I can't have pulseaudio on this machine. Second, Flash played with sound in F13 32bit w/o PA. I have gstreamer plugins and ffmpeg installed but still no sound. Is there any diagnostic output I can refer to to find what libraries are missing if any? Using Firefox. HW is Creative Audigy2 on Gigabyte AMD890 mobo, Phenom II 4 core Sound works everywhere except Flash.

I upgraded Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx, Alpha 2. Now I want to upgrade to Alpha 3, and eventually to BetaX. When I enter the command updata-manager -d, the system says that I am up-to-date. Is there a direct way to upgrade to the latest Alpha, or do I need to download the .iso, build a CD, and do an install from that?

I'm trying to load the flash stuff in webpages, but it says i need the flash plugin.
I download the YUM rpm installer, and use yum localinstall to do it.
Terminal say: /home/wade/Download/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm: does not update installed package.
I have already tried installing it, and it says it worked fine, but I'm still unable to view flash.

You may know that there was a security release for Adobe Flash Plugin for Linux x86 but not for x86_64. There has been a development:
See : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
It works fine here. I have a Multilib Slack 13.1 stable.

After the upgrade to Iceweasel 31.3, there has been messages popping up saying the browser has detected an outdated plugin and need your approval to run it. Since Debian is known for having old packages, I'd assume it's safe to ignore this message?
On another note, I visited a webpage but cannot load, it was blank. I visit the same website on another browser and it displays correctly. What could be wrong?

When using Linux, like Fedora or Ubuntu, can WINE run Abobe Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression or is there a program in Linux that has a similar user interface to Adobe or Microsoft? Further, does Amaya or Netbeans have free tutorials, or books or e-books? I need to adjust a Flash template, but things are going wrong with free trials of each, and I am concerned that if I buy the CDs that I may waste my money, as much as $600. I think WINE may run them, but Microsoft need net framework 4.0 and Silverlight, then the trial of Expression lasts 30 days.

Probably a stupid question. I want to install flashplayer- found the package on the adobe website- chosen the version (9.04+) and I then get the question 'Choose an application' - to open it with. What do I do now? This prompt simply takes me to file browser. Or is there an easier way to do it?

I have a client that is a strictly Windows user and I set him up an online quoting system where he can quote construction of buildings for his clients based on current prices of materials. All materials and prices are stored in the database and sometimes he's at a client site where there is no internet so he can't do a quote. Would the best option here be to install Ubuntu onto a flash drive with Apache and run he can run the browser on his Windows computer but it talks to the MySQL database on the flash drive. Would that work?

For those running the native alpha 64 bit Linux flash plugin from Adobe, I have updated Romeo-Adrian Cioaba's script to download the current update, 10.0.45.2.
automating the use of the Adobe version of Flash for 64 bit Linux systems.
To run:
Download then cd to location where you saved the file (typically ~/Downloads) then:
Code:
chmod 700 native-64bit-flash-installer10.0.45.2.sh
./native-64bit-flash-installer10.0.45.2.sh
