i wanted to use this as an email server to receive and send emails from ubuntu server. i had nagios installed on my ubuntu, installed postfix too, so i thought i could somehow make use of this evolution setup assistant.Under the receiving email, the server is shown as email. iptouch.com , what should i replace this with? And also under sending email, the server i should put as what?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed 10.04 on a machine up at work, and grabbed all of the updates. Whenever I when to import the PST file into Evolution, I ran into a problem. In the Import Assistant, the dropdown menu with all of the file types are grayed out, and whenever I select the .PST file to import, the Forward button is grayed out as well. Has anyone come across the problem before? I tried reinstalling Evolution, but that didn't have any effect on it. Still got the same problem.

The problem is that the emails are never sent. I have to manually click the "Send / Receive" button. If left alone, the emails will sit there over the weekend, never sending until I hit Send / Receive.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using evolution for my email for about a year.It currently has 2 accounts set up.I want to create a third account so I went to Edit > Preferences > Accounts > Add.On the first page I click on "forward" and on the second page enter the new details. New name, new email address and when I'm finished I click on forward again and the second screen comes up. It has some server details on it iirc. Sadly after 2 seconds or so this screen disappears and the very first screen re-appears (where the only thing to click on is "forward").What's happening? Is 2 accounts the maximum? Any clues please?

Now my question is this. I did not migrate my music to ubuntu during the installation due to i simply forgot so is there anyway to simply relaunch just the Migration assistant ? All i want is that my music from windows appears when i go to my music folder this will also make it easier for me when i use amarok.

it also stops at the same point when trying to install another driver, /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.26-2-686 does exist
I'm trying to use module-assistant to add the vboxdrv using instructions also found here in the debian forum. However, m-a can't find the linux-headers because it looks for the package linux-headers-2.6.32-5-trunk-686. I attempted to specify were the headers were by using:
m-a prepare --kernel-dir /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-5-686/
but also doesn't work. Instead, I get the error:
Bad kernel version specification at /usr/bin/m-a line 566.
Anyone knows how to work around this?
By the way, the reason I am doing this is because when I installed virtualbox (following the instructions in debian wiki) there's no vboxdrv. When I try to modprobe it, I get:
FATAL: Module vboxdrv not found.
I'm trying to get wireless working in F10. Using pci wireless card with Atheros chipset. To be sure, I tested this hardware with a PCLinuxOS Live CD. Connects to AP perfectly.
Hardware drivers seem all OK in F10, and ifconfig shows wlan0 as expected. When I use the Wireless-Assistant 0.5.7 there's no connection.
Actually, the AP logs show numerous connections and disconnections.

I've been all afternoon trying to install Ubuntu Lucid on my fakeRAID 0 configured (2) HDDs and am unable to set GRUB up. The fake RAID setup is provided by Intel Matrix Storage Manager, it is correctly enabled and the BIOS is also correctly set up -- in fact, I've managed to install Windows 7 with no significant hitch. After struggling with partioning the drives (had to follow advice I found on a very helpful guide online [0]), creating the filesystems AND getting Ubuntu's installer to actually do what it is supposed to do, I now cannot seem to set GRUB up. My system, as it stands, is unbootable at all; via live CD only.

I have 3 computers. One running openSuse 11.3 with SAMBA and the other 2 are Windows 7 Professional boxes. I have the same user name and passwords for all three boxes.
From the Linux box I can access one of the Windows 7 boxes but the other won't accept my user name and password. The one that won't accept has Windows LiveID Sign-In Assistant installed. Apparantly that's an automatic install now.
I've read that there is a bug with the SAMBA libsmbclient [URL].
I tried updating via YAST but still end up with version 3.5.4-5.1.2 and this doesn't work.
I've been running the Evolution mail system under Fedora-15/KDE for about a month now, and it has some very serious problems. I just noticed that it is available for SUSE, and figured that since KDE is the principal desktop supported by KDE the SUSE version may be fixed. Before I go through the very tedious process of getting the SUSE version to compile on Fedora, I'd like to know whether anyone has seen these problems with the SUSE version of Evolution:It ignores font control from the KDE Settings->Applications Appearance window, both KDE font control and GTK+ font control, also its own internal font control window.
It has trouble sending messages to an SMTP server, sometimes taking a l-o-n-g time, sometimes timing out. I had configured the evolution to send/recive email. After it had been configured, it could receive emails. Suddendly it can't fetch email anymore. In the inbox of evolution, there were about 200 emails. There are maybe 5K emails in the server, I guessed. I'm not sure whether it's the problem that there's one email in the server too big, so the evolution can not fetch it. The error of evolution is: error while fetching email. Because the exchange plugin didn't work i uninstalled evolution and removed the ppa. Now when i try to install evolution from the software centre i get this: Package dependencies cannot be resolved This error could be caused by required additional software packages which are missing or not installable. Furthermore there could be a conflict between software packages which are not allowed to be installed at the same time.

I have been using Fedora 14, which has Evolution 2.32.1 but have recently also installed openSUSE 11.3, which has Evolution 2.30.1.2. I would like to make openSUSE my primary distribution, and so I would like to restore my Evolution settings from Fedora, but Evolution complains that the backup file is invalid. I have tried copying the folders in the backup to their appropriate locations in openSUSE with no luck. I have also tried manually copying with instructions for older versions of openSUSE, but with no luck.
An obvious guess at what might be the problem seems to be that I am trying to restore settings from a newer version to an older version? An obvious thing to try would be to upgrade to Evolution 2.32, but Evolution has a long list of dependencies so before jumping into that fun I thought I would ask if anyone else has had similar problems and found a straight-forward solution. I still have access to my emails in Fedora so this is not hugely pressing, and if upgrading to 11.4 will do the trick then I can just wait for that.

I have wiped Windows and am running 10.04 exclusively. 32 bit, when setting up evolution e mail account i dont see where to enter password....where is it? anyone have link with screenshots? i know i can use regular hotmail but want to know how to use default ubuntu programs.
