microphone aspect of my sound card in my laptop going. If that goes alright I'd like to install the Wacom drivers for my Cintiq 21ux.
I have sound coming out of my sound card, I just need to put some sound through it (for skype conferences)
Do you where I'd be able to find the right drivers or links to tutoials about or similarto my HP Pavilion dv5 1006tx?It's mainly the sound card and Wacom Cintiq 21ux I'm worried about.

Jan 30, 2010In the last week I have been noticing sound issues. Today my sound stopped working all together. I have a dual boot system: Windows XP and Ubuntu 8.10. The sound works fine under XP. My understanding is that there are problems with PulseAudio. Ive checked all the obvious things such as "mute" etc. My guess would be a corrupted sound card driver, but im not sure of the best way to remove it and reinstall it.

May 28, 2011I have a TV tuner card with its output connected to the CD in of an integrated sound card. Video is OK, and the sound also gets thorough (to the line out) when running xawtv, for example. However, I found no ways yet for recording it.I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 with ALSA drivers. Pulseaudio was running in the beginning, now it doesn't, but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

The capture source is set to "CD" (and on the input side it's also "CD" where I can effectively modify the volume for audio going through...), but still no result.

Jan 3, 2010I don't have any sound after installing Linuxant ALSA driver. I tried uninstalling it and the hsf driver, didn't help. Reinstalling ALSA didn't help either. Ubuntu doesn't detect my sound card, and aplay doesn't detect my sound card. lspci -v output for sound card:

I have ran the lspci command to find out my wireless card is Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 and I found the driver for this card at:it won't let me post the URL for some reason...but i googled "Broadcom BCM4313 driver for linux" and it's the first link.I downloaded the 32-bit driver but now I have absolutely no idea what to do.The download has folders named lib and src, and a text file called Makefile.

All I want this machine to do is play video from off the net on my LCD HD TV. The video on board was all choppy when going into full screen mode so I put in a 3dfx Voodoo card and the same thing happens. Feb 8, 2011Laptop is Dell Latitude C600/C500 with Pentium III 850Mhz, 256Kb L2 Cache, 256MB RAM, ATI M3 video card, HD 20005 MB and sound card is EES Maestro 3i. After trying to do something with Windows 2000 which was installed on the machine, I decided to put Linux without keeping windows on the machine. First I try with Xubuntu (latest version) which was working but slowly, then I found that Debian could work fine on that machine. I have installed latest version 5.08 and was surprised how goodly old machine can work. I solved problems with screen resolution (change from 800x600 to 1024x768) but I couldn't find solution how to fix problem with sound.
Actually I don't have sound on the machine. I looked for a linux driver for that sound card and Dell is only providing windows drivers. Then I found that I can solve the problem with ALSA drivers but I couldn't find the easy way (or any way at all) to install drivers and to get back the sound. When I click on 'Volume Control' (top right corner of the screen) I get the message: 'Volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This means either that you don't have the right GStreamer plugins installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured.'

I have had 10.04 on this computer in the past and it worked fine, but this is a fresh install of 11.04. Any suggestions on where to go from here?
OpenSUSE Install :: Graphics Card Driver For GMA HD?
Jun 25, 2010I have unfortunately found myself unable to properly boot up openSUSE because I decided to buy the Acer Aspire with the i5 Processor.
I have the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD (GMA HD) graphics card, and unfortunately from all my searching online and on openSUSE, I have been unable to find a driver for this that works for linux, and in addition I don't know how to install a driver outside of a GUI.
My openSUSE boots up to the boot choosing screen (regular openSUSE or failsafe), and then that nice list of functions being done is displayed, but as soon as the daemon has started, suddenly my screen goes blank and I am unable to do anything about it. Beyond this point, my OS loses all functionability, and while I can hear it computing, I am unable to actually tell WHAT it is computing. get a driver for this and to install this driver and get this GUI running, that would be great.

I downloaded the driver made for Linux. The driver manager claims "no proprietary drivers." At the moment it shows to be using integrated graphics, but I need the full hardware graphics to play games. The open source alternate driver didn't work either.

Aug 6, 2010i have found a flavor or linux i now prefer and i installed it on my laptop. i went to configure the wireless card and it tells me no wireless networks found. i can run off of the ethernet port just fine. the wireless card that's in this laptop is a cisco mpci-350 series. i would like to be able to use the laptop without having to be tethered to an ethernet cable. what can i do. how do i correct it and how would i go about installing the driver if i have to in zencafe since there isnt anywhere to install a driver.
