Apr 5, 2010I have set up ubuntu server V9 with squid, dansguardian and clam. I have fetchmail wroking to bring in mail from our externally hosted website and delivering it to users mailboxes in exchange server. That was easy following guides on the internet. However my brain is failing me now. How do I reverse the process and send mail to the outside world. I need to be able to do this without authentication. At the moment i am using a windows environment with exchangepop3 which uses smarthost to connect to the ISP smtp server. Please help or point to a simple guide. If i cannot solve this soon i will have to revert to microsoft solution for the proxy server.

Jun 9, 2011I'm trying to rsync files and directories from a RedHat linux host(v 4.5 & 4.7) to a Windows server 2003R2 Standard Edition with cygwin running. I'm executing the rsync command from the cygwin shell. The transfer involves rsync'ing approximately 1 TB of data from the linux server to the windows server. After about 280+GB of data transfer, the transfer just dies.
There seems to be no particular file or directory that the transfer stops at. I'm able to rsync GB's of data from other linux hosts to this cygwin server with no problem. Files and directories rsync fine.The network infrastructure is essentially the same regardless of the server being rsync'ed in that it is GB Ethernet running through Cisco GB switches. There appear to be no glitches or hiccups across the network path.
I've asked the folks at rsync.samba.org if they know of any problems or issues. Their response has been neutral in that if the version of rsync that cygwin has ported is within standards then there is no rsync reason this problem should happen.I've asked the cygwin support site if they know of any issues and they have yet to reply. So, my question is whether the version of rsync that is ported to cygwin is standard. If so, is there any reason cygwin & rsync keep failing like this?
I've asked the local rsync on linux guru's and they can't see any reason this should fail from a linux perspective. Apparently I am our company cygwin knowledge base by default.

I have looked at a few logs and it appears that Postfix is not doing proper DNS lookups on the internal servers. It keeps trying to connect to the domain controllers. I have an MX record specified.

The problem I am facing now is, the exchange was able to send mails through me alright. But when mails come in, qmailtoaster is suppose to forward the mails to the exchange server but it is not, rather the mails are sitting in the toaster's queue.

Server :: Internal Mail Relay To Exchange Setup
Jan 25, 2010I have ticket tracking software that mails ticket to groups. Right now the software is on an exchange server. After moving it to a dedicated linux server (debian lenny) I cant get it to email any of the internal domain addresses. I have tried to setup sendmail to relay it to the exchange server. Logs indicate that it was sent by the ticket tracking software but the message never hits the mailbox. It also wont get to any other mail address. Is there a better way to do this? The crm software will utilize either a smtp server or any mail server on the localhost. The problem is that with the dedicated server on the same network as the exchange server, it fails to send the mail even if I assign an external smtp server. But if the dedicated server is on a different network then it works using any smtp server in its configuration. I need something that can "pass the email" to the exchange server. Or just be able to send the mail to internal email account and still be on the same network.

And the script sets the domain part off the email to the last part off the IP of the ubuntuserver. For example: wikipost+2.12345@62.85. I cant send an email to half of an IP, can I?
