Ubuntu :: Save Settings In Alsamixer?

Feb 8, 2010

I was finally able to make the internal mic of my Vaio w12 work properly both sound recorder and in skype...I added this line in alsa-base.conf

Code:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto
The problem is that everytime i restart the netbook the "Input so" switch automatically to "Front mic" instead to keep the setting "Int mic".

I tried to use sudo alsa ctl store but nothing change...Maybe there is another way for to set "input so" to "Int mic" by default.Im using Ubuntu 9.10 desktop 32 bit.

I am using a headphone and when I listening to music I reduce speaker sounds and increase headphone and master sounds using "alsamiser -c 0" command in terminal. But at the end of each song, speaker sounds automatically increased.so I have to increase the headphone and master sound and reduce speaker sounds at beginning of every song.

When I restart the machine master, speaker and headphone sounds usualy become silence. Is there any why to save the alsamixer settings or any other way to correct this error.

Fedora :: Save Setting In Alsamixer - Get 6ch Every Time After Reboot?

Jul 21, 2010

I change the audio channels to 6 in alsamixer by choosing my sound card and change the channels to '6ch'. But this setting is not preserved. I see that after a reboot the channels are again going back to 2ch. I have to manually change everytime to 6ch after each reboot. Is there a way to save the setting in alsamixer so that I will get 6ch everytime after reboot? I am not sure I have explained my problem in a way so that you can understand.

OpenSUSE :: Sharing Of Chromium Settings / Share The Browsers And Email Settings?

Sep 28, 2010

I have a triboot windows suse 11.3 stable and suse 11.3 factory pc, I would like to share the browsers and email settings between the suse stable and factory, I succeed with thunderbird and firefox moving the /home/.thunderbird and /home/.mozilla in an ext3 shared partition and linking these in the respecive /homes, I found that there isn't a /home/.chromium folder, I found probably /usr/lib64/chromium could be the same as /home/.mozilla for firefox, but I don't know if is secure or can damage my system to move this in a ext3 partition and then link this to the respective /usr/lib64/chromium, /usr/lib64/chromium has root owner, root group, visible and modifiable for root and only visible for group and other.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Saving Alsamixer Volume Settings?

Apr 8, 2011

When i installed Ubuntu, everything worked fine, sound drivers installed automatically and volume was perfect. Then one day as I was talking to a friend on skype, I tried changing the output to speakers from my headset during the call and i didnt get any output. I tried changing a few settings, can't remember which ones exactly until I noticed someone had pulled the audio cable from the back of my PC. I replaced it but I started getting very very low sound.I found out about alsamixer and when I ran it, I found that the volume on that device was turned down, i turned it up and voila! sound back to normal. However, now when I reboot, my sound goes down again. I have tried deleting the asound.state file and running the save command, "sudo alsactl store 0" I think, as someone suggested, but no cigar.

Ubuntu :: Chromium - File Contains User Settings?

Nov 10, 2010

I have the Ubuntu font set in Chromium via the tools>>preferences>>personal stuff settings and I decided to change it to something else. However, even after hitting restore defaults and manually selecting new fonts, the font remains the Ubuntu font. I even went into System>>Preferences>>Appearance and changed the fonts there to something else just to see if it helped, but no luck.

I then did a purge via terminal with apt-get of Chromium, then reinstalled. Same result.

So where is the user file that contains these settings so I can delete it and have the program create a new file with default settings? Or is there an easier way to achieve the same result (default)?

Edit: on this machine I am on 10.04

Ubuntu :: Custom Compiz Settings Will Not Save?

I am experiencing a similar problem as this thread but I do not use the fusion-icon.[URL].. Compiz will not save custom settings when compiz-settings-manager is used. It will save setting thru "Simple-settings-manager". In addition, some settings will not take effect immediately. Example: The "viewport switcher" in "Desktop-wall". Color changes will not take effect unless I change the "preview scale".Quote:
