I am new to opensuse 11.4. I am trying to copy the flash 11 beta file (libflashplayer.so) into the lib64/browser-plugins folder but i get 'Access Denied. Could not write to (destination).
Trying to watch videos for the first time using Fedora 13 there was just a black screen where the video play button should be, both on Firefox and Google Chrome, and the message: ?You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video?. So I downloaded Flash Player 10.0 for x86_64 from Adobe Labs. They advised: To install it, copy libflashplayer.so to your 64 bit browser plugins directory (such as /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/). How do I do this? I know how to sign in as root, but don?t know how to go to /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/, nor do I know how to ?copy libflashplayer.so to your 64 bit browser plugins directory?
Is it possible to run Windows Firefox plugins/addons under Wine while the browser itself is the native Linux Firefox? For example; I am considering taking the introduction to Linux Open University course, but the course requirements state the need to use Shockwave Player. Obviously Shockwave Player is not available for Linux but it is (allegedly) possible to run both the Windows version of Firefox and Shockwave Player under Wine. I would prefer to run the Linux version of Firefox natively with only the Windows version of Shockwave Player using Wine.
Is there some method to achieve this ? Maybe there is some kind of wrapper application, something like the one used for Windows wireless networking drivers (NDISWrapper) or maybe there are instructions on how to embed the Shockwave Player using Wine in Firefox somewhere. Obviously my needs are quite specific but I am sure that being able to use Windows browser plugins/addons under the Linux version of Firefox would be of interest to at least a few other people.
im trying to run minecraft.jar which just freezes up at startup screen, wondering if i made a mistake in java along with that Firefox doesn't have a plugins folder i can find to put java into heres the files it has
application.ini libfreebl3.so libxul.so blocklist.xml libmozalloc.so Link to firefox chrome libmozsqlite3.so mozilla-xremote-client
Is there a way to recreate all the folders from one directory to another without copying over the contents of the folder? I've been trying to do something like this,
Code:for i in `ls $X`; do mkdir $PATH/$i; doneUnfortunately $i is deliminated by whitespaces in the filenames and not the actual folders.
$X contains only other folders so I dont have to worry about regular files but any kind of more "advanced" solution would work.
I have Fedora 10. Some web pages need plugins installed eg. quicktime etc. The web browser shows a button"Install Missing Plugins" at the top. When I click this it always says "No suitable plugins were found".
Have very recently installed OPEN S on my PC. The DVD player( why is it called TOTEM? ) won't work. It asks for some plugins without saying which ones exactly. Have tried to follow some links it suggested but to no avail (me being too bleeding brainless, I presume). Am sure that eventually will find out the solution but for the time being stuck and not able to watch some of Hollywood's greatest masterpieces on my machine.
This file (and a couple others) are missing from packman ATM.I've seen them (need version 0.10.30 or greater) at multimedia:/libs.My doubt is, does these gstreamer packages housed at download.opensuse.org are limited due to DCMA/patent issues, like OOTB k3b/libxine are
Full Wine is installed, so VST should work. All VST plugins cause LMMS to hang. However, the dials and such on the plugins are responsive, so I think its a problem with LMMS. For that matter VST works perfectly under Reaper, which is a platinum rated Windows program running under Wine.
I'm trying to configure iFolder Enterprise on an openSUSE 11.3 machine, but i'm having problems when I try to install the package novell-ifolder-enterprise-plugins. The error message is "nothing provides simias.LdapProvider = 1.8.3.0". I've installed the main package of novell-ifolder-enterprise and his dependencies without problems. After this error, i've installed simias package, but when I try to install again the ifolder's plugins, the same error appears. I've used the following repository to install the ifolder packages:
Index of /repositories/network:/ifolder:/server_stable/openSUSE_11.3
I downloaded a FLAC album from a band's label. The weird thing is that I cannot see the folder contents using the standard file browser interface. However, VLC can see and play the files without problem.I don't believe the files have any sort of DRM, but they are legal, FWIW.
I tried to install a package of extra Compiz Fusion plugins but it won't run. Says there is some kind of conflict or error. Anybody know where I can find this. The particular plugin I want is Show Mouse.
I'm using Amarok 2.4.0 with openSUSE 11.4. I am trying to play podcast. However, when I try to select play, the following pops appear as show below:
Code: /usr/lib/gst-install-plugins-helper requires an additional plugin to decode this file The following plugin is required: application/xml Do you want to search for this now? then
I'm sure this is a painfully naive question, but I don't suppose it can possibly lower my reputationFor Good Reasons, use a custom build of the audio editor audacity rather than the version in the openSUSErepositories. What I can't seem to figure out is how to get it to find and load the LADSPA signal processing plug-ins. I have the regulation ladspa libraries (1.13-6.2) from the Oss repository installed. The files reside at /usr/lib64/ladspa . audacity is built with ladpsa support enabled, and indeed reports that it is enabled if I look at the Effects tab under preferences. I have even entered the ladspa library path in a "ladspa.conf" file under /etc/ld/so.conf.d, which may or may not help. Regardless, I don't seem to see the ladpsa effects listed when I run audacity
I was wondering if there would be a way for me to copy the contents of a shared folder that's running on an XP system using shell script. Actually, there are two shared folders that I want to do this with. I want to be able to launch the script and automatically copy all the contents of each folder into two separate folders on my ubuntu desktop. For example;
Lets say that I have Shared Folders A1 and A2 on my networked XP system and I have Folders B1 and B2 on my Ubuntu desktop. I want the script to automatically copy the contents of A1 into B1 and likewise for A2 and B2. During the copying, I want the script set up such that any pre-existing files in the B1 & B2 folders will automatically get overwritten by the ones copied from A1 & A2.Is there any possibilities of me achieving this?
I'm on Fedora 13 and I have Chromium installed. How do I get more plugins like mplayer or vlc working? I installed firefox to test and gecko-mediaplayer, vlc, and more appear in aboutlugins from firefox but chrome only shows flash and mozplugger. I tried linking all of the plugins from the firefox directory to the chrome plugins directory but no luck.
There are no Graphical User Interfaces showing up for DSSI Music Instruments.

I have been trying to get the Editor to appear for DSSI-synths in Rosegarden for a long time. But no success. The same problem happens with jack-dssi-host and ghostess. Tried to put the hostname in /etc/hosts. Even tried with KDE.
But then I realized that I had no file /etc/hostname. Everything else worked anyway. So I made one, and put the hostname in it. And - halleluja - I have Editors!
So obviously these things (OSC?) looks for the file /etc/hostname.
I'm having trouble playing mp3 and video files on ubuntu, despite the fact I have downladed packages that include gstreamer ffmpeg video plugin, gstreamer extra plugins, and ubuntu restricted extras(plus some additional gstreamers).
The problem occurs with both mp3 and video files.Mp3 files are played only by my VLC player, but with a terrible stutter. The other players give visual indication that they are playing the file, but no music is heard. When I play video files, the picture is displayed, but also stutters at all players and no sound is heard.
I've tried many times to get Qt plugins to work, but I just couldn't figure it out. I've written a small test application, how to write a plugin for it?
Giving Gnome DO a try but haven't been able to get any of the plugin's I selected to work. Also, any opinions on Cairo Dock vs DO in Docky mode? Which is more MAC like? Cairo has lots of settings and options seem like too many?
I am running fedora 13 and am having problems installing Java and Adobe Flash player to work on firefox. Whenever I try Java, it says plugin not avalible, and whenever I try Adobe, it says that it failed. Im sorry if this was posted before, I did look for it.
