Apr 10, 2010I'm using ubuntu 8.04, and when I load some things, like some games, it tells me I need flash player 10. I have downloaded it multiple times and installed it multiple times but nothing is working as it should. Is it because I'm still on 8.04?

I tried installing the Flash Player. And pasted the "libflashplayer.so" file inside /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory. But still I am not able to play any video. Nov 18, 2010Does anyone know the correct procedure for upgrading Adobe Flash Player. I just installed Linux Mint Debian and noticed that my flash plugin is the old Shockwave Flash.
I've tried downloading the latest Flash Player from adobe. I unzipped it, and moved libflashplayer.so to where I thought the plugin directory was.
My main problem is that I don't know where to look for the plugin file. I tried /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins but as much as I played with the 'libflashplayer.so' file there, I could neither remove the plugin nor upgrade it. I've also tried the /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree directory but once again, I was unable to affect the plugin.

Sep 15, 2010When using anything that involves flash on google chrome, often the flash player crashes going black with an unhappy jigsaw piece inside. it also struggles at handling multiple tasks in different tabs. i know that adobe flash player is not designed for ubuntu, and will not run at optimum level, but i would like to know if anyone has done or knows anything that will make it more stable/quick.
