Software :: Build A Rpm To Copy 3 Libxx.so.0 Files To / Usr / Lib?
Oct 14, 2010
I need to build a rpm to copy 3 libxx.so.0 files to /usr/lib. I need to do this as I am building a custom fedora remix using FC12. I am very much new to write a pro spec file and I thought you could help me out. I wrote one as mentioned below
I have an init script running as a special build user which performs an automated build that fails with (Too many open files).I updated /etc/security/limits to allow the special user more open files, but that didn't work - the init script still isn't allowed more open files.Here's a demonstration of the problem;
Lately i have been working on LFS, DIY Linux and of course Slackware. It has come to my attention that another project called Jaguar Linux which was related to Slackware has previously existed. This project seems to have vanished almost completly from WWW beside the front page cached on archive.org.
Does anybody have a copy of a reference build or know where i can find one?
I am currently using live-build version 2.0.12-1 with squeeze
I am building a usb-hdd with lenny.
when building, the following files from the directory "./config/chroot_local-includes/etc/ssh/" are not copied to "./chroot/etc/ssh/". ssh_host_dsa_key ssh_host_dsa_key.pub ssh_host_rsa_key ssh_host_rsa_key.pub
But the following file are copied. moduli ssh_config sshd_config
I have a 160GB harddrive which I installed a F12, would like to upgrade to a bigger drive, but I hate to have to re-install everything.
Recommend a good disk copy utility? The utility should be able to not only copy files, but boot sector and everything. So I just need to make a copy, change my BIOS to boot from the new drive and run everything as before.
just installed ubuntu couple of days back on my netbook. I am still a beginner, enjoying my adventure exploring ubuntu. I have another desktop which runs on XP. I am able to access XP shared folders through my netbook(linux). However, i wanted to copy files from XP infact folders using TERMINAL in my netbook, not copy and paste using my mouse. Are there any commands for it?
Is there a method at the command line to copy files from one location to another and retain the source files group and user?I'm migrating some MySQL files from one machine to another.I want to back-up the original files in the directory presently. They have owner:group of mysql, some have owner:group root:mysql and so on. To copy them under cli or Nautilus everything changes to root for I execute sudo cp or gksudo nautilus and copy via gui.
Since it is MySQL data I could simply do a dump of the database and restore it on the other machine. But there's about 20 db's and I want to do this via a copy for it will be faster - at least that is what I think.
When i installed ubuntu. I made a seperate partition so that i could copy an ISO image onto it of an up-to-date version of ubuntu. I wanted to then boot the ISO up so i could install the version that way.I've already tried doing it through the update manager but it'll download, almost be done with installing and it freezes on me. so i figured this would be easier. However i do not know how to gain access to the other partition to copy the ISO image.
I have many files and folders in my source folder. I want to copy some files and folders from that source folder to destination folder. What should be require to given with the "cp" command?
I am trying to build an application on linux and it requires compilation of several files along with my application. Till now I have been trying using a makefile which is built for a test application which uses almost the same files as the mine by replacing its main.c file. But mow have ended up writing everything, function declarations, definitions... in the same file looks very unprofessional and is quite difficult to manage. an IDE to build this? I saw quite a few IDE's supported on linux but they are all appropriate for C++, GTK, java languages and not C.
I am modifying the the xf86-input-summa driver to work with my older Bitpad One digitizer (the Sketchpad uses a slightly different communication, two more bits resolution, etc), but i hve a problem building. I ran configure and it reported no errors, but when I make I get missing header files, like:
xf86Summa.c:33:25: error: xf86Version.h: No such file or directory xf86Summa.c:122:24: error: xf86Config.h: No such file or directory xf86Summa.c:124:24: error: atKeynames.h: No such file or directory
I'm in love with my Opensuse 11.2. Love my KDE 4.4. The only thing I miss from my Ubuntu installation, is the ability to use Boxee. I would be more than willing to compile Boxee from source. I only have 2 problems with that:
1) I don't know where I can find all the build-deps or what they are for that matter to build Boxee.
2) I'm running on a Netbook. Yes, my measly Intel Atom is no fun for compiling and building.
What are my options/what can I do to get Boxee up and running on 11.2? I've tried searching on build service for an RPM, but I think due to legal restrictions, Boxee can't be on there.
looking for LIBEVENT... configure: error: Package requirements (libevent >= 2.0.10) were not met: In order to build transmission 2.21.I need libeventnew version of transmission,I need to build libevent-dev >= 2.0.10 and installed first.But I can't get any information about building development files for libevent.
as I'm advancing in building some nice rpm I finally wanted to install on of my gems also the build was successful the actual install fails with missing dependencies.
Code:
$ rpm --root /home/sascha/rpmbuild/ -i ./RPMS/x86_64/memcached-1.4.1-2.x86_64.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libc.so.6()(64bit) is needed by memcached-1.4.1-2.x86_64 libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit) is needed by memcached-1.4.1-2.x86_64
I am upgrading a QNAP NAS - the unit only had 1 drive to begin with. I have taken this original drive out and hooked it to my ubuntu system and when I boot my machine ubuntu sees the volume that was the volume the qnap shared. and it sees MOST of the files. but when I go to copy stuff it gives errors stating things like 'can't copy data2.cab' - when I go the directory where it claims it can't copy data2.cab there is no data2.cab.
Thing is I am pretty sure there *IS* a data2.cab ... just that the rights or something are such that I cannot see / copy it. is there a simple command I can run on the *entire* drive that will set the ownership of ALL files so that I can see and move them? I just need to copy all these files over to the upgraded nas and then I can reformat this drive.
i have a macbook that wont boot. i want to copy the picture and music from the hd. i took the hd out and put it into my dell inspiron. i booted up with a live cd and im able to view the files. i can play the music. i just cant copy anything to my external hd. its telling me i dont have premissions. i tried to change that in the properties but it wont let me.
the problem is that when i try to copy two files with the name(say ajax.js and Ajax.js) to a pen drive/USB it shows the options for either Replace/Skip. with the above two options either one of the ajax.js files will be copied, but i need these two files. I have also used different USB's, but no difference...

My goal is to install the i386 build on one partition and the 64-bit build on another. I have been away from Linux for a while and am sick to death of Win7, want to come home. :-}
Booted on i386 side of DVD, system freezes after a couple of lines that start with ATA2. Does not respond to 3 finger salute, ctrl-c, nothing. Have to press reset. I have tried both huge.s and hugesmp.s kernels
Booted on 64-bit side, comes up fine. I performed the install, selected for automatic lilo install. Lilo install hung but I was able to reboot. I booted off the 64-bit side again, entered the following: huge.s root=/dev/sde3 rdinit= ro It booted fully to the login prompt but the keyboard does not work, no input.
I'm a newbe with linux, thought it's a great OS but I'm nearly giving up. Nothing works like it should, to copy stupid files across you have to be some kind of wizz to do it. I installed fresh copy of fedora 13, created folder on the desktop and connected via usb external hd. Now, there is no way of coping files from my desktop to the USB drive as i get"error while coping to USB-Storage" The destination is read-only. Permissions - sure but there is nothing there sa tehy could not be determined.
Anyway, hoping someone can give me a light from the dark tunnel, so i don't have to go back to windows..
I'm trying to copy files to the /var/www folder on Ubuntu 10.04. But I think I don't hava the permission. How can I do this? Maybe I have to set the rights permissions.
Possible Duplicate: Linux equivalent to robocopy? I have two websites - one is basically a development version and the other is a production version of the same site. So I'd like to be able to merge the changes made to the development site based on the modified date of the files. Is this possible with the 'cp' command?
When I use ldd it prints the location of the depends.Is there a way to copy the depends listed to a location in a single command or streamline it? I don't want to copy each dependence once at a time.
Why can I not drag and drop files to the new volume in dolphin? I tried doing it as root and it basically told me the same thing, that I cannot write in this volume...
