I accidentally deleted the default, upper, panel and I can't see how to get it back! I've tried recreating it but I cannot see how to populate it with certain items, specifically the wireless networking control applet. So how do I get back the panel i deleted?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that my upper gnome panel and Docky will disappear randomly. I've deleted the lower panel. The last time the panel and Docky did this, I was using Rhythmbox and Google Chrome. Tooltips will still show on Docky and the panel, and I can still select things; however, the buttons are invisible. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Also it would be great if it could be controlled without restoring the window. I mean, every time I want to pause the song or skip to the next track, I should restore the minimized window and do whatever I want. Is there a way to control from the task bar or upper panel?

At the top there is a bar that goes all the way across and it will not go away. I can't click on it to remove it. I reset gnome and it still stayed. The weird part is that it only stays on Desktop1 but not on 2,3, and 4. How do I get rid of this because it is annoying?

The integration of social networking from the top panel was one of my fav features however my niece got hold of my laptop and deleted it and I cant figure out how to restore it along with all of the features. I dont want to have to reinstall now after finally getting everything where I wanted it.

I found a way to have the messenger applet automatically check and display new emails, but now I don't know how to add the applet back. Its icon looked like an envelope. View 2 Replies View RelatedI followed some badly-spelled online instructions to get rid of the last panel (because I'm using Avant Window Navigator instead), which had me do this: Ok some people realize that the gnome panel in ubuntu is very annoying and if your like me you dont want it there anymore, so you wnat to get rid of it (only suggested if you have something like AWN ), ok first push alt+f2, then in that type gconf-editor inside of it. Now in that a box should apear. Click on apps, thenGnome, then session, then required sessions. Then there should be a file called gnome -panel right click it then choose edit, then make it empty. then save it press ctrl+alt+delete, then it should not be there but if it is run killallgnome-panel, and to run it again type in gnome-panel. I did it, and now I cannot startup. ( I just get a 'busy' cursor on a blank screen.)
