General :: Pick A Flash Player Use Online Content (facebook Games)?
Dec 6, 2010
I just started using Linux today on an inherited acer aspire one laptop. got myself tied into my home's wifi, but now i need a flash player so I can play games and watch video. Adobe has 5 different options for linux and I don't have any idea which one to pick.
I just got fedora 13 today and put it on a slightly older computer to mess around with it, and two things I realized.
1. I installed Flash player through a program called easyLiving, but when i play flash games online like on armorgames, everything will play fine, but sound will play about 2 seconds late with actions.
2. I can't play .wmv files from my MP3 player, I found some codes online and installed them, but now it just looks like I have 3 different audio players in mozilla and I'm not sure which kind to enable, and I still can't play .wmv movies. (I actually believe that problem 1 is unrelated, because I noticed it before I started downloading different audio players.)
I'm trying to pick between the many online storage providers, and I'm a bit lost in trying to decide. I'm using Ubuntu (Karmic), so UbuntuOne is an option, but I've also heard good things about Dropbox and SpiderOak. Can anybody give me some advice on what the main differences are?
I recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 and I've been having problems with flash player. The problem occurs when I'm trying to play a video clip on You Tube or on similar sites. Video clips do not play properly, videos run slowly and with many interruptions, while on the other hand the sound is excellent and my internet connection is OK, only the quality of the video is poor. I am using: intel celeron 1800MHz 512 SD ram ATI Radeon 9550 Hardware Drivers displays no drivers for my graphic card...
are there any known issues/fixes you guys are aware of in ubuntu 9.10 for issues regarding videos and/or flash videos and games. i have yet to be able to make a flash game work....my gf wanted to play farmville on facebook with no luck and i just tried to watch a video on ..... and ultimately hadto restart my machine.
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.
So some flash games don't seem to play nice with Ubuntu. Some do. I have no problem playing Cursed Treasure, but when I try to play, say, Learn To Fly, the opening page loads, but then when I click the "play" link, it does nothing.
This is a weird one. I have Xubuntu on my computer and it shuts down when I play online games. I doesn't do so right away, but it happens randomly after some time (like 5-20min.). And any game will do the trick at some point. why and what to do about it?
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 AMD64 beta. After installing the flash player, everything worked fine. I installed a few updates, as well as Ubuntu Stuido from the synaptic package manager, and when I rebooted, I can't hear any sound from flash content displayed in Fire Fox. All other sounds work fine, and I made another user account as a test, and that account has full audio functionality, including flash...
I have FC14 i686 on a IBM T42 laptop and installed adobe flash direct from adobe. Firefox seems to play ..... etc fine. However, if I try to use the flash photo uploader in facebook or flickr, it appears that the flash component crashses.
Firefox continues to run though - only flash crashes (the upload window disappears)
I want to upgrade flash player (from 9 to 10) and need how-to in plain english. I have an asus eee-pc 4g/surf and several pages of notes and instructions but no matter what I do I can't seem to make it work.

I am trying to get started out setting up the new netbook and need flash player. I have gone on adobe's website to download it but have no clue which one I need to get. I have an Asus EeePC 4g but don't know what ?version? of linux it has on it.
I am using find to search for .tgz files modified more than 7 days ago and delete them.find /directory/ -iname backup*.tgz -daystart -mtime +7 -exec rm -rf {} My problem is that find will go through the content of tarball as well and list all content. I want to only search main tarball and delete it if older than 7 days.
I am running flash-player plug-in 10.0.32.10 inside of Firefox on a SLED 11 machine.Firefox can print to the network printer without issue from File > Print. However, I cannot get the flash-player plugin to print at all. The print dialog comes up, asks for which printer, and which pages.I click Print and it was as if I had pressed cancel.
I am a techie but a TOTAL linux novice. I am trying to get the CnM Minibook to run flash player websites, in particular Club Penguin. I have downloaded a command line program to run and I have found out some basic commands but I do not have a clue where to begin. Can anybody help? I do not know what version of Linux it is but the browser is Bon Echo.
I have barebones Debian Lenny, with bare bones Gnome Desktop. I'm using IceWeasel for a browser. I have downloaded the file install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz. from the Adobe website. I have unpacked (I guess) the file using the command tar -zxvpf install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz
Now according to the instructions at Adobe - Flash Player 10: Installation instructions It should be unpacked to a directory with an installer that can be run, but all I get is a single file called libflashplayer.so, and I haven't a clue what to do with it. .so is like a .dll file I guess. IceWeasel has a built in service that installs plugins, but this failed with flash.
My daughter bought a cnm netbook with linux, i have downloaded adobe flash player so she can play her games, but i cant open it, also i have connected wirelessly but i cant get a website to come up.
I'm using Fedora 13 and have the Adobe Flash Player installed. Some websites I view tell me that I need to install the flash player to view or listen to the content?? How do I get the flash player to work?
i installed Swfdec Flash Player from Ubuntu SOftware Center, how do you get flash player working on firefox? Also, how do you get music on ipods using linux ?
I have linux linpus lite and I am having trouble installing flash player 10. Once it gets into my downloads I open it and get a message asking me "do you want to install the update patch?" I click ok and it then says "the patch file does not available."
