Software :: How To Keep Any Flash Video From Anywhere On Internet For FREE

Aug 12, 2010

how to keep any flash video from anywhere on the internet for free.no i'm not a robot, and i don't want your credit card info, nor do i wish to tell you how to make your (expletive deleted) bigger. it's just something i stumbled on and i wanted to share it.you can keep any flash video on the internet if you're using google chrome. it's really simple. just browse on over to any video you like, it could be videos, or a porn site, whatever. watch it. or don't. i don't care. just keep it going in the back ground until it is fully loaded. next, go to your home directory using your favorite file manager. you may have to turn on "show hidden files" different fms do it differently, consult your documentation. at any rate you're looking for ".cache" this applies to kde, gnome, it doesn't matter. in ".cache" you'll find "google-chrome" inside you'll find a whole bunch of files. you're looking for flash video filetypes so either a "list view" or "details" or something along those lines would be your best bet to find it more quickly. none of the cache files in here have "human names" like video.flv for example, there all along the lines of f_007x so finding your particular one isn't exactly easy, but it's not hard. file sizes are your best clue here. of course, if the video is still loading it's easier because you're looking for a flash video that seems to keep growing in file size. once you found the one you want to keep just copy it to a permanent location like ~/videos or something like that and give it a better name. or not. it's up to you. anyway, i hope you find this tip useful. oh and don't worry about what distro your using, it doesn't seem to matter. i've tried this trick on slackware, ubuntu, and opensuse.

Fedora :: F14- Non Free / Proprietary ( Flash / Codecs / Graphical Drivers )?

Nov 13, 2010

Fedora is a distro that is focused only on free and open source software. This means that Fedora doesn't distribute any proprietary or patent encumbred software, so they'll not be present in the official Fedora releases and repositories. This does not mean that they cannot be instaled in a Fedora distro. Because there are many users who want to run some of that software, the community has been providing, since a long time ago, alternative ways to acomplish that. This is very important when a new release is distributed, because it attracts many first time users and not all of them are aware of the above mentioned, and every six months, the same questions are placed in the forums, regarding that.

To help new users to install the non free and proprietary stuff mentioned in the titlle, I decided to leave here a fast summary, chosed among many of the available options.

Flash (only 64 bit)
Code:
su
yum erase flash-plugin nspluginwrapper*
rpm -Uvh http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6907158/flashplayer.x86_64/flash-release-1-1.noarch.rpm
yum install flash-plugin

Hardware :: Reverting To Free Video Module?

Dec 1, 2008

does anyone know how to revert to using the free "ati" or specifically the "radeon" modules after uninstalling the proprietary "fglrx" modules in Intrepid Ibex?ver since the xorg.conf file became deprecated in ubuntu, I have no idea how to switch which module it loads and now it loads the vesa driver if the fglrx module is not installed.I've tried manually editing the xorg.conf file anyway, putting the desired driver in the device section and i've tried reconfiguring the xserver with dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, but both cause X to fail to start on reboot. All resources I could find on the fglrx driver online were about installing it, not uninstalling it.

Networking :: Ubuntu 10.04 - Cannot Connect To Free Internet Radio Website

Oct 25, 2010

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit Ubuntu with a wired nic card connected straight to the cable modem. When I try going to Free Internet Radio - SHOUTcast Radio - Thousands of Free Online Radio Stations I get an error message that it is unable to connect. I tried it with Firefox 3.6.11 and Opera 10.06 and neither one will make a connection to Shoutcast web page.

I don't have it blocked with iptables and I don't think the Ad Block plug-in is a factor as Opera won't connect either. But if I try it with IE in XP running in VirtualBox on the same Ubuntu system it will connect to the web page! Is it something with my Ubuntu system or is Shoutcast blocking access to Linux users?

OpenSUSE :: Unable To Get Sound On The Flash Video

Mar 11, 2011

I have noticed an issue after upgrading to 11.4 with my sound. The sound works fine for the most part. The issue I have found is when playing a song in Amarok and then loading up a flash video, there is no sound on the flash video. If I pause amarok, then press play again on the flash video the sound will play in the video. Then if I go back to Amarok, the song won't play again until I close the firefox tab with the flash video. So naturally I figured it was an issue with my sound driver allowing multiple playback. However, I then went and loaded a video in VLC (an .avi) and the sound in vlc and amarok worked at the same time.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Converting Flash Video On-The-Fly?

Sep 27, 2010

Its no secret that flash video performance is sub-par in Ubuntu. I have a Zotac Mag HD ND01 that I have connected to my 40" LCD tv and have a minimal Ubuntu 9.10 installed running openbox and firefox/boxee/xbmc

My primary use for running a web browser is so I could watch live streaming hockey games in HD. However, thanks to Flash's performance (and yes, i've tried the latest versions, even the 091510 version in labs) in full screen mode, watching hockey is not possible because its way too choppy.

Now, on my desktop computer in my office, I can watch the same stream without issue. So, my question is, is there any way to take this live stream (which is using Flowplayer), and re-encode it on-the-fly so I can stream it to my htpc in a format it likes (such as MKV i guess, it can play 720p/1080p mkv files without issue)?

My desktop is a Core i7 920 overclocked to 4.2Ghz with 6GB DDR3 ram, so I would hope its powerful enough for the cause. Also, the desktop is running Windows 7 64bit and Ubuntu 10.04 64bit on a dual boot, so a method in either is fine.

Ubuntu :: Flash Video Freezes All Browsers

Oct 14, 2010

I don't know what happened, but sometime within the last week I have started having a really annoying issue. Whenever I open a web page, that contains embedded Flash, in any browser (Firefox, Google Chrome, Chromium, or Opera), the entire browser, and all windows and tabs, freezes for about :15 seconds or so. After that time, everything unfreezes and works as normal, except for the video which often times doesn't even play after the freeze occurs. I don't believe I have made any major changes to my system, just the updates that show up in the notification area.

Ubuntu :: Different Video Effects In KDE And Firefox Using Flash?

Apr 19, 2011

since some time I notice a real disturbing video effect: I use Firefox 4 and Adobe Flash 10 (current version). When opening a web page which contains a flash video this video keeps part of the screen on both (!) desktops. (see attached pictures) Closing or minimizing all programs the video window is invisible. The video window will appear each time a program - any program! - window does appear above the area where this video windows is placed. I open Kate or OpenOffice or any other program and video window will appear again - see pic #1.

No matter if the video was started or not, the effect does happen everytime. No matter if the FF tab or the entire browser was closed or not, the effect will stay until X-Server restart. Even if I switch to the second desktop, the effect will appear. For example I launched Virtualbox on the 2nd desktop, open a Win XP system - the entire desktop background is blue. I opened Chrome and the video window from desktop #1 appears within the Chrome window. (see pic 2) The effect will not appear into screendumps, so I used my smartphone cam for both pictures:

#1: after opening www.tagesschau.de I closed firefox and re-opened FF with another web page. You can see the video screen from tagessschau.de within the heise.de page.

#2: then I switched to desktop #2, run WinXP into a Virtualbox window and launched Chrome.

Nvidia Gforce 9800 GTX+
current Nvidia driver from nvidia.com
Kubuntu 10.10 amd64 and KDE4
all updates installed

As I do remember this effect happens since Flash 10. Unfortunately it is nearly unimpossible to use Internet without an installed Adobe Flash 10. If it would be possible I would remove Flash immidiately from any computer.

Debian :: Totem Won't Play Flash Video

Apr 3, 2010

when i try to play a flash video the visual works but not the audio and totem tells me i need the suitable codec which it says is gstreamer-bad and when i attempt to install it, it says that it conflicts with gstreamer-really-bad but if i remove gstreamer-really-bad and install gstreamer-bad totem gives me an internal data stream error instead and even visual won't work. so i ran totem--debug and this is the terminal output with gstreamer-bad when trying to play flash video.

quote:

** message: error: internal data stream error. gstflvdemux.c(528): gst_flv_demux_loop (): /play/decodebin0/flvdemux0: stream stopped, reason error

i also ran totem --debug with gstreamer-really-bad installed and this is the output then.

quote:

totem --debug

** (totem:7979): debug: registering python plugin instance: videos+totempythonplugin

General :: Possible To Concatenate *.flv Flash Video Files?

Oct 12, 2010

Have got a film broken up into 10 minute chunks a la ...... Tried cat file1.flv file2.flv > file1&2.flv but mplayer stopped, saying 'end of file', half way through playing file1&2.flv.

Is there some way to join them together into one, so the film may be played all the way through.

Just occurred to me you could use an * for the counting numeral in the filename e.g. mplayer file*.flv for file1.flv, file2.flv, etc..
