of the screen that arrow you hit and it expands and shows all the things running essentially, it has a clock and such, somehow it is now on the left how do I move it back to the right?

The problem I'm having is even with the user name selected with a password box displayed, there's no bar at the bottom of the screen in GDM. I prefer GDM instead of KDM because I like the fact that I can select a user even though I'm the only user, but I do like the behavior of Windows XP/Vista/7 (select a user, hit enter, enter the password, and hit enter to login, but that's not as close to how KDM works if there's only a single user in the system -- no big deal).how do I get the bar appear in the bottom of the screen after I select the user in GDM?

I can remove the panel once logged in but it still appears on the login screen (showing a clock and choices of WMs, etc). I want my end user to see nothing on the login screen but my custom background and the box where he types his username and password.
