I have no clue what forum section this would go under. I'm looking for a renderer that will allow me to create a 3D room. I don't want a CAD program. I want a program that will allow me at some point to render the project, then using my mouse or arrow keys, "walk" through the room seeing such details as patterned walls, carpeting and any ambient sounds that it will allow me to put in.
I will have to code this. However I am lacking of time since I have too much to do. make a short code bash/dash to prompt the country with Zenity, then, get the PLS or m3u url and prompt with another zenity which radio to play. http://www.listenlive.eu/index.html
Is there anything like burning rom from nero or roxio cd/dvd copier. Do you know of any dvd copying program? like without making the image and then burning with just one process just copy the disc sorta program like roxio dvd copier? I wanted to make copies of movies I made a dvd of but aside from image burn which is a hassle to make the image first. is there something for burning on the fly or dvd/cd copying? infrarecorder and cdburnerxp do not work for me at all.
I have a jsp code. After executing that code, a Java program should be executed without refreshing the page. that is, my first page is a login page which is in jsp. After logging in the next page must be displayed which is a Java code. is that possible? Can we use applet for that?
I am looking for a very particular sound wave simulation program. To get an understanding of what i want let me describe it to you in a different way.
Imagine your look at a bowl of water from above and you poke the water at a specific frequency you will see wave patterns showing. Well im after a program that can generate that pattern with any particular frequency that i set, and to allow me to place different shapes and objects around the sound source or sources (i may want to use more than one sound source that may or may not be at the same frequency as first.) and see what kind of reflections i get.
I was also wondering if instead of a point sound source you could have an entire shape giving off a specific vibration. This will give very interesting results that i am also after.
There are some programs that show sound simulations that i have described but nothing that can do the requirements that i desire. Do any of you guys know of any programs that can do this? if not how much would it cost to build such a program?
i want to integrate audio library with android driver by using ALSA plug-in And now, i try to compile ".so" code from library that I'd downloaded from web-site. what program can i use to compile .so file
I asked in Absolute Beginners forum, and so far it seems, there actually is no easy way to run a .bin program in the gui without using the terminal and typing.

This seems like a major design flaw if true. What gives?
One of the things that I did along the way was uninstall one program (wicd) and reinstall another (network manager). Afterwards, things worked ok. Yesterday for some reason I don't understand, the error message I originally got with Wicd installed is back. I looked in the software center and it says it's not installed. I looked in synaptic package manager and It doesn't seem to be there. I tried the command (I learned it the other day- I really know VERY little commands) sudo apt-get --purge remove wicd. It says it's not installed. But it still comes up on every boot saying that it's looking for my wireless card and then complains about a d-bus error. I don't seem to have this program anywhere that I can remove it!
I developed a small C++ application with Qt for GUI.It is in /Pjt and I can run from command line using ./Pjt.But whenever I go to Ctrl+Alt+F1, it fails to execute saying that"Could not execute ./Pjt from tty's.(err:CANNOT CONNECT TO X SERVER)"
I have a file with two fields of numbers that I want to use as input for another program.
Code:
The above code does not work, as I think it would take the whole first and second fields as the input for one particular instance of the program 'inputbashangle'. What I want is to get the first two numbers from the first line of the file 'outfailtest', execute 'inputbashangle' with them, then move on to the first two numbers of the second line for all the lines of 'outfailtest'.
I have XBMC running on a computer that I have SSH access to. Sometimes, I need to restart XBMC for various reasons, but without connecting a mouse / keyboard, I have no way to. How can I issue a command via SSH to run the program on the main display in GUI mode?
I know I can build my document in OpenOffice and then export it to PDF, but that's lame, and it doesn't seem to be very good at PDF files. Also, what if I need to open and edit PDFs?I also know very high quality PDFs can be produced by LaTeX but that's way too complex..Then again, that is not specifically designated editor for PDFs.
I just got Karmic running tonight. I need to know how I set a program as default. For instance, if I select a photo or a song and I want a different program than what comes up. Also, is there a user manuel for this os?
I was wondering if it was possible to execute a program from RAM, like having the file data in a bash script variable and then running it. Something like this: ls=`cat ls` $ls So is it possible to run a program without touching the hard disk and without creating tmpfs or ramfs (it would need to be standard user privileges).
I'd like to make a launcher that starts a couple of programs at once. When I switch my brain into 'work mode' I'd like one click to start evolution, firefox and sunbird.
windows bothered me so much so i search the best operating system.first of all how to install any program.how to install it.? there is no one who have knowledge about linux in my area.
I am looking for a Ubuntu program to take the place of the windows application WinSCP. What I am looking for is the following:
1) Able to handle FTP and SSH (SFTP)
2) Able to have an explore view for the remote file system. (Directory Structure on left, files on right, and no local files).
3) Able to edit files and auto update them on saving the file (not on closing gedit).
4) Able to edit files without being prompted every time an edit is saved/uploaded.
5) Works reasonably well on slow connections.
So far I have tried sshfs, gftp, and filezilla.
sshfs satisfies (1-4) but becomes unbearable on slow connections, but works great over a local network. gftp satisfies 1, and 5. filezilla satisfies 1, 3, 5. If anyone out there knows a program which satisfies all 5 of my requirements or knows hows to configure the stated programs into meeting my requirements I can live without requirement #2 if the other 4 are met.
I'm trying to install a program called Slam Soccer 2006 (it's original name is bolzplatz2006). Anyway, no package is available, so I'm having to install it using the tar.gz file. I've read all the Documentation that I could find on ubuntu sites, and I think I understand the extract, configure, make, install process. However, I keep getting stuck on the ./configure phase. When I type ./confiure into the command line it keeps telling me that no such command exists. I tried downloading Kludge Tarball installer so I could have a graphic interface to walk me through the problem. Everything seems fine until I get to the configure phase and I get the following message:
sh: Can't open configure
