I am using Ubuntu 10.04 with Amarok 2.3.1 and I am having some problems with the Automatic Playlist Generator. I have not found my solution on these forums and I have searched google, and I am fairly new to using Amarok 2.
Every time I use the Automatic Playlist Generator, only 30 tracks are introduced into the playlist. Why is this? I don't want a limit to the amount of tracks which are selected.
I am trying to emulate a .bat file I have on Windows. The script turns all the mp3 files into a m3u file.So far I have found the command "ls -1 >playlist.m3u *.mp3" this works great but what I want is to drag a file into the folder an album is in and then double click and it will run the command. I tried making a launcher and put that command on it, it seems to open up a terminal window but no playlist.m3u is generated. Could you tell me what I am doing wrong?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm recompiling my kernel on a dell latitude c600 running lenny as I type, and it's taking forever, so far upward of 4 hours.I think I'm getting drivers for ever piece of computing hardware since the univac So I googled "a kernel conf creator" and got [URL]... Its a nice, clean method for finding what hardware your using... you just run lspci cpuinfo make xconfig and put in all the info yourself. So I was thinking: this is exactly the kind of dull, repetitive behavior that computers were made for. Is there a program that can find my hardware info, and make the.config itself, with very little user input?Or should I reinstall debian on another partition and steal the .config from it? Or should I man it up and do it myself?
View 14 Replies View RelatedUsually when I install a sequence of tracks in the Amarok playlist, it plays them in order, advancing to the next track after each is played. But it seems now to be in some state where it doesn't automatically advance -- after completing a track, it just stops. I can manually start the next track, however. What is needed to cause the automatic advance? (I'm running Amarok 2.3.2 under KDE 4.5.1 and Kubuntu Maverick 10.10.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on Ubuntu 10.04, Amarok version 2.3.0, Using KDE 4.4.2 Whenever I start Amarok and try to play any song, amarok crashes, smetimes a few seconds of the music can be heard even if the Amarok window is no longer there. This is my yakuake code from starting Amarok to the crash, I don't really know where to start looking for an answer.

I've just installed opensuse 11.2, its cool man..the problem is : i open amarok (just fine) and i add couple of song but they won't play. there is something i miss..?

I had some problems so I erased .kde folder and reboot my computer. KDE 4.6 works fine and fast (in my opinion, faster than KDE 4.5) but I have problems with Amarok 2.4. When I try to scan my music collection Amarok don't find any song. I have a NTFS partition in my computer and I have all my music there. I mount the partition since fstab and in 6 months I didn't have any problem. I can use Clementine for exmple and scan all my songs perfectly, but not Amarok.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for some pointers on a method to "transfer" the song-playing from my laptop to my PC, both running ubuntu. The use case is: I'm home listening to some song on the laptop. Then I realize how crappy the speakers are. Here's what I do *now*:
1. Stop playback on the laptop
2. Get up, go to the PC, open the music player
3. Find the same song
4. Try to find the same point in the song
5. Stop playback on the laptop
6. Start playback on the PC (the PC has good speakers)
Of course now I'm dreaming of having a "button" I push that does all this all by itself. Can anyone give me some pointers?
For the last few releases, I've remained with Amarok 1.4, but now that I've deemed Amarok 2 stable enough, I've upgrade, however, the lyrics to my songs (which I put in a lot of effort in downloading), are not reflecting. Is there anyway to export lyrics from Amarok 1.4 and import them in Amarok 2?

As far as i know VLC is the best media player for linux bc it suppurts all file types. But there is one anoying problem - when i want to listen to song it opens VLC, but when i open another song it opens another new VLC window. And this problemug or whatever didnt apear in Windows version VLC player.

I have a VPS server with 512 MB memory. The php.ini is set so script memory limit = 16 MB. However, I have noticed in my top report, instances like the following:

The bold number of 6.4 is the % of sever memory this process is using. 6.4 % of 512 MB of memory is about 32 MB of memory, so it appears that this isn't being limited by php.ini. Am I correct? This leads to the next question: Is there some way to limit the amount of memory a single suphp process can use? (Basically, something like the setting in php.ini which limits suphp processes in the same way.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed ISE 12.2 DSP edition trail version and I have matlab 2009b edition. After a brief search I found [URL] this. But directory hierarchy is different in 12.2 than that of mentioned in that forum link.
I have installed matlab at /home/trans/Matlab and xilinx at /home/trans/Xilinx. Though I have sysgen_startup.m at /home/trans/Xilinx/ISE_DS/ISE/sysgen/util if I try to run sysgen by using command "./sysgen" I get error as
ERROR: Could not find SysGen startup script at "/home/trans/Xilinx/ISE/sysgen/util/sysgen_startup.m".
As per the above mentioned link I found sg_config at /home/trans/Xilinx/ISE_DS/ISE/sysgen/bin/lin and used command "./sg_config -install_to_matlab /home/trans/Matlab" I get message like this

I have left the system running at that point for almost 2 hrs, with no way to get past that. System isn't locked up. It has never done this before. My aim is to generate : 10-character combinations of the following characters (lowercase) 23456789abcdef with no more then 3 same letters repeates no metter side by side or within one line (sequence) so lets say

which is probably permutation with repetable string ( where abc is not equeal to cba etc .so ti speak position does metter)

so generally we dont want 3 same characters apper in same line.
what i want to be able to do is add a song or video to a current playlist in VLC. i know that sounds simple, but i wanna do it from my music folder, so right click on the file then "add the playlist" like in windows (i shall headbutt a wall for saying i want something like windows).dont know where to start on this at all, not sure what to google or anything.i was using rhythmbox but it skips when streaming across the network so thats out unless i fix that issue.

I have never worked with databases before, and would like to create one to be a "workout generator." i.e. have a name of workout, list of equipment, list of exercises, and instructions. Then be able to search by any of the above parameters (for example dumbells and pullups) to get a list of options. I assume a relational database is my best option, but my brief looks at SQL etc they seem quite complicated. A GUI frontend and good documentation are highly desired. GTK is also preferred.
