I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with Firefox 3.5.8 and Flash player 10.0.45.2.When my wife accesses Citibank's website, the flash content does not 'play' automatically. If I right-click and select play (see attached screenshot) things work normally. How do I configure firefox to play the flash content automatically, either globally or on a per website basis?

By this, I mean something similar to a wiki where inside a given page are links to other terms/ideas on other pages (in the same site). In reality, what I plan to link to/from are various articles which are inter-related but not entirely encyclopedic in nature (as many wikis such as wikipedia tend to be).
I am looking for two applications which I can use offline (I think--if you think I need something else, open to all ideas):
An offline application that is *very* simple at allowing me to create content articles as described above and to preview that the relative links work (if need be through a browser or some sort of preview) such that once I put them online I will have little/no necessary clean-up to ensure relative links still work. My articles will have both images and text and I also want to be able to relatively easily move the images around where I want them without having to mess around with HTML directly too much. The more WYSIWIG/visual, the better.
While I'm at it, any recommendations of how to easily get this content online?Also, can I worry about the template (CSS or whatever) later or do I need to do that right from the start? (Sorry, haven't done this stuff in about 3 or 4 years and my memory is lacking.)I use Ubuntu 10.04 and am trying to avoid KDE at the moment.
My DVD will not play DVD's. I can only play cd's/music. The drop down box tells me that an additional plugin is required to play the dvd content and do I want to search for this now. Naturally I said yes. The next drop down box says that search could not find plugin in any configured software source. I have been to www.liba52.sourceforge.net and found ; a52dec-0.7.4.tar.gz I'm not too confident about using this, but have it in my 'home' file on the desktop. If anyone thinks it is ok, how to install it. If its not ok, can you tell me how I can obtain the appropriate plugin. I have Fedora 10 installed. The DVD is a Pioneer 104.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem on a few flash games (a couple of EA's sports management games on Facebook, and the Pokemon Dream World.) When I first use them everything's fine, but as I continue coming back to them, they seem to run a little slower each time. Ultimately in the case of the former two it got so bad that they were unusual.
Why is this happening? If they were slow from the start I could understood, but what could be making them go wrong on repeated plays?
I'm on 32 bit Kubuntu Lucid, firefox is my browser, and it's the official flash plugin.
unable to view video content from the web. I'm not sure what changed, other than installing the recommended updates to Ubuntu about a week ago. I'm thinking a Flash update/reinstall might resolve the problem, but I can't seem to get the updates to install properly.

I'm writing a report, and I would like to have the content (index) page configured "automatically", so that it lists my headings in the rest of the document, but if I add something in the middle of what has already been written then it should pick that up and change the content page accordingly, without messing up the page numbers.
It's quite a pain to make a content page by hand. I think MS Word has a tool to allow you to do this, but I don't want to use MS Word in this case for various reasons. So does anyone know what this is called and perhaps how it is done on Writer. Although, if I know what it's called, I can use the Help.
I'm aware that there are no Bluray players for Linux but I'm wondering if it's possible to play Full 3D HD (1080p, Side-By-Side) MKV files (or Bluray BDMV folders, etc).
Full 3D HD files are actually two 1080p frames "side-by-side" so the effective resolution is 3840x1200. In order to play these properly the software needs to switch to TV into 3D mode (or however HDMI 1.4a works).
I don't think simply playing the 3840x1200 resolution file will work so are there any options out there?
After I did apt-get upgrade on 11.04 flash for chromium and firefox is not working. Videos with flash are blacked out. I tried Flash-aid and it didn't work. I went through the firefox optimization and troubleshooting but couldn't fix or find what the main problem is. Gnash and swfdec are both removed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like Chrome and Chromium seems really nice on ubuntu. In Preferences -> Under the Hood -> Content Settings -> Javascript, I have selected no javascript. I then go to Exceptions to enter file:///* or similar but the input control doesn't accept this. It seems to want to a domain name and doesn't like forward slashes.
I've looked in the Preferences file but after adding a dummy exception I see no details of that exception. Anyone know where these exceptions are so I can try to manually edit?

I am using firefox 3.6.1.5 (same prob with opera!) and flash 1.0.2.r152 in ubuntu 10.10 with compiz disabled and GPU Override set to true (no difference with false..) I tried FlashAID for a clean setup and I have only flashplugin-installer on my laptop (no gnash or libswf...), I also tried it with the package "adobe-flashplugin" same problem. This and the a2dp-skips are my last problems before a perfect setup.

different browsers did not solve the problem with blenders web page which is: [url] only google chrome solves partly ..... problem it arranges the videos but did not view the picture of any video.
ps: all updates are installed via update manager.
I've been struggling with Firefox and Flash for a while now and I'm finding that Firefox 4 has pretty well broken. No flash content is working in it at all but it seems pretty difficult to locate to remove and reinstall. I think I installed Firefox 4 from the Mozilla website originally. Most stuff works in Opera but I've been firefox for a long time so reluctant to change. I've searched for forums for similar problems but can't seem to see anything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled firefox 3.5 but that's not fixing the issue.

At the moment I'm using cclive for some sites, but it only supports a few websites. For the rest I try to find the movie in the source-code. View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having problems listening to windows media streams from a particular website ( http://radiotime.com ) whenever I try to listen to a stream from firefox, the page loads then connects but i have no sound (i am actually trying to listen to those two chinese radios [URL].. I have the mplayerplug-in/gecko-mediaplayer installed, but it doesn't work, I tought that maybe there was a problem with that plugin so I deactivated it and installed the vlc plugin, after restarting firefox and trying to listen to those streams again, the vlc plugin tried to read it but it still would not work. I even tried to install the Silverlight Plug-In without any result, does anybody know what I could do to make windows media audio streams work ? it is wierd because i seem to be able to watch windows media video streams from other websites, but i cannot listen to any stream from this one, it used to work for mp3 streams only, but after desinstalling/resinstalling the mplayer plug in, it doesn't work anymore on this website. I can listen to those streams without any problem under windows 7, so the problem isn't coming from the website.

All materials and prices are stored in the database and sometimes he's at a client site where there is no internet so he can't do a quote. Would the best option here be to install Ubuntu onto a flash drive with Apache and run he can run the browser on his Windows computer but it talks to the MySQL database on the flash drive. Would that work?

If I disable the adobe flash plugin, it is smooth without flash. If I restart my laptop, everything goes flawlessly. It did not if I restart the X service.This also affects the chromium on both the smooth scroll and the freezing at flashed sites. Additional information: Opensuse11.4 32-bit KDE.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried the "rpm", the "yum", and the "tar.gz" from the adobe site. Both rpms installed fine but I still can't view flash content in Firefox (missing plugin). The .tar.gz contained a .so file, but the installation instructions for the flash player said I should see an installer file in the .tar.gz, but I do not. I can't believe I can't even get flash player working. Their instructions said to check under "Help > About Plugins" but obviously Firefox does not and has never had such an option. I hate Adobe.

However, sometimes the sound doesn't work for flash content or pidgin. I have never had a similar problem and I don't know where to start in resolving this issue.
