Ubuntu :: How To Uninstall Beta Version Of Adobe Flash 10.1
Feb 18, 2010
Why is everything with this ubuntu so complex and difficult? This operating system turns the act of installing/uninstalling into a huge task. Just yesterday I installed the beta release of flash 10.1, I thought that it went into my firefox folder, but I checked firefox 3.5.7 plugins and it isn't there. So my question is, where on earth could it have possibly gone? Terminal said that it installed somewhere on my home directory, but I've been searching everywhere and I can't find anything. I know it's there because videos require flash work. where is my home directory, and what is it? I'm using ubuntu 9.10.
I'm noticing some sites I go to work flawlessly in version 9, but flicker with version 10.Other sitese work great with version 10, and some sites need version 10, like Fancast and Hulu. Is it possible to have separate browsers, for example Firefox running version 9, and Chromium running 10?
i uninstalled the latest version of adobe flash cause i dont like the latest and wanted to install and older version such as 10.1 from 11 June, 2010 but i dont know where to download a version of this for Ubuntu or how to install. So if any one can provide me a link to download this version and how to install it
I recently installed ubuntu 10.10 with no problemds and everythin was working up till the point I installed Adobe flash player, firstly mozilla installed a plugin which gave patchy coverage and then I was confused as to which full version to download and after trying them all none worked. What is the best version to download?
I have a 64 bit version of fedora 13. I've been trying to install adobe flash and I've tried a couple of different guides and none of them worked for me can anyone give me better instructions?
They have broken something in their download site and it is no longer possible to get the latest flash player in a .deb package by direct download. The FTP site is years out of date. And there is no way to get through the "help' system to contact the people running the web site.
So does some third party offer the latest flash player in a .deb package for download?
Just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to point me to a link for the adobe flash plugin version previous to version 10.1 for i386. I don't have anything in /var/cache/yum/i386/12/adobe-linux-i386/packages/ because I think I cleared yum's cache. I'm experiencing major regressions with flash 10.1, stuttering videos and some videos no longer play. Version 10.1 is a major disaster for adobe. It really is appalling for an update. Also, if anyone else is experiencing flash version 10.1 issues, please share and if anyone is considering upgrading to it, my advice is keep the old one handy, you will likely need it.
Today I installed an upgrade through update manager of the Adobe Flash Player Plugin and it breaks the flash in all three of my browsers: Firefox, Opera and Chromium. Had to revert to previous version to get it to work. Ubuntu Version 10.10 i386 Sony Viao Laptop.
In my F12 box, whenever I open ..... in firefox, it says either Java is disable OR install latest version of Adobe flash player. I checked in firefox prefrences menu and and there I see already Java / java-script checkbox in checked for enable and along with it I have the latest flash player installed as per the manual install suggested by the missing plugin notifier.
Could anyone tell me why I get this message when I try to install Adobe Flash Player version 10.1 APT for Ubuntu. I tried this with both firefox and chromium and got the same result .[URL]..
I don't know why and when the Adobe Reader 8 was installed in my system and its icon appears in the Application-> Office menu. Its interface is not English. So I want to uninstall it. I cannot find it in the list of System-> Administration-> Add/Remove Software.
I'm about to install Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit, and I'm wondering if I should install that Flash 11 64 bit beta? If so, a couple of questions: Should it perform better than the 32-bit version?
- If I install the 32-bit or an older version before, can I overwrite with the new one or is a full clean install preferred? How do I install it once I download it from here? [URL].. Is it really as simple as replacing the *.so file? Does Chromium/Chrome need this too or just Firefox?
I am still fairly new at using Ubuntu however I have Ubuntu 9.04 64b installed on my newly constructed Intel dual core PC. Everything is working fine however I have just installed the Skype beta deb package for Ubuntu 8.10+ 64b and it won't let me sign on. The installation as far as I know went fine however when I go to enter my UN and PW the "Sign In" button will not light up.
I think the pc updated, or at least that is the only thing I can figure. Anyhow, pc froze so I reboot system. I have dual setup, after choosing Ubuntu, I receive GNU GRUB version 1.97~Beta 4 error. I am also told to press TAB for further commands, but none of the commands seem to do anything.
I have XP and Ubuntu on my computer and both seemed to be working fine but now when I try to load into Ubuntu I get
Code: GNU GRUB version 1.97~beta 4 [minimal BASH line editing is supported for the first word. TAB lists possible commandvcompletions. Anywhere else tab lists possible device/file completions sh:grub>
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.
I did a "yum install thunderbird" to get the thunderbird emal program. I got a beta version: thunderbird 3 beta 4.Is Fedora so bleeding edge that this should have happened? I have not changed the repositories that the installation of FC11 uses.(I haven't used 3 beta 4 enough to have any complaints about how it works.)
I am thinking about upgrading my home computer to the beta. Having been burned by Microsoft's RC program and reloading my kids computers, I wondering if I will be able to move to the final release when it comes out at the end of the month. If the upgrade path from Beta->LTS is a complete reinstall, I'll wait.
I get this link [url] for change my version of flash, because I can't playing flash when I have turned on effects. So I downloaded file for my Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit and I extracted it. But there is problem, because I don't know on which location I need to copy .so file?
I tried the new flash 10.2 beta in the hopes that they actually improved things, but it doesn't seem like they have. 1) Video's still seem to go to the 0,0 position with multiple monitors. Always the left screen. 2) Clicking on the non-fullscreen monitor still causes the fullscreen to exit. 3) My video is still offset and shifted on players like ....., probably due to screen resolution.
So i wanted to install flash on my FC12 box so I downloaded the flash tarzip and when I extracted it it gave me the .so file. The instructions say to put it in ~/,mozila/plugins and restart firefox but it is not showing flash content after I copied it here.
