I was following the installation instruction in the official website for Termtter. But it doesn't work...

. It finished successfully. It says 'command not found' when I run 'termtter'.
I am looking for an interactive terminal based twitter client. It seems like there are a few around, but some of them appear to be abandoned. Does anyone have any recommendations of a good one to use?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust an FYI for anyone who may be having this particular problem. A short while back, I was trying to attach a picture to a Twitter post, and dropped my network connection. No big deal...connection came back, and things went on. Next time I launched Choqok, it popped up a message saying "Server Error: This method requires authentication". It was puzzling, and didn't appear to impact my use...until I went to send a direct message, and it would give that error and crash. After quitting Choqok, the file (/tmp/ksocket-user/klauncherXXXXXX.slave-socket file) was still present. Deleting that file manually cleared the error up. I've seen this mentioned in a couple of other forums, but none with a solution posted.
If anyone else has that error, and this method resolves it, please let us know. I'm using openSUSE 11.4, but it should apply to any version/distro of Linux using Choqok.
Is there a good terminal services client available I can connect to my Windows boxes from Fedora12? I am willing to pay for a commercial license if there is a good one

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a router that is 1000 Base T and two computers each with ethernet cards that support 1000 Base T. All are equipped with Cat 5e cable. Before I had a router that only went up to 100 Base T and I would setup one box with linux running proftpd. On the other box,I would use win xp pro and use firefox to ftp into the other box and download a file. Download speeds went up to 11.2 MB/sec. Now when I switched routers, I expected something like 120 MB/sec but I'm only getting 5.3 MB/sec. What do I need to change?

However it is my understanding that inittab has been replaced by upstart. I would like to know how to modify upstart so that instead of the user seeing a login: prompt my script is automatically loaded (rrdesktop)(revisedrdesktop) and the user is brought off a live cd to my terminal server.

Now, I know I can open it with Ctrl+Alt+T but with shift+f4 from dolphin, terminal starts with current folder in command line.

Everything loads fine until I get to the "Install base system" part of the installation and it puts up a red screen warning me that the install has failed. My uncle gave me his ubuntu discs and even some different hard drives, but I keep getting the same problem at the same point of the installation. Here is the rundown of everything i did.

I was testing it out to run a raid 1 just to learn how to make a software raid array. its my first try at making a raid array. The first time i used ubuntu server 10.04 32bit and the system failed at the install base system point. I then used boot n nuke to clean the drives and tried 10.04 64bit. it failed at the same exact point. my uncle gave me 2 western digital 1.0TB hard drives and I tried again. I got the same results. At that point i gave all the hardware back to my uncle and he gave me a server board to try out because he bought it and hasnt touched it. so I built a second system.

I didn't see any settings in the UI, but I did see a redirectsmartcards property in the conf file. I tried setting it from 0 to 1 but it didn't seem to have any effect (still getting traditional login dialog on remote computer). Does anyone know if this setting is supported or not? I did install pcscd and friends and when I insert the usb smartcard pcscd does show up in /var/log/messages so I think the smartcard is working okay locally.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm currently successfully using the Terminal Server Client to connect to an SBS 2003 server at a remote location. I've been trying to figure out if it's possible to connect to any of the XP machines on the LAN behind it. I currently have to use RWW in IE on a VirtualBox XP machine to do that, and I'd love to be able to get rid of VirtualBox completely.
The server has 2 NICs, one connected to the internet, and the other connected to the LAN. There is only one public IP. The computer I'd most like to connect to has a static, private IP. Anybody done anything like this or have any thoughts on how to get it to work?
I was trying to connect to my machine over the internet through a VPN. I was able to connect, with a fairly high ping (30-40 ms), then when I use Terminal Service Client to connect, just the login screen takes FOREVER!! Using a Virtualbox WinXP, I connect to the VPN and use its Remote Desktop and it is super fast.

Also last time I did it my volume hotkeys didn't work any ideas what else I need to get them working again So summed up: How do I get the smallest installation of GNOME and what do I need to get my hotkeys working?I am waiting on my disc to be delivered so i wont be able to tell you if it helped I also did the base installation with Debian Lenny so I'm not suer if it has the hotkey problem
I have done a base install with CD#1 and can boot to a prompt and login with root. I cannot use the network. There is no system-config-network program for me to run. There is also no network-manager in chkconfig --list. There is a network item in chkconfig --list and I have turned it on and rebooted to no effect. Googling for base install has found me virtually no information to go on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am installing server 10.04.1 (non-gui) on an old Dell box. All goes well until it gets to the point of "Install the base system". I get a dialog "Media Change" with asks: Please insert the disk labeled 'Ubuntu-Server 10.04.1 LTS _Lucid Lynx_ - Release i386 (20100816)' in the drive /cdrom/ and press enter. I thought that was the disk I had inserted. I looked at the disk in another machine and it appears to be labeled simply "Ubuntu-Server 10.04.1 LTS i386". I did a check of the media before starting the install and have even tried a different DVD reader in the machine as I thought it might be an issue with the drive failing to read the disk. I again and again get the error shown above.

This is sometimes needed to use the University resources (libraries and computer programs) from remote locations, and otherwise a google search is fruitless. I had to have a guy in the computer science department show me how to do it.This may apply for other Universities with similar setups.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I setup VNC on my Mac (that runs Snow Leopard) and my PC (that runs Ubuntu) and I gave the IP address to Ubuntu, entered the password and it worked fine. The problem is that it still works fine... I only made this connection to test it because I thought it'd be cool, which it was (for a while). Now I cannot delete this connection whatsoever!
I have tried changing the password on the Mac, limiting the users, and even switching it off completely by unchecking its checkbox. I have also tried limiting the users... BUT UBUNTU STILL MANAGES TO GET INTO MY COMPUTER! This is really annoying because anyone using the PC downstairs can now go into my Mac and mess about with things - I hate this. Somehow, Ubuntu has locked in on my Mac and, despite the changes, can earn access no matter what!

2) Insert as follows:

3) OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED click Save As and save it as a quick connect so you don't have to refer to this again.

I did a base install, ran apt-get install xterm twm iceweasel xinit the install went fine, but when i run xinit, it says i need a link in /usr/bin called X to Xauth. I could not locate Xauth.
