Slackbuilds have the 1.0 version and it has quite a few bugs and one in specific that I need which is rotate.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm running slackware current. Blueman works perfectly, except for DUN. I can connect to DUN service, but I don't know to open the connection. I've tried to find help on the blueman website, and I've I've found this page [URL].
Where says to install plugins to use DUN. Before I screw up my blueman configuration .. those plugin are already included in the blueman package? I can't find where to download them. If they are already included, what I've to do to use DUN?
Attempting to do so gives the following:

The specific files will change, but the error is consistent.
I have full read and write permissions, as well as execute permissions for all relevant mozilla files, so what could be the problem?
i'm having trouble installing the jre in firefox3.6. I'm using slackware 12.1 which comes with the default firefox 2. Downloaded 3.6 into my systems this is where i install:

I download the jre 6 from the java website and this is where i install:

I create a symbolic link into the firefox3.6 plugin folder using this command:

Double check to see if the link exists:

Restart the firefox and type aboutlugins, the java plugin does not exists. I went to the java website and test to see if jre is install in firefox, but could not detect. This is the permission for the firefox 3.6 dir in the /usr/lib path:

Is there any where i miss or i install the symbolic link in the wrong plugin folder? where does the firefox read its plugins?
I've been searching for hours now on how to start compiz from command line and configure the plugins. I just want to use the compiz core package in Slackware (no add-ons for now). I've figured out starting compiz

for gtk based or kde respectively. I know how to start the plugins (by putting their names in the compiz command), but not what all of their command line names are.
What I'm looking for is all the console names of the base plugins (and eventually the others too), the order they need to be started in (if any), how to automatically start compiz when X starts, and how to change plugin settings (all without ccsm). How to do the above stuff without the use of a graphical tool.
Im using slackware64 13 and I accidentally rm one of the java plugins for mozilla when I was trying to just mv it.

I am having a real issue with getting Rhythmbox plugins to work. I have tried several of them and I cannot get any of them to work. I have them in the ~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/plugins directory and I have restarted rhythmbox and tried to open it from the console. I get no errors or any other indication that there are any problems. Is there something I am missing?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter a month or so on a WUBI install (Lucid Lynx 64bit) I decided to pass to a clean install to a dedicated partition and here I am, almost happy. I have installed 5* ( uninstalled & installed) gedit-plugins package by every means I know of (apt-get from terminal, ubuntu software center, synaptics) and I also have downloaded and unzipped the package to ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins folder. But none of the plugins is working.
I don't know if it is relevant, but i noticed the following: on my wubi installation i had installed gedit-plugins with apt-get and it had installed in the ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins folder. Now I find the contents of the package in /usr/lib/gedit-2/plugins and /usr/lib64/gedit-2/plugins. I don't know if it has anything to do with anything.
A friend of mine threw me an OLPC (original model with 1GB of storage) that he was trying to put slackware in. He managed to install a minimal installation, but now it asks for the e2fstools (the stuff to run fsck on ext(2/3/4) partitions) which he didn't install (he formatted the "disk" as a single jfs partition). Is there any reason why it would want to have those tools given that there are no ext(2/3/4) type filesystems in that machine? And is there any specific init script (or udev rule) that can be edited to make it not try and check ext(2/3/4) partitions?

For my private data I'm using a QNAP NAS (Some ARM CPU with linux kernel 2.6.22), the file shares provided by NFS. I mount them withmount -t nfs 192.168.0.2:/Public /mnt/qnapWorks fine, no problems.But now, if i try to copy some large files ( > 1GiB) to the NAS share, sometimes the systems completely freezes during the copy process. I have to do a hard reset to bring the system back to work

how to copy files over my network between my two computers.
I have done it before, but don't remember all the things I had to go through to do it.
None of the instructional things that I have found has given me actual instructions that I understand.
Actually I have not even found instructions for using scp that I can understand. I have all ready done this in the past, yet with 30 years experience with computers, a bachelors degree in computer science, 20 years experience with linux I still cannot understand anything that I have found that tells how to do this.
I have two problems.
(1) the actual syntax of scp. None of the instructions I have found tell what anything is in their examples.
They might say:
scp blah blah yadda yadda zonk zonk.
They don't bother to tell me what blah blah is or what yadda yadda is, or what zonk zonk is.
(2) Also none of them tells what has to be set up in configuration files for things to work. For example one of my computers is named KING, and one is named QUEEN. There is probably something on computer KING that tells what QUEEN is. I don't know what this configuration file is, so of course I can't put in the entries that would do the job.
So where are some instructions that I might find for doing this copy of files over my network of two computers?
I'm trying to bring my Slackware system back to life as my XP HDD is dying... I've got everything working except for my audio. I got a new motherboard (ASRock P43DE3) and it has a VIA VT1708S as the onboard audio. Is there any way I can get this working without rebuilding the kernel?

I recently bought the Alfa AWUS036h which uses the Realtek rtl8187 chipset. I am able to load the module and connect to any network, but its almost as soon as I try to load a page the connection drops. It never stays connected for more than 30 seconds. My other computers using the same adapter in the same spot work fine, unfortunately there not running slackware. I've tried compiling the newest stable kernel and checked the rd.inet1.conf settings.

I read my ~/.bashrc and saw nothing SVN related.
I can't copy & paste text from an Evolution email message without first pasting the text into an editor like gedit or a word processor and recopying it a second time... Then it works fine... I thought the problem may have been a Delphi forum specific problem, but it also does the same thing on this board...
I running 10.04 with the default Evolution mail program.
BTW on Delphi I can turn off the wysiwyg editor and paste as "source" and it works just fine without the paste and recopy step...
I have three computers on my lan. I have installed authorized_keys entries to enable no password between two of these machines, but the third will not go there. The sshd_config is identical for all machines.
