Jul 27, 2011I need a good SNMP MIB browser for Debian. Preferably something that can delete rows from tables.
View 3 RepliesI need a good SNMP MIB browser for Debian. Preferably something that can delete rows from tables.
View 3 RepliesI tried a lot of web browsers, but I can't find a good one.
I want a web browser that:
- can open most webpages and show all content including javascript, flash and whatever (unlike elinks which is text-only)
- is controllable entirely by keyboard and preferably with vim-like controls. (unlike firefox, google chrome).
- works out of the box (unlike uzbl)
- is fast
- is bugfree (unlike firefox and uzbl)
- is configurable
So please recommend a good web browser and tell me what features would make a web browser good.
I'm trying to configure SNMP service to send traps to SNMP server. I've installed net-snmp-utils, now I need to configure the "snmpd.conf" file...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm configuring a server for Zenoss monitoring over SNMP, but the SNMP process is running on 127.0.0.1:161 instead of 0.0.0.0:161, according to "netstat -an | grep -i udp".
Not sure why this is happening, but Zenoss reports that SNMP is not running due to this. My snmpd.conf file is the same as all of the other servers that are running SNMP, but this is the first Debian server I've tried to add (the other's are CentOS).
iam trying to install net-snmp-5.5.zip in debian system. The steps i followed are,
1) ./configure --prefix=PATH
2) make
3) make install
4) copied the mib file in to PATH/share/snmp/mibs.
5) copied the config file in to PATH/share/snmp.
till this every thing is proper.i am able to install in user defined path which i mentioned during configuration, that is other than the default directory /usr/local.
the problem i faced is when #include <net-snmp/net-snmp-config.h> is used in our application it is showing net-snmp/net-snmp-config.h : No such file or directory.
I have debian Lenny as an server I would like for monitoring of some network components ( switches, printers, routers ... ) and at
/usr/share/snmp/mibs I have
/usr/share/snmp/mibs# ls -l
total 1844
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 17455 2008-12-16 18:22 AGENTX-MIB.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 36576 2008-12-16 18:23 BGP4-MIB.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 36959 2008-12-16 18:23 BRIDGE-MIB.txt ....
ls -l | wc -l shows 66, what means 66 differen mibs.
snmp related packages I have installed are as :
dpkg -l | grep ii | grep snmp
ii libgsnmp0 0.2.0-2.1 an SNMP library implementation based on glib and gnet
ii libsnmp-base 5.4.1~dfsg-12 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) MIBs and documentati
ii libsnmp-perl 5.4.1~dfsg-12 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) Perl5 support
ii libsnmp15 5.4.1~dfsg-12 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) library
ii snmp 5.4.1~dfsg-12 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) applications
ii snmpd 5.4.1~dfsg-12 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) agents
My question is, how I can install additional mibs ( for Cisco, Procurve, etc ) for other hw I could have ? What is procedure. I browsed debian package base and I could not find some more packages related to snmp that could supply more mibs.
Because a lot of them either refuse to install because of incompatibility for 64-bit Operating systems or they just don't work very well for recording video games, such as TF2.I found one, but it appears to have been abandoned for some reason, what a shame. It's GLC, but I can't figure out how to record WINE apps. I can't figure out what to record. The wiki tells me to record a "wine-pthread" but it says that it can't be executed nor is there such a file that exists on my computer. Are there any more options other than GLC? Or could I get some help with it?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a USB-connected webcam that works ok with linux and performs well with outdoor lighting. My goal is simple: I want to connect it to my Debian router, point it out of the window and grab frames off the cam and make it available on a web page.I've got the setup working ok with some prehistoric cam, but the image is terrible. (It's a HW issue - the cam. is junk.) So I'd like to get a better cam.I know there are cams built specifically for this usage, but it's above my price range. For me, the most expensive I'm willing to go is the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 for Business (~130 USD in a local store), or preferably cheaper. I don't want/need any sort of enclosure for outdoors, as the cam will be indoors, behind a window.
Also, I wonder how does focusing work with linux. The only webcam I've ever had had a manual focus ring. Some of the cams claim to have autofocus. I guess it's host controlled. That probably doesn't work in Linux. (?) Anyway, for my usage, autofocus would be in the way, I suppose. (I don't want it to try to focus on the sheet of glass in front of the cam. )

All my friends say, OpenSuse is the best distro. I have tried it, but I just can't make it work for me. I have a lot of problems touchpad not working properly, wireless, it crashes. It looks good, but I need a distro which will work on my dell Vostro 1700. I have found Ubuntu (gnome) best for my laptop, but I would like to try (KDE) something more polished like OpenSuse. A distro which works like a charm.

So my sources.list has this line:
deb [URL] lenny non-free
But now I see these has not been updated since november 2009. Is there a newer repo somewhere? I know you can download opera from the opera website - but that is too much work when you have many computers to manage.
