I opened each and every file with flv the videos on ..... I did not saw in firefox cache at both the locations.I was wondering has this been changed in Lucid 64 bit.

I have been away from Linux in general and Ubuntu since 2006, but now wish to make Linux, and probably the Ubuntu distribution, my main operating system, especially for the Internet. I have been using Open Office since version 1.0, so no training or migration is necessary there. However, I have one challenge with my Ubuntu 9.1 ... movies which play under Windows will not play in Ubuntu. Under Windows Firefox needs Adobe Flash Player 10 to play these videos ... is there some open source software that will give Ubuntu Firefox the same capability?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a boot-able CD from a downloaded 10.04 (amd64) iso file. I downloaded the iso file and burned the CD according to the instructions on the ubuntu site. The CD would not boot and the only message was ISOLINUX .... then the computer shut down. Re-downloaded the iso file, re-burned CD, same result. Installed new CD drive, re-burned, same result. What I'm I missing? I'm fairly new to Linux but have been using 8.04-10.04 for about six months. I'm trying to make a boot-able Live CD so I can do a clean install on a new HD.

Downloading them at the same time should not have been the problem as I've done it before. This was done after a fresh install of 9.04 Jaunty I had a problem with previous installs I have of an upgraded lucid 10.04 Could several partitions cause a file corruption, I know I had a file problem with Ubuntu one across several partitions.

Ok I installed VLC & greasemonkey on YDL 6.2. It works like a charm and I can watch ..... videos in full or small screen. It doesn't work for any other sites though. How can I make it work for all flash videos. I installed something else that searches for scripts but no matter how many I add it won't work for any sites flash videos but ...... I want to be able to play all flash videos. Also since the ps3 xmb is only good for watching flash videos for any site. What does it use? Something has to work with the IDM cell processors. I was wondering if we could run whatever the ps3 xmb uses to play flash on ydl?

after the netinst finished to download the last package, one hour later the process never continues, I checked the log file and I didn't find anything suspecious, also dmesg and nothing, in fact, in the log file before checked I found that the last line was registered just a minute ago - DHCP renew IP-, so my questions are:
1. all the packages downloaded are gone?, can I restart the installation using all those packages downloaded?
2. where I can find the error or problem that cause that the installation was freezed?
3. in the case that installation needs to start from the beginning, can I use the package downloaded?
I had been having problems with Thunderbird 3, so decided to install 2.0.0.24. I carefully cleaned out all the 3.0 files. So I downloaded it. Opened it with tar and can see that there is now a Thunderbird folder with all inside of it. But how do I make it run?
If I use "whereis" to locate the file to make it run, it says it is in /etc but i sure can't see it. There is a thunderbird file that seems to be the one in the thunderbird folder, but double clicking and mark "run" does nothing.
