I have been using this thread for a couple of days and just getting exposed to the vast world of ubuntu after succesfully partitoning the hard drive through a live cd. (a copy of linux for dummies book)So naturally after getting adjusted to the new os I started seeking for downloadable media and applications.Started with flashplayer last night and installed after watching some videos. But when I tried the same thing with vlc through the terminal command; sudo apt-get vlc
The video streaming seased because they wouldn't load it stays searching forever! Now ..... doesn't work.I am afraid that by tampering with the command it also affected the flash player file. This is an ethernet connection , 100 mb/s, netgear router.
I am having problems getting Adobe flash player to load.I went to there site and could only find the Linux download for Ubuntu 10.4 so I tried to load it using update manager to no avail cant seem to get it working in version 11.4, Works fine in version 10.10 . has anyone else had this problem?
I installed Flash Player, But when I go to play a video or something it says I still have to install it so go back to adobe to install but says it is already installed. Ubuntu v.9
On some websites, firefox flickers when it plays videos: vh1 videos This one is flickers the worst. It cuts off the edge of the screen and more. ADHD support website: The progress bar flickers.
I am having some weird problem with the firefox based flash player when playing videos in full screen. The video flashes white in areas while the video is playing. I don't know if this is Ubuntu, Firefox or flash. I am running Lucid on a Macbook Pro
I recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 and I've been having problems with flash player. The problem occurs when I'm trying to play a video clip on You Tube or on similar sites. Video clips do not play properly, videos run slowly and with many interruptions, while on the other hand the sound is excellent and my internet connection is OK, only the quality of the video is poor. I am using: intel celeron 1800MHz 512 SD ram ATI Radeon 9550 Hardware Drivers displays no drivers for my graphic card...
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.
i installed adobe flash player (install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz)on linux open suse 11.1. But it doesn't play vedio etc on you tube,it says that this is old version of flash player. I reinstalled it ,even then it says old version of flash player.
I have released a Firefox extension, called FlashVideoReplacer, that automatically replaces embedded flash video object with video/mp4 or x-flv, allowing to watch flash streaming content with a less CPU intensive plugin.
I'm trying to diagnose a weird problem ... maybe someone has an idea where to start. I'm having a problem with flash videos. The video part displays as if the fast-forward button is being held down; audio sounds correct.
I'm thinking "synchronization error" (duh!) but I'm not sure how to start to diagnose the issue. I'm running OpenSUSE 11.4 x64, and the problem shows up in both chrome and opera.
I've been away from Linux for a while, so I need to get informed about some of the 32- vs. 64-bit issues concerning video players and codecs. So, what is everyone using these days?
More specifically, is it possible to play, e.g., .wmv files with 64-bit Kaffeine (my favorite player) or any other 64-bit video player? If so, then which combination of player and codec should I use?
in software.opensuse.org site if we serch for a software the result will be like the following
vlc KDE:Unstablelayground/openSUSE_11.4_KDE_Distro_Factory This is the stripped version of the VLC media Player. VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video
[more] 1-Click Install Manual Package Download Go to OBS Project i586 vlc-1.1.6.99-1.11.i586.rpm src vlc-1.1.6.99-1.11.src.rpm x86_64 vlc-1.1.6.99-1.11.x86_64.rpm
if i like to keep the setup(rpm) of the software which i should chose the above?
I want to watch a certain video on [url]...., but I get an error message instead. Some videos can be played, so I'm thinking it's a form of restriction, but I can't be sure.I tried using a few proxies, but on some the error message persists and on others the video doesn't load. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and Firefox 3.5.8.
i'm in 64 bit kubuntu, with the the nswrapper in 10.10http://www.metacafe.comin firefox i get the sound but not the video in metacafe, when the video is unblocked by flash block. Others have the same problem?
I just came home from a long trip, with a lot of videos shot during the holiday. I wish to share them with the rest of the family and friends, but the files are huge (full HD). I intend to upload them to the family server, so ..... and the likes are not something I want.
Flash isn't working anywhere, and haven't done so properly since I first installed Ubuntu 10.04 a month ago. I have been able to make it work for a short period of time, by doing the following:
1. clearing the cache and the cookies.
2. installing the correct plug-ins for my system.
sometimes when I do this, Flash will work for a few minutes. what can I do to resolve the problem completely? the Flash plug-in I have is the Adobe Flash plug-in, version 10.1.82.76ubuntu0.10.04.2.
it starts going on a go slow then crashing and a logo face comes on the screen. ive redone ubuntu and the flash player but its still happening its adobe 10, is they any other flash player that i can use. or is there some how i can pull a log to see whats happening. its doing my head in i was chatting to a fit bird on omegle and the frigging thing crashed.
Using firefox 3.6.13 on 8.04. Doing aboutlugins shows Flash 9.xxx installed. So, natch, does the drop down. I can disable Flash from the drop down, but can't remove it! Using terminal I type in
and get message back saying that the plugin doesn't exist. Certainly can't remove something if it isn't there, now can we?
50 how-tos all have same command line, and it fails me. What next? I am more than happy to remove firefox, but I know that when that happens, all the plugin in info will say behind.
