Software :: Support Suit Similar Software?
Mar 15, 2010
I am looking for a similar software for support suit under linux this software is for ticketing in server seller management of users and staffs. Is there any free software better than that under linux or is there any useful application that can joint with it for ticket pop ups (I mean when a new ticket arrive, that application pop it up on the monitor and it does not need any busy wait act of the user) like gmail notifier.

I am after some suggestions on how I could change my mounting method to suit my needs.At the moment, I simply mount the device to a location as root.What I would like to do is setup automounting, but in a particular way. In particular, I would like it if when I put in a usb stick, it would be automatically mounted to say /media/usb1, and a second stick would be to /media/usb2, while an esata connected drive would go to /media/sata1
Even better would be if I put in the first usb stick and it was mounted at /media/usb1, it would *always* be mounted at /media/usb1, no matter what order I connected it to my computer in.I would also like to quickly ask about the difference about udev rules and HAL. At the moment I have only used HAL for my touchpad, and have not touched udev at all. What are the differences/advantages etc...

I'm trying to find out when QME2572 (Qlogic) card became support by the kernel. We have a RHEL 5.1 system that is moving to new hardware, however the kernel at this release doesn't support the new hardware, due to the Qlogic card change. I tired the Redhat KB and Bugzilla. Is there a Kernel change list etc I can search. Never really played around with the kernel too much so I'm just after some pointers for looking up this information. Offically its not supported until Redhat 5.3, I'm trying trying to research kernel info so I can tell the customer they have to upgrade.

I'm looking to dual-boot Windows 7 and Debian 6 upon its release on my sister's laptop. I want to share a partition between the two of them so that /home points to this directory and the Windows equivalent also points to it (C:Users).
Anyway, I've heard good and bad things about the NTFSMount driver (I think it's NTFS-3G now) and the NTFSprogs project and so I am not so certain what I should believe. I do know that NTFS has relatively high overhead, though I do not recall the source of this assertion, so I am considering the use of EXFAT. An open source EXFAT project is hosted on Google Code at [url] and it utilizes the kernel module FUSE.
I'm quite certain that I've got everything covered on the Windows side -- that is, I know that both NTFS and EXFAT will be suitable filesystems for my required usage.
My issue is that I'm curious which will have superior performance and stability in Debian. I planned on building the package from source and mounting the device in my FSTAB but I have also found a PPA for Ubuntu on Launchpad at [url] that I could borrow the debian/rules from and make a .deb package from.
What do you guys think? Should I go at it with the EXFAT or NTFS partitioning? Is NTFS-3G actually fairly supported at this point? Or perhaps should I consider some alternate method?
I have also considered that the only files she will be sharing are those of music, videos, and pictures so it could be better to just link /home/xxxx/Pictures (Music and Videos, too) to the new partition instead of all of /home.

consider these lines of code and their outputs:
[CODE]
int C = 0;
fprintf(stdout, "
(C, ++C) Bef = %d, Aft = %d
", C, ++C);
fprintf(stdout, "(C++, C) Bef = %d, Aft = %d
", C++, C);
[Code].....
The only one that looks right to me is the second one. I get similar results using both gcc and g++.

Trying to get time and date based notifications to appear on my screen. When I was running kde, kalarm worked great for this. Now I'm running gnome. Tried osmo but the dialog for setting up recurring events represents a tale told by an idiot.
Tried running a batch script via cron and dialog. The script runs but the dialog message doesn't appear on my screen.

I installed opensuse 11.4 on a virtual box , made tweaks, edits, updates, installs, and I want to install it on a hard drive but I want to install it with all the tweaks/installs i made in virtualbox. There's a program in Ubuntu called Remastersys that will create an ISO with all the packages and updates already on the distro and I'm looking for something similar in OpenSUSE. Can it be done? Is there another route I can take that will create an iso out of all the software updates/installs thats I've made?

Just a quick question as I re-familiarize myself with apt-get again. So far, have had no luck finding what I am trying to do (back to the man page) Basically, after doing a 'apt-get update' command, was it possible to see what packages have newer versions and can be upgraded?
For example, I am working with a system that has BASE 1.4.3 installed, and I know there is a newer version out (1.4.4), but want to make sure that is in the repository. Does apt-get have something similar to portmaster in FreeBSD? Where it tells you what version you have installed, and what version is available to download?

I would like the ability to sync my phone with my Ubuntu machine in a similar manner to that of the Nokia PC Suite in Windows. Anyone have any suggestions WRT Linux applications (more specifically Ubuntu, but I am not really that picky) that mimic the functionality of Nokia PC Suite (even partially)? It doesn't need to be specific to Nokia either, any brand of phone is fine as I haven't made my mind up as to what brand I am interested in.

Is there some program out for linux that is similar to ndiswrapper, in the sense that it can use Windows drivers for printers? As of right now, printing has been one of those issues I've had in linux for years, but I was lucky enough to have a supported printer. On other machines, including family members, they are not so lucky enough to have a supported printer.

Is it possible to have command line completion similar to 4nt? In Terminal you have to type most of the name before it will complete for you, otherwise it just displays a list of names. Are you supposed to read from there and copy filenames? And the upper/lower case stuff is really ugly. Is there a smart command line utility that can build the entire path for you, and recall history based on a partial string?
