Do you know of a way to have the master password in a file on a USB stick?
I am also looking for a way to integrate keepassx with firefox. I found passifox at[URL].. It depends on keepasshttp and seems to be a windows thing.
OpenSUSE Network :: How To Avoid Typing Route Add Default GW
Jan 14, 2010I have a static ip on my wired (eth0) connection. I thought I had it well set up in yast. In the routing section I do have my default gw coming up there, with the the right nw i/f (eth0) associate with it. However, when I boot up, y config seems to ignore that fact, and I have to keep goign to root and typing "route add default gw <mygwip>" each time, which is something I want to avoid. Isn't it odd that the route settings created by yast have no effect? If they did, the route would be set up on bootup and I would haven't to do that typing.

Mar 9, 2010I'm really new to Linux so this will probably sound like a pretty naive question to most users, but how do you change the root password?To install Java, I have to type # su into Terminal,which then asks for the password.What's weird is that when I start typing a password, no characters show up. I don't know if this is supposed to happen or not.I've found a bunch of different sites on the Internet that explain how to change the root password, but none of them seem to work for my specific work station.
I've got Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit. In the GRUB boot menu, I can choose to boot normal or in recovery mode (I'm led to believe older versions don't have this option).I've tried typing # sudo passwrd into Terminal, but I already have a root password set up apparently, so I can't change it there.

Apr 23, 2010I thought these were the same password?In-fact, they WERE the same password on the set-up I currently have.But now, weirdly, I can log in fine but I the exact same password is not using in order to perform admin tasks.I've tried a recovery mode, console, and then "password (username)" in order to reset the password.This does reset the password I need to use to log in, but the password still does not work for performing admin tasks

Mar 25, 2011I'm trying to run a script that needs root privileges without typing in the password. I want to copy a file from my documents folder into /etc/X11 to overwrite my xorg.conf. I do this because I will have my computer switch from my monitors to my TV when I watch a movie. But I'd like to be able to make it a clickable icon so I don't have to type in cp /... /etc/...
This is my "script"

Then I read a lot of places that said to add this to the sudoers file (sudo visudo)

I've done all that, and I still get asked for my password when I run that file.

%nertskull ALL = ...
%users ALL = ...
%admin ALL = ...
I'm sure it's something simple I'm overlooking, but I've read 5 different threads on this, and I can't find anything they did that I'm not doing. Also, here is my sudoers file, because I know location within the file matters. But what I read said I should be putting my stuff at the end.

Jan 5, 2011After connecting to any host, the openssh client hangs after I type the password. The strange part is, it only hangs if when I use the wlan card. If I connect my phone to the computer and uses it to connect to my server, it works 100%.
If I use any other computer at the wireless network, it works 100%
If I use putty on the same machine, it works 100%
It is only a problem when I use the build-in wireless card, under openSuSE 11.3, on my Lenovo L512. (note that everything besides ssh works completely).

I made it executable, put in /usr/local/bin and updatedb. Then I made a launcher pointing to the bash script. The problem is, If I use the launcher, it never asks for your admin password so, the folder doesn't get created.
